Our Asda didn't have the rocky road houses. Asked two members of staff - one said try the seasonal aisle but don't think we have any, one said try the Christmas specials at the back of the store, if we've got any they'll probably be there. Also looked by the baking stuff and in the sweet aisle and no luck. Can anyone tell me where they were in their Asda and I'll try again. Might do a gingerbread one too - thinking maybe the Ikea one?

I'm going to make myself a list with at least one festive thing to do every day from 1st to 24th December - making the most of not being at work this year :D

I got them in 2 different stores one had them in the seasonal aisle with the boxes of chocs/biscuits the other in the baking aisle with the xmas sprinkles ect did take me a couple of trips to find it in stock. do you have much on your list yet? we do the elf thing so try to do something festive/xmas themed everyday really looking forward to it this yr as taz is old enough to really get into it :D
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk
  • :santa2:Hi all:santa2:
MILLYMOLLY, I would happily email you the labels I use for Snowman soup.:)

Princesskitty, I have the twelve days of Christmas here, just waiting for someone to claim. ;)

Peppapig….loving the list idea. I think I may steal it.:D

I started making my place settings from candy canes and ribbon with help of my new hot glue gun. I have never used one before and when I put the glue I the wrong place I wiped it off with my finger. I guess I should have realised hot glue means HOT GLUE and glue sticks….OUCH!!!!!!:eek::eek:

Well, hopefully when I do my candle tonight I will not have a repeat!:o

Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say

Ha ha ha Nitnurse - sorry to laugh but I did much the same thing when I first used ours too :rotfl:

Thanks Mandco, I'll go and have another look. DD does the elf for DGD so we've been busy thinking of things to do that she didn't do last year. For me, I've come up with a list of things so there will be something festive going on every day until Christmas Eve. I need to add a few things on still and if there are days where the festive things are done fairly quickly I shall just add on watching a Christmas film - if all else fails I'll just keep watching the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special to fill in any gaps lol.

This is what I've got so far although I might change things around and there are bound to be things to add.

1st - Sort out Christmas decorations
2nd - Plan Christmas day meal and do shopping list
3rd - Wrap pressies and post overseas cards
4th - Christmas shopping and birthday tea with DD
5th - Put Christmas tree up
    6th - Finish inside decs
7th - Finish hampers and make labels for crackers
8th - Get things to make gingerbread and rocky road houses
    9th - Pre-Christmas Spa day
    10th - Make peppermint creams
11th - The Snowman in London with DGD
12th - Get outside lights and dooutside decs
    13th - Make gingerbread house
    14th - Decorate gingerbread house
15th - Do Christmas food shopping and watch Christmas film
16th - Deliver cards and presents to non-local family and friends
    17th - Make chocolate fudge
18th - Make Christmas decs with DGSs (babysitting day and overnight)
19th - Make rocky road house
20th - Decorate rocky road house
    21st - Family pre-Christmas dinner
22nd - Finish crackers for Christmas day dinner table
23rd - Make peppermint creams and chocolate fudge and put in festive bags
24th - Christmas eve get-together with DD and family we won't see on Christmas day

    Bring it on!!!!!!! :j

    Hello all,

So sorry to hear about your Gran pixtotts, this time of year can be terribly hard too.

I have also forgotten to feed my cake!

Still plugging away straightening up post decorating here, now beginning the pre christmas clear out and deep clean :rotfl: what a joy! Having dumped a lot of the random bits and bobs from other rooms in the spare room whilst they were getting done I've now treated myself to the a*da festive pin ups bedding to put on mid December. The spare room is downstairs and the phone is in there so the door is open unless some is using it, that's my excuse :p

Finally managed something Christmassy! Kids and I sat and made our christmas jumper party invites on Sunday and we have started putting them out. I just cut a rough jumper shape onto a prepared card blank and they stuck festive pictures on them, wasabi tape and lots and LOTS (in the 2 year olds case) of glitter on them.
    Inside it read

"Christmas comes but once a year, please come and fill your heart with cheer"

    Details of the party then

"Dont be a festive mumper, please wear your christmas jumper!"

Original use of made up words there :rotfl:

  • Thanks everyone for the advice :)

DH was the only person that I didn't scrimp on for presents. I bought him exactly what he asked for and didn't even try to source it cheaper. Some how I have managed to go over budget and there were still a few little bits I wanted to get him.

On the plus side, I'm almost done! I have my sister and her partner to buy for (h Samuel vouchers on the way from natwest cash back trade up), my nan (using a £10 off £40 wait rose shop to get hers), an aunt and uncle (recipe in a jar), close friend (wooden plaque being made by a crafter and swapped for some of my prints), secret santa gift (no idea what to get, but a £5 budget). Then I am officially done! It looks like for the first time ever all my presents will either be bought or at least planned for by the end of November! I'm over joyed to be this organised!

  • Peppapig I love the one Christmas activity a day list, great idea! Don't think I can be that organised this year but maybe next year!

nitnurse i'm making those candy cane place settings although I don't have a glue gun so will have to use good old sellotape! :p I hope you weren't burned too badly.

Cav82 I love the invite wording! I may have to pinch it at some point!

Feisty well done on being so organised - it must be a great feeling to nearly be done!

Justbe thanks for the link to our snowman soup tag - I have saved it in my Christmas folder!
