Hi
I'm new to this board but am christmas mad so thought I'd join.
Sad day today putting christmas away, makes me depressed at how empty the house seems but also inspires me to get organised for this year.
Have joined the sealed pot challenge and 50p challenge to save for christmas.
Hope to chat soon.
On my half hour lunch break, but just popped on to say Hello and Welcome to the thread !:D0 -

Just a quickie...
Nanamia-not read that one. Let me know what you think of it. Am currently reading a non-Christmassy book called Universally Challenged (I think!) which is kind of like a Sliding Doors concept. Read the free sample on kindle and enjoyed it, so paid either 99p or £1.99 for it. Keep cashing in my Topcashback money for amazon vouchers and treating myself to kindle books.
Feeling a bit rough today. Very sniffly, but upstairs neighbours are being noisy, so I might drag myself out for a walk anyway. Just to get some peace!
Edited to add-Just checked my email & I've won £5 from my GFK surveys, so I've cashed it in for Amazon vouchers and bought Calling Mrs Christmas and the new Bridget Jones books on kindle!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Afternoon all, just popping by to catch up.
Been back to Sainsbobs today and got more mincemeat - now down from 30p to 10p a jar so another 3 jars have found their way home with me! Wish I hadn't got any last week now but I am very happy to have a nice stash of the stuff now! Does anyone else use it through the year? never have but wouldn't mind making some mincemeat slice at some point once I get a real oven!
Savings for next year off to a decent start (for only the second week saving...) have given a pretty little tin I got some time ago the job of holding the money and will design myself a cute little tag to add this week or next. £7 went in last week and I'm hoping to add the same again this week. I would like to average £5 a week minimum until December but any extra is obviously a good help!************************************

Ploddingalong, my daughter is the same. She doesn't do sandwiches! I got her a thermos food flask like the one on Amazon. It was a God send, whatever we had for tea the night before she had for lunch the next day or a small tin of pasta shapes. Everyday at primary school her teacher would ask her what she had today, I think her teacher wanted to come to dinner when she saw the cous cous, risotto, roasted veg pasta etc.
Well worth the investment, 2 weeks of school dinner money saved and it's paid for itself0 -
My seven year old son cried for 20mins when I put all the decs under the stair earlier! I had to hold it together!
Just got 4 rolls of lovely wrapping paper for £1.00 from m&s because the cellophane wrapper was torn but the paper is perfect. Really chuffed.Determined to be money neutral this year

BBTHREE - Hope you're on the mend and I didn't laugh at all, honestYou cant beat a new year for a good old tidy and declutter. :-)
Very true - I've decided to tackle one room each week for declutter, early spring clean and possible reorganisation. I figure that way that by the time the better weather comes the house will be in tip top shape. I'm never a hoarded but it always makes me feel very clear headed when I've cleared out a space and moved things around a bit.Anyway I phoned vodaphone up and they gave me a 0844 number which I wrote down .. they said it wasnt including in my 300 minutes of 08 numbers as it only includes 0800 0845 0870 I googled said number and its my doctor surgery! I am so annoyed £23 it has cost me to speak to them over the past month!
JJ that's awful - the 0844 is a bit of a catch because you think it's charged like an 0845 and it isn't. I really don't understand why doctors were ever allowed to change from landline to 'virtual' numbers and it's even more unfair for people who only use mobiles to call. I think it's going to be outlawed at some point - the Gov keep talking about it but who knows if it will ever happen.:(My seven year old son cried for 20mins when I put all the decs under the stair earlier! I had to hold it together!
Ah, bless him and well done you for not joining in
Having another lazy day today. DH is unwell (he has a lot of health problems and some days are not as good as others) and is asleep on sofa (as is the dog) so I'm just pottering and 'researching' on line.
We've got quite a few birthdays coming up but I'm doing pretty well on the pressie front so am feeling very 'in control' which is nice.
I feel a mug of hot chocolate coming on although with DH poorly I'll have to make it myself this time lol.
Hugs to all that need them xIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0
