freespirit Robeson designs was me :) I waste so much time watching her videos some days :rotfl:
GTQ lovely idea for the cake. Someone mentioned orange juice *thumbs up* you could also soak the fruit in tea, ideally overnight but a few hours would do the trick and that keeps moist and gets more moist leaving it after cooking!
Will have everything crossed for JJ or Wednesday!
The rain is drumming down outside and it is quite windy. I have no idea why I am awake at this hour, OH is up and gone to work and I didn't drop off again fully once he had gone. Debating getting up and doing some cleaning but stopping tucked up in bed catching up on here seemed a much better idea :)
I might wrap another hamper today - the pamper one for my mum - my resistance to wrapping isn't going well haha.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

What are your thoughts on this?

I generally give token gifts to those in my Arabic class but was getting a bit stuck on what to do this year. Suddenly thought this morning that I have small loaf tins so what about making Christmas cakes? Do you think that we need to conform to square or round cakes?

I won't be able to feed some for religious reasons, but I will simply decorate/wrap them differently, although I am not sure what to do to keep them moist enough.

Thats a lovely idea I was just looking at a recipe which said feed with apple juice or alcohol (alcohol for me!!)

MSGIGGLEWICK Your elf door is lovely it's so cute!

More pics of hampers & crafting please, I love seeing other peoples makes.

Hope you are feeling better FREE

Love the penguins on the John Lewis Ad.

The jewellery advent calendar looks fab, thanks ChrissyG wish I had someone to buy it for.

I will have to just go with the chocolate ones this year as my boys have stated they are too old for the lego ones (12 & 16) although I may hunt out out the old lego city ones and make them up myself ;-)

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRS INVISIBLE

    Hugs to all

  • Thank you all for your ideas on the chocolate orange replacement... think I'll try & find the aero bauble... what a shame they no longer do a mint version of the chocolate orange.
MSGIGGLEWICK your Elf door is wonderful!
mrs-moneypennyit was indeed an umbrella for a dog! Something similar to this

I actually lol'd at your dog in a pram story!

No Christmas related news as such to report. Am trying to give every room a good clean & declutter & sort into boxes to either Ebay, carboot or CS over the coming months.
Have lots of Ebaying to do over the weekend but may try & venture out & around a market Saturday afternoon, looking for some inspiration on what to gift the men in my life. They're so difficult! So far have a pot noodle each!!

Hope your DD has a safe trip home FREESPIRIT & has made some wonderful memories
Thoughts are with you JJ Hope they can sort you out soon
  • Wondering if any of my Christmas lovelies can help. My friend wants to find an old Christmas film that might be called Christmas Tree. It was about a young boy with leukemia and he wants wolves for Christmas and his dad gets them hides them in the basement but when the mum and dad come home from a Christmas eve party they are howling in the cellar and the boy has died by the tree. It sounds horrific to me but my friend swears it ws a great movie. She says shes searched ebay and amazon and although there are films called tye Christmas Tree it is never that one. Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

On a more uplifting note dd is taking part in the lantern parade tonight that is part of the Christmas switch on. Hoping the weather picks up as it should be fabulous.

Junior j I think your an inspiration and freespirit your just a lovely person and everyone else who keep s this thread alive and moving and are so caring and warm. For us lurkers you are little twinkles of Christmas lights all year round which is a bigger compliment than rays of sunshine in my opinion. Thank you all x x x x

    Happy Birthday MRSINVISIBLE! :j

justb woah too old for lego!? your boys are crazy! I'm 25 and was very proud of my playmobil one last year :D give it a few years and the lego ones will be cool again. I even made a special visit to the lego shop when I was in Leeds :D was very tempted by some very lovely Christmas sets.... If I could justify the price I'd be buying a Santa's workshop but £60 may be a bit much to be spending on lego for myself :( lol
