According to mysupermarket the dark chocolate oranges are £1 in Superdrug at the moment.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

I wanted to get her a makeup palette (this one) but as it's £45 (I know, so expensive! But she's saving for a house so doesn't have any money at all to indulge in her make up addiction so I wanted to get her something she'd love and use for years - as it would last a long long time) quite rightly my parents veto'd it. I earn my own money but they are my advice line!
Ideally I wanted to get her something like that, from a good brand (I love Urban Decay and Mac but again - expensive) and with a good range of colours - what I really liked about the linked palette above was that it's a good mix of bright colours and neutrals. Neutrals she can wear to work and brights she loves wearing when she's off work; she's very good at make up and can do bright very well.
I thought about making my own - for instance from Inglot but a 6 pan empty eyeshadow palette is £10 and then the eyeshadows are £4 each, so again very expensive.
Pixtotts, I'm so sorry. We lost my Nana this May, five days before my birthday... she'd been ill for the last five or so years (COPD brought on by an excessive smoking habit) and every time before had bounced back so when she went into hospital in April we all thought Oh, she'll be home soon, it's not the end. She also was 'healthy' (as healthy as someone with acute lung failure could be really) two weeks before she went in... she went in for a mild case of pneumonia I think and it just went down. *hugs* FWIW, hospitals should now be gearing up for winter pressures and so should be hot on infection control so hopefully she doesn't get any nasty bugs whilst she's in.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -

I am getting there with the songs hehe! Me and another patient were so naughty sneaking off all the time that one of the nurses timed us out to our own beds for two hours after shouting as us hehe! That was because I got up before the 4 hour safety period after a procedure (in my defence I assumed because I was allowed up to the toilet I was allowed to walk about again) hehe.
I ordered mum a few bits and will pay them off next month. Then a hour later she said she just wants one present from me with a value of £45 lol! I didn't let on I had got her stuff already so may give my brother the idea she wants.NanMias - cyber granddaughter!

Well, yesterday was a washout, but a very nice one! Half day at work as there were a group of us meeting for afternoon tea for a birthday, was such a pleasant afternoon, constantly topping up the pots, sandwiches etc. We were supposed to go to a Christmas market afterwards but it wasn't on so we went to see the lights, Regent St & Oxford St weren't that great, some of the side streets made up for it. Went to Debenhams to look at Clinique as one of the girls had bought a gift set in Boots, lovely little makeup bag with 4 full size lip pencils for £20, so we had to check if it was Boots or Clinique, Clinique, so I bought 2 sets, but they had 2 nail varnish & lip pencils & got free nail varnish & moisturiser for me!
Was going to have awkward day today, needed to go to post office to collect a parcel, but also needed to be home as I had to sign for a delivery & postie can come anytime until 6, go to dry cleaners, shop.... Decided to get to post office at 8 when they open, allowing for queue should be home 8:15, did that and post man had to wait for me to park when I got home, result! So was at dry cleaners by 8:30 (£48!) but found nearly £30 when I checked the pockets, so not too bad, shopped & was home by 9:15, very happy bunny :T
Need to go through what I have now, waiting for carpets to dry as I steam cleaned them, so will try & get up to date.A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Hi all:santa2:
Ruth-Honey and Feisty Fidget I have finished "Twelve Days of Christmas" by Trisha Ashley and thoroughly enjoyed it.:D:beer::j
If anyone would like me to send the book to them, just shout up!
Yesterday I went to Ikea and bought some lovely berry scented candles. I hope they smell as good when lit.I know Yankee candles give a lovely smell but I'm allergic to something in them which makes my skin itch and my eyes puff up:mad::mad::mad:
I'm going to make a hot chocolate and catch up with the last few pages.
xxxStart by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say

I loved it so much, that I went to the library yesterday and got her magic of Christmas! It was my weekend treat and best of all it was free
Well I got up bright and early and packed the car up ready for selling at one my my christmas craft fairs. Drove all the way there and was stressing over lack of preparing lunch, or taking a drink. Bustled in to a very bemused looking lady telling me that the craft fair is tomorrow :rotfl: Luckily I saw the funny side of it, although sadly it means no lay in and day off for me again this week
On the plus side I have completed 75% of my Christmas purchases today! I managed to use my £15 worth of nectar points to trade up to £30 worth of toy presents, I had a £10 off £40 waitrose shop, so also managed to get a box of ferreror roches for freeI had an amazon top cash back voucher and some paypal 'profit' left from my fitbit sale, so managed to get some more bits.
I've also themed my wrapping :rotfl: I've purchased brown parcel paper, wide red ribbon, narrow gold glitter ribbon and some kraft card to print tags with my cutting machine. I will also tie a candy cane on each gift (was going to use sleigh bells too, but getting too pricey!). I really hope I manage to have the patience to make them look great!
I'm really chuffed with my updated totals as so close to finishing now[/COLOR]2024 Challenges
