Pigpen that is so not like you. What's up? Get on and post, your posts always smile there is always something going on :) xxx

    No, nothing.

I'm just still feeling pap and doing nothing but moan so don't want to clutter the festivity with it.

Pixie has been up since 2:30, I think she is maybe coming up to needing some slop, I don't think milk it quite cutting it any more :( .. I got to bed at 2 so I'm shattered today..

Struggling to finish knitting projects still. My arthritis is being beastly so walking and knitting is difficult. This usually results in a lot of 'game time'

Trying to catch up on laundry is proving difficult too.

Christmas is being put away today which will mean tears from Squeak no doubt, she loves the tree.

Back to nursery/school tomorrow :( ... I liked not having school runs to do.

morning, home alone, that's me, today. Feisty, hope it goes well with DH going back to work, pity that it is cash related rather than great health improvement.
OMO, sorry for laughing, but the image I have of your face when the brolly was too big, oops.
JJ lovely to read your posts again, how unethical of a doctors surgery making money from their patients calls.
Freespirit, the daily challenges are inspirational, and that you have met them all is a major achievement, go you!
Nanamia I don't know yet about China in summer, as DS1s contract is due to end in July, he should know by April if it is being renewed, if so, I go, if not,......... they may come home, here, England, wow, MrsI hyperventilates.
They are going to Skype today, and every other day until DGD recovers from her distress at leaving.
Today the post Christmas tidy up continues, bedrooms are on the agenda next, then the dreaded decorations decimation, and a sort out of the present stash, still unhealthily oversized, and needing culled. Also need to make soup and work out a budget till the end of the month, and try yet again to contact my insurers regarding the storm damage.

Morning, the kids are all off to school today. So me and the wee one are having a cup of tea and a biscuit.

I got a job on Friday, working in a tearoom kitchens so lots of baking and making hm lasagne etc. but I can't get a childminder to take all 3 kids :-(
It's working 2-3 days a week 9-5pm. So the wee one would need dropped off 8:30-5:30 pm then the elder 2 would need picked up from school til 5:30. But no one has any spaces. There are no other nurseries, playgroups etc. so am trying. 2 other childminders in the next village.
It would also cost me £45 a day and I would be earning £50! I need to check if I would get some WTC towards it. I have been trying for jobs for so long, and can't believe I might not be able to start.

So I have my Mumpreneur hat on and trying to think what else I can turn my hand to. My fb page is still ticking over, but Jan is always very quiet. I'm gong to get the sewing machine out when dd is napping and see what I can make.

Love seeing your challenges Freespirit, it lifts me up each day to read them x

Nice to see everyone still posting x

    Hi all,

Dad is back home, thanks Nanamia for asking. They're not refitting the drain as it will cause more pain than it will relieve and mum has told the specialist no more chemo. We're just waiting for the ineveitable to happen now and the less pain he has to suffer, the better.

Huby took the Xmas Decs down this weekend. The lounge looks clean :) but it also looks bare :(

According to the bathroom scales, which are rather temperamental, I've not put on any weight over Xmas. Now the retreat upstairs is clear, I'll weigh myself on the Wii as it's a bit more accurate.

All the xmassy food, apart from some cheese & crackers and chocs, has been eaten. Think chocs will get left by the coffee machine at work in a few weeks ;)

Looking forward now to getting into some sort of a regular routine again :)
  • WOW a new thread! AWESOME!

Morning all, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and an awesome new year. My birthday was the 30th December and i had a wonderful time.

I'm having a catch up day, not been online all holidays...kids have gone back to school and i've aired the whole house and stripped the beds...we are all still full of colds even bloke has it now and he's never ill, we have been poorly for about 8 weeks now it's crazy! hoping airing the house will get rid of all the vile germs.

I've put all my decorations in the loft and the house looks bare now, i binned quite a few that were worn and i feel we have outgrown as a family...

Starting the mad weightloss and saving plan...i've lost 11lb in 3 weeks and i have saved a fair bit by not buying treats lol! i need to get in my wedding dress in 11 months lol!

Anyhow i've wittled on...off to catch up with everybody. Love and hugs to all xxx
Don't tell me this nothing...this is my nothing

  • Morning all.

Hugs to everyone feeling ill or just having the January blues.

Didn't have my teeth out as expected, have to wait for the date now, which is fine, just have to live on painkillers for a bit longer. Up to 16 week wait now tho - ouch!

Back to school tomorrow for my two, half dreading it, half looking forward to it. Really need the peace & routine back, but school costs me sooo much money. My daughter will only eat hot lunches so at home she has soups, eggs, cup pastas etc

At school it costs me £2.60 a day!!! Any ideas anyone??? She won't touch sandwiches or anything cold :(

Today is just a tidying & pottering around the house day & getting all bags etc ready for tomorrow morning.

Also need to sit and do some sums as our finances are pretty dire now, need to get back on top of things asap.

Hope everyone has a good day :)

Are they allowed a flask Ploddingalong? You could maybe get her one of those food flasks so she can take a little soup or pasta. My dd says some friends take flasks. You like them to have something hot at lunchtime in the winter.

I've switched to packed lunches too. My kids enjoy school dinners, but it's £4 for both each day. I always have ham in the freezer from joints I've bought whoopsied, cooked and sliced them sandwich bags. Saves me so much money. They can have hot dinners on really cold days.

What about something like this? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thermos-Floral-Funtainer-Food-Flask/dp/B007V2G23O/ref=pd_sim_kh_3 it's not the cheapest, I'm sure there are similar out there, this one is pretty for a girl though. X
