    Xmas Saver!
 I wish this rain would just stop

I had planned on going into town this afternoon to collect an order from Boots. But it's pouring down and blowing a gale out there.

I'm just fed up with it now. :(
  • hugs to those in need.. fruit baskets to all (tis the season to diet after all ;) )

Know how you feel about this weather.. i live on a hill luckily but the roads leading into our town keep flooding/trees falling/land slides.. last weekend noone could enter all leave our town at all as all roads were affected :S

Got some xmas pressies today yay!!! got a lovely purple baylis and harding weekend bag set for my mum for xmas (£10 down from £30)

Had a wander around primark but nothing caught my eye, so we popped into wilkinsons and all their xmas activity sets and gift bits were reduced right down... got 14 activity sets for £1.40 total! and some large mugs, make up sets, chess sets all for 10p each too. Couldn't carry any more or i would have grabbed a few other bits too.

Went in boots and got 3 of the fcuk sets for £2..40 each.. got home and thought i should have grabbed 5 not 3. but nevermind! not much else left in our boots so unless they get a few cages in there won't be much in the 75% off sale this year. (not overly bothered as tescos, wilkos and debenhams have good sales through the year)

Can't decide which knitting project to start ... decisions
    Totally debt free wohooo 2014

    Hello again!

I've been such a busy bee lately I've not been able to get online much, and then it took me a good while to read through again!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year, we all deserve it after a long year of planning and preparing (and even longer in some cases, I know :p)

Hugs to those who need it, and hopefully those feeling poorly get better soon.

I went to Sainsburys today after seeing people's posts on Grabbit, and I was a bit disappointed at first, I could only see a few rolls for £1.50 each "reduced to clear", which I didn't think was a particularly great price. But then I remembered that lots of people had posted saying that things were scanning at less than the label price, so I ended up with 16 rolls of paper, 11 packs of tags, 2 bags of bows and ribbons, 2 packs of 25 little cards and 6 jars of mincemeat! The paper was all between 10 and 35p a roll, and mostly gold and red holographic, so will work for birthdays too, the cards were 25p a pack, the bows etc were 25p a pack, the tags were 10p a pack and the mincemeat was 10p a jar, expires Nov 2015! I spent a grand total of £7 on that lot, including a lovely wooden bird tree topper for 50p, which I think I will decorate and use for some sort of table decoration next year. Safe to say today's purchases should see me through a good couple of Christmasses :T

I daren't think what it would have cost full price though, the rolls of paper were £1.50-£3 a roll originally! I was good though, I didn't take everything, and I did also tell the lady in front of me at the till (seeing as she was staring at my shopping on the belt!), so I feel like I've helped to spread the festive cheer even though it's only January :D

One small thing: OMO I've been trying to read through your lovely list of links to all things Christmassy but quite a few of them are no longer valid :(

Thanks for letting me know. I just copied them from last years thread. I will have a look and delete them. :)

Edit - all done ( I hope) . A lot of pages had just been moved in the sites. There was a few I had to delete.
Nearly all the MSE threads I copied are no longer there for some reason.

Will add new links as they are found.

fiesty(i think it was you) brown packaging paper in the pound shop (2 different branches) had loads in stock as huge packaging section at the mo or if you have a card factory near you they had some at 79p a roll.
i finally managed to find some cheap Christmas gift bags, nearly cleared out what they had left, present wrapping has now begun and everyone is having it all put in a sealed gift bag. Theory is it will make it easier when we move so its all organised then just put it back where it came from in new house, this is the plan whether it works is a different matter :-)

debndot as you've mentioned brown packaging paper ill mention how DD2 wrapped all our gifts, she found boxes for them all so everyone had a uniform sized gift and they were all wrapped in brown paper that was tied with string and finished with a lovely big button or two in reds or greens then instead of tags she used stamps to print everyones names onto the corner of their parcel. it looked very effective.
