Thank you all for the birthday wishes, yes, l had a lovely day, lunch with 2 friends, and a lovely 'smokey barbecue pulled pork, no cheese please pizza' made by DGS in his food technology class, for tea. My lovely daughter had a big canvas copy of DGS posh photo done for me, and DS2 brought me flowers and a gift token for a real plant /flower catalogue, choosing how to spend it will occupy me in the dank winter evenings. I truly am blessed, and am appreciative. xxxxx to all of you.
Christmas is running on apace, and wrapping must commence today.
JJ keep your chin up, l do so hope that there will be a bed for you today, and that then the tests provide a pathway for your treatment.
Must also get packed for trip to York on Monday/Tuesday, with fave cos. Now, off to make coffee and find clothes that fit, xxxxx0 -

I'm so jealous you are going to York I've got to wait until April for my visit, will you be going to the Christmas shop ?
I 've got the chore from hell today cleaning the oven, I usually
just have a quick clean but today is deep clean day the only job I really hate!
On the Christmas front all wrapped and even cards are written out including the ones im sending for the F/B group.
Last night there was a police helicopter buzzing around for ages I've found out that a little girl [13] was raped locally on Monday and the scum that did it has been bailed to his mothers house right near to a junior school ,apparently there was a riot ,roads were closed lots of police and some people were arrested.
Surely common sense should mean scum is bailed out of the area !This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Homebargains had a few new bits in some decent sized wicker baskets for £1.99 & a knit your own beanie £3.99? which . quite a few bits I'm hoping they'll still have next wk but xmas wise picked up a 2pk magnetic nailpolish for £1.49, the hamper wrap set someone mention 79p. they also had cadburys choc sachets for 10p bb feb15.
Adsa have the nescafe sachets for £1 a box so might pick up a few different ones and do a staff room coffee hamper for ds teachers this yr along with some of the hot choc sachets and maybe some biscuits do you think that would be appreciated?this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
Really not feeling Christmas this year, I'll just be glad to see the back of 2014. There's nothing I want, I have no idea what to get my family and some of my favourite people are no longer here to celebrate with.
Bah humbug
Might be a good day to make a gingerbread house, ahah. Maybe that'll get some festive cheer into my blood!£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -
Just a quick check in while I have a coffee, was up at Tower of London at 7:15, beat the crowds, home by 9, emptied washing, new load in, another Christmas cake made, cleared up, so not bad.
Couldn't believe it at tower, toilets don't open until 9 at weekend, you would think they would be open 24hrs this weekend, and they charge 50p, don't actually mind that as they are spotless & I only use public loos if absolutely necessary. But then again, I suppose no one needs to go before 9:)))))
Hope it is a good weekend for you allA smile costs little but creates much0 -

YES! Well this would be appreciated in my schoolAlso pop a box of teabags in and you're sorted lol.
Can I also suggest that if there any classroom assistants in the school maybe address it to them also?? If they're anything like the school I work in they don't get much appreciation (I'm one myself) and teachers tend to forget they use the staffroom also. And even if they don't work in your child's class, I'll bet you a pound to a dollar that they do something for them throughout the year.
Not wanting to blow my own trumpet of course, and I never expect any gifts from parents/children, but that small recognition is always appreciated as I know in my children's schools they go over and beyond for them.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -

I was hoping it would be a good idea something a bit different and more useful then the endless boxes of chocs/flowers ect. Do you think it would be better to send in at the begining of the last wk rather then last day? Considering Ds has 3 daily ta's aswell as his teacher and several others who are help out weekly it will prob work out a bit cheaper too.
Poundland had a huge amount of frozen products in including kitchen towel.
anyone seen the sains xmas food book? not a huge range but the salted caramel choc choux wreath looks rather lovely.
Still haven't manage to get hold of a M&S one so going to have to have a browse online today as the early bird offer is due to end. anyone know if you can still pay it off weekly with m&s or do you have to wait till you collect? might put so much a wk on a gift card to cover it if so.
Kiss-me-now9 sorry your having a down day it is hard sometimes but I always find coming on here helps pick me up hope you have fun with your gingerbread housethis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
Morning everyone, aargh i am full of anxiety this morning, have had trouble sleeping the last couple of nights and its all because i have to drive and pick up DD1 from the airport  it terrifies me its so busy, no one knows where they are going, taxis just do what they want to, and it will be dark and piddling down. I have just had a nosebleed as well which im sure is because of it, i am such a flipping scaredy cat on things like this that other people dont even think about and just drive to airports as if they are driving into town. But on the other hand i NEED to do it!!
Christmas films on channel 5 this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon if anyone is interested. :xmassmile:xmassmile:xmassmile:xmassmile:xmassmile
[QUOTEand congratulations to Freespirit on baby Max, though it's been so long now he's probably walking[/QUOTE]
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: thankyou my lovely DROPSOFJUPITER
PIXTOTTS i think the RNLI is very popular wherever you go, our village have jumble/book sales throughout the year for them too
Yes i completely agree with you, the small ones do lose out and they are the ones who really need help, my DD1 is a county rep for a large breast cancer charity and the amount of donations they get is unbelievable, and the best one my DD1 collected for one of their appeals was our local football ground, men were straightaway digging deep into their pockets which i found really heartwarming. And yes i believe charity begins at home too. Oh your poor friend i hope she is ok today
MRSINVISIBLE glad you had a lovely birthday
CHRISSYG oh god my oven has been needing a clean for months, i put it off and put it off because i have to lay on the dog bed to do it, it is so low down on the floorOMG that poor poor girl and her family, no wonder people rioted, the people that make these decisions need to live in the real world for a bit.
MCCULLOCH oh that is so lovely of you to do that
MANDCO YESSSSSSSS that is the one, he kept on going back to the station waiting for his owner for 10 years or more, and of course being a husky (we have and had huskys) it was even more upsetting for us, never again on christmas eve haha. The staffroom hamper sounds perfect
KISSMENOW hi, it is hard when we have had a rough year to get in the mood for christmas, a few christmas films with some hot choc and me time might stir up a few christmassy feelings
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY wow you have been very productive this morning, i would love to have seen them but i couldnt stand the crowds. And yes i would have needed the toilets before 9am too#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -

Hi all thank you again for all your help with the film. We were so lucky with the lantern parade the miserable weather we'd had all day cleared up and it was just brisk not perishing. I love that sort of temperature when you have to be out doing things. Dd waz so proud to be in the parade and it culminated in fireworks and we got the lantern back that she had made which was a lovely surprise. She said she felt christmassy and as we drove down our road someone has proudly put up to their xmas decorations and lights which was the icing on the cake. Oh said he could smell the cold on us as we came in.
Really need t o get on with xmas preps ive not done much. I've got most of my bits for the shoe box. I'm on the fence about our foodbank. My friend volunteers and thinks only about 4 out of 10 people are genuine. Especially the ones that arrive and leave in taxi's. But those four are in genuine need. There is always a cohort who ruin it for everyone whatever the setting I suppose. The ones who complain bitterly that it is only lidl brands also annoy me. I don't do a special trip to lidl to get food for you there - its where I have to shop for me!!! Rant over. I've told her to stop telling me.
Hope everyone is well x0
