Finally I get to think about christmassy things again now that my exams are over
I had a self imposed festive ban whilst I did the final revision so now it's all go for Christmas.
Thankfully I had done a fair bit of my shopping already so I sorted out all of the presents the other day and updated my spreadsheet so I know what I have and what I still need to get. Few things left to be ordered and then I am done apart from my friends kids but we're meeting up this week so I shall bug them for ideas
I like to leave my wrapping til December so I'm feeling ready.
Hugs to all who need them.0 -

Will try some different branches of Superdrug tomorrow. Not found the dark in stock so far. Friend tried asda for me today and woman said they don't the dark ones as they don't sell!kiss_me_now9 wrote: »I wanted to get her a makeup palette (this one) but as it's £45 (I know, so expensive! But she's saving for a house so doesn't have any money at all to indulge in her make up addiction so I wanted to get her something she'd love and use for years - as it would last a long long time) quite rightly my parents veto'd it. I earn my own money but they are my advice line!
Ideally I wanted to get her something like that, from a good brand (I love Urban Decay and Mac but again - expensive) and with a good range of colours - what I really liked about the linked palette above was that it's a good mix of bright colours and neutrals. Neutrals she can wear to work and brights she loves wearing when she's off work; she's very good at make up and can do bright very well.
I thought about making my own - for instance from Inglot but a 6 pan empty eyeshadow palette is £10 and then the eyeshadows are £4 each, so again very expensive.
Pixtotts, I'm so sorry. We lost my Nana this May, five days before my birthday... she'd been ill for the last five or so years (COPD brought on by an excessive smoking habit) and every time before had bounced back so when she went into hospital in April we all thought Oh, she'll be home soon, it's not the end. She also was 'healthy' (as healthy as someone with acute lung failure could be really) two weeks before she went in... she went in for a mild case of pneumonia I think and it just went down. *hugs* FWIW, hospitals should now be gearing up for winter pressures and so should be hot on infection control so hopefully she doesn't get any nasty bugs whilst she's in.
I couldn't find that one anywhere, I'm afraid. Why not make a make up set with cheaper make ups instead? Poundland have started selling their own range recently (check poundland thread for some opinions) and I hear good things about the Superdrug MUA (?) brand. Home bargains have some cute make up bags. You could probably do something quite impressive for half the cost of the one you wanted. I know it's not what you were after, but your parents would only tell you off for spending lots of money.I am getting there with the songs hehe! Me and another patient were so naughty sneaking off all the time that one of the nurses timed us out to our own beds for two hours after shouting as us hehe! That was because I got up before the 4 hour safety period after a procedure (in my defence I assumed because I was allowed up to the toilet I was allowed to walk about again) hehe.
I ordered mum a few bits and will pay them off next month. Then a hour later she said she just wants one present from me with a value of £45 lol! I didn't let on I had got her stuff already so may give my brother the idea she wants.
Did she sit you on the naughty step? Lol! Hope you're enjoying being back in your own bed again.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Wondering if anyone can help...
I've been asked to buy a bath toy for my 16 month old niece. The problem is I only really want to spend around £5 because I have a lot of people to buy for, and not much spare money this year. I've been searching round a lot of the obvious places but a lot of the toys seem either too young or too grown up, so I'm really stumped!
Any ideas?0
