How lovely ChrissyG! I hope you enjoy choosing your extra treats.
For those who like to buy charity cards, but balk at massive mark-ups, Aldi have some nice ones in, 50p goes to either Barnardo's or The Prince's Trust, packs of 30 fairly run of the mill ones for Barnardo's, modern designs, and packs of eight luxury cards for the PT, also modern designs. I've just realised that every single box/pack of Christmas cards I saw had a secular - non-religious - design. I hope that they do stock some that show The Reason For The Season, or perhaps previous experience shows they don't sell? Sad.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Sorry not been around for a while but had severe set back x Christmas planning kept me going lol x
I have started to put a food parcel together for my sister as money tight and they have 3 kids x buy one get one free things so not perishable x going to put in box/ basket if big enough but need a tag. Don't want her thinking it charity so can you help me think of appropriate title for it x0 -
freespirit hope you are feeling better. baby Max is gorgeous x
pinknfluffy how is your job going? what does your job involve? we don't have a supervisor!
trendyjenny that sounds a lovely idea for a hamper. Can't help with the title though!
chrissyg what a lovely surprise! enjoy spending it.
pixtotts hope you find your coat. it is so annoying when you lose things. I love your shelving, it is fab!
mrsmoneypenny I have seen umbrellas for dogs! not sure I would subject our dog to one!
sorry to all those I have missed - I need to start posting more often so I don't have to read back so far!
My ds 1 has gone to France on the school exchange. I hope he gets a nice family and has a good time.
I ordered some chocolates from Thorntons yesterday for OH and the boys for Christmas. I used a 20% off code so got a few bargains although I had to ring them this morning as they overcharged me. I also got some 70% dark chocolate for me!
I thought the fireworks had finished but they have just started again - I would say 8.40 is a bit late. The dog barks everytime one goes off so I hope they don't last long.saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Haha I am a massive harry potter fan
newthrift - did you spot the shoe column on the left hand sideI love shoes....
Ruth_honey - don't worry I think I've successfully filled most of those gaps now.I'm so glad I'm not the only person waits for books to come out in paperback. Well you'll see some of mine are hard back, but if it's a series I like to get them all in the same version, been waiting a year nearly for one to come out in paper back ggrrr!... I have also swapped the harry potter that doesn't match with my little sisters so they are all the bright coloured ones now ... still o the search for 1, 2 and 3 in hardback though.
I just decided I'm tidying my room tonight so I can tidy up the boookcase!
Did I mention in here yet that I've lost my winter coat? It's a skirted woolen bright red coat, and it's disappeared off the face of the earth!
I love it! I'm really really fussy it took me 2 winters to find it about 5 years ago, we've searched everywhere we can think of even places it's clearly not, it's bright red and hardly folds up small but still no sign. Started to give in to the fact I'm going to have to start looking for a new one
x
Glad you've filled the gaps. Thought I was gonna have to send you a box of books to fill the shelves!
Hope you find the coat soon. It's crazy how some things like that go missing. My mum lost a pair of my red pjs that's I'd left at hers. This was in jan 2012. They turned up last week!!! :eek:freespirit66 wrote: »CHRISSYG oh what a fab surprise that is brilliant

Haven't tallied my ones up yet, but there were loads that I hadn't even heard of. Watched Jack Frost today. Thought I'd seen it before, but apparently not.
There's quite a few Christmas films in amazons 4 DVDs for £10 offer. Going to get The Family Stone, Edward Scissorhands and Die Hard, I think. Any other suggestions???freespirit hope you are feeling better. baby Max is gorgeous x

Fireworks still going on here. They can let them off until at least 11pm! It may even be later as it's bonfire night. Turn the tv up and try and distract your dog with something else if you can.
The cat isn't too fussed tonight. She's staying in, but they don't seem to be the loud bangs that we had around Diwali, so she's coping.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Just a quickie, just had a message from Jess. She has asked me to let you know that unfortunately, there wasn't a bed for her so she is still at home. Waiting to get a call hopefully in the next 2 days.
I told her that if she doesn't get one, the hospital will have us to answer to and no one will mess with us!A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Just watched the end of 'A Christmas Carol' on moviemix - jealous of all you who has Christmas24, I wish they did it on freeveiw. I wrapped my managers gift - Cath Kidston mug with 2 x hot choc sachets, Body shop handcream and Cath Kidston tissues. £12.50 total spend
Wrapped in some CK paper red and white spotted paper they gave me and then in cellophane - once I find the instructions on posting photos i'll get one on!
pixtots - ahh yes I spy them now in the corner, I have rather large shoe addictionI saw someone post a china cabinet they had re-designed in to a shoe cabinet and I desperately want to do one, but I haven't landed on a cabinet that I want and at the right price yet.
trendyjenny that's a lovely idea. I will try and have a think for a title but there is lots of creative people on here i'm sure someone will come up with one
