Smoosh the most used bath toys in this house for both mine and nephews are not actual bath toys iyswim. We have a set of funnels (£1 asda) measuring cups (asda again) a jug. Another favourite is a cheap plastic teaset (£5 ish). What is handy is something to keep the bits in such as a bath net - try poundland. You could get a few bits and wrap them in a cheap plastic basket (to store toys in bathroom)?0

Just caught up on the last few days. Glad the Trisha Ashley book is bringing festive joy to more people!
I'm still reading Humbugs and Heartstrings. Got my next book lined up, (calling me...)but I MUST finish this first.
I'm nearly there with my pressie buying. Mainly stocking fillers to sort now. Want to get some Options sachets from B&M to finish off the Taste Of Christmas packs. Home Bargains had some Thorntons chocolate snowman bars for 29p each, so I've added one of those to some of the bags. Did some wrapping today as the weather is so sucky here. Watched Nativity while I was doing it. :santa2:
Yesterday I had a Christmassy day with some friends. They brought cheese, we got crackers and mulled cider. Watched Arthur Christmas and had a good natter. Got given a few early presents. Some festive bootie slippers with Christmas puds round the top and fluffy socks. And a crafty friend made me the most amazing Christmas organiser!!! It's got pockets for shopping lists and Christmas cards lists, blank pages for adding photos and notes. I'll take some photos and post them so you can see. It must've taken her ages and it's so me!
Tesco have 25% off some of their nightwear until midnight tonight. They've got some lovely Christmas pj sets. Ordered some gingerbread ones for a friend. :TCross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Wondering if anyone can help...
I've been asked to buy a bath toy for my 16 month old niece. The problem is I only really want to spend around £5 because I have a lot of people to buy for, and not much spare money this year. I've been searching round a lot of the obvious places but a lot of the toys seem either too young or too grown up, so I'm really stumped!
Any ideas?
I would also recommend a plastic teaset. Dd2 is now 7 and still plays with hers at bath time! We keep it in a bath net, and with a good clean once a month, it has so far lasted her 5 years! It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
Thanks for the help!
I love the idea of a tea set0 -
Thankyou all for the kind words and virtual hugs.
It's amazing how quickly things can get done when they need to be. Friday we bought a bed, yesterday we collected it, and today we turned Grans dining room into a bedroom for her drilled holes in walls for TV cables. Tried to make it feel like a bed room and not a furniture shop. She's had half her tablets taken off her, so her heart is racing all the time now. But she's on morphine for the pain from the osteoporosis. But the hardest thing is this is it now, it isn't going to get better only worse, and she keeps asking my mum "when can I die?". But this could be it for weeks or months...
I also took my uncle to the eye hospital yesterday, I don't remember if I ever mentioned it in here or not, but way back in April he was hammering a pin into a JCB bucket and had a piece of metal go into his eye. They are still trying to fix it, he goes for check ups every month or so, then he's had about 4 maybe 5 operations. Well we went for a check up yesterday, they always do them on Saturdays... and well he ended up having emergency lazer eye surgery yesterday, they said they couldn't let him leave it was too dangerous he could lose his eye completely
They are hoping eventually they might be able to put a lens back in.
It's all go here!
My sister has her first Uni interview this week, she wants to be a teacher, so I've got the job of taking her to Winchester! Never been so could be interesting, hoping to get some Christmas shopping done while I'm there, try and get my secret santa done, I got the 1 person I didn't want but I have an idea of what to get them so fingers crossed!
I got my pyrography kit... and it's faulty so I need to go try change that! hmmph!
We're going to put grans Christmas tree up for her this week.
XI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -

Morning, I'm on a self-imposed internet ban this week. I will pop on here in the evenings to catch up and will answer children and friends on tw!tter and FB. The reason ... Black Friday deals. I have completed my christmas shopping, I don't "need" anything, I cannot "afford" the items I see and I usually have no control when I see these things I don't need and cannot afford. Easiest thing for me to stay debt free is not to even look but I do hope anyone looking manage to get some really good deals.0

Pixtotts I used to live in Aldershot and about 15 years ago had jury service in Winchester I think. It was just before Christmas and I loved going round the town centre at lunch. Vowed to go back and never did. Very pretty place. Hope I've got it right az my geography and memory are rubbish x0

I love reading all your posts. Well that's me done. I bought my last christmas present this morning, some Ghd straighteners for my daughter on a lightening deal. I weren't going to get them as I have bought her quite a bit and she also wants money to spend in January sales. Well it's all done now. I just have to get stuck in with the wrapping and putting the hampers together now. Tree and decs go up next Sunday and our Elfs will be delivering the kids advents along with my youngest daughters santa letter.
Hope everyone's plans are coming along and you all have a lovely christmas. X'There are far better things ahead Than any we leave behind '0 -
Feisty – Fantastic bargins!!!! Much like MrsI I used to feel I was a good bargin hunter until I came on here!! Have got some good ideas for planning Christmas presents next year
and making it cheaper though!!
GTQ – Whoop holidays are coming!
MrsM – I watched that too, it was really good. I think I missed the very beginning, also not sure what it was called I’m afraid!
Ruth – Ooo looking forward to seeing the pictures of the Christmas organiser.
Pixtotts – Will be nice for your Gran to have the tree up and how nice that you are all so lovely and helping!!
I finished wrapping basically all the Christmas presents on Saturday as planned :T Just need to get 4 gift bags for the cookies and fudge which are for aunts&uncles plus one with a candle and drawer fresheners in for my cousin (she always gets me a little something so this year I am organised and picked her the bits up in Sains sale bit ago). My brain has already begun thinking about what I could do next year for gifts - I must remember we have a year of birthdays yet :rotfl: I am off work on Wednesday and plan to get up in good time to decorate our Christmas cake and finish or at least make a good start on one of the cakes I am doing for others, will marzipan both tomorrow night.
Still not 100 sure what to do on our one and I have an idea what to do on the other....luckily I know what i'm doing on the other 3 which I will do later in Dec! Also I am booked off work Monday which I will be having my hair trimmed and then doing all my Christmas decs up :T:jChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
