freespirit66 - I am feeling much better thankyou, I think I had a 48 hour flu thing, but all better, just a bit sniffly now, which is much easier to cope with haha!

Ruth_honey - Just to make you a bit more jealous....this is an old picture, it is a total mess right now, and books are now colour coordinated, it's like a rainbow :D

Peppapig - I was bought a kindle I think in the hopes of keeping my books down.... nope if I really like a book on the kindle I buy it in paper too! :o! lol Definitely not very MSE... :/

You clearly need to buy more books-I can see gaps! :rotfl:
My shelves in the bedroom are three rows deep with books. I've been trying to use the library more, but if I really like a book, I end up buying it myself too. A few books I've read and thought 'I'm glad I didn't bother buying that one.' There are a few authors that I HAVE to have their books in paperback. Hubby once bought me a hardback one as it was out in time for a Christmas/birthday and it's messed up my bookcase! Looks all out of place because it's so much taller. :(

I spy harry potter books good choice x
Haha I am a massive harry potter fan :D

newthrift - did you spot the shoe column on the left hand side ;) I love shoes....

    Ruth_honey
    - don't worry I think I've successfully filled most of those gaps now ;) .I'm so glad I'm not the only person waits for books to come out in paperback. Well you'll see some of mine are hard back, but if it's a series I like to get them all in the same version, been waiting a year nearly for one to come out in paper back ggrrr!... I have also swapped the harry potter that doesn't match with my little sisters so they are all the bright coloured ones now ... still o the search for 1, 2 and 3 in hardback though.

I just decided I'm tidying my room tonight so I can tidy up the boookcase!

Did I mention in here yet that I've lost my winter coat? :'( It's a skirted woolen bright red coat, and it's disappeared off the face of the earth! :'( I love it! I'm really really fussy it took me 2 winters to find it about 5 years ago, we've searched everywhere we can think of even places it's clearly not, it's bright red and hardly folds up small but still no sign. Started to give in to the fact I'm going to have to start looking for a new one :(

    welcome to any newbies/returnees

Freespirit glad you are feeling a bit better. Def early days with baby Max and dd is bound to have a few wobbles esp with the change in hormones hope the blues pass quickly.

Chrissyg what a lovely suprise today. congrats on the job transfer

Pixtotts glad your feeling better too and love the book case slighty jealous as always wanted one like that but don't even have a useable wall that big. Hope you manage to find your coat its so frustrating when you misplace something esp when you spent so long finding it in the first place.

Pinknfluffy hope things settle quickly in your new job they just need to get to know you.

Our tree goes up on the 1st of dec not long now just need to decide on a colour theme
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk
  • Well got bros gf to buy for too. Apparently she doesn't know if she is buying for us (she is coming for new years) so need to put a little money towards that.

Well I emailed Twinings and Taylors of Harrogate and told them about my parents and asked if they could put anything towards the hampers. I got a small bag of coffee and ten Yorkshire tea bags from Taylors and a few tea samples from twinings.

Bro is near about done, just need to get a small bottle of booze to go with his bartenders handbook (£1 in a charity shop) and a cocktail shakers set £6.99 from B&M (was a Boots one i think from last year as it had the stickers on). Got loads of coffee from £land for dad.

Me and a friend of mine from the states are also doing joint gifts to the family. Ever since my sister was little she wanted Candyland the board game. He managed to get the minnie mouse version for her. I am getting my brother a bit more booze on my end from both of us.

For my sister im thinking of raiding £world's make up section as its amazing what you can find or a second hand xbox 360 game and some gaming snacks.

  • Popped into B&M this morning on my way to collect DDs 3 for 2 presents from Argos & they had king size pot noodles 2 for £1.50 so I got one each for Mr C & DS stockings.
They also had Aunt Bessie boxes of stuffing for 29p & Dr Oetker baking & cake decorating items for 29p & 39p as well.
A fun present idea for a dog lover I saw was a dog umbrella!
    Hope this helps someone.
Sorry for the short post but I'm on my phone & it's difficult to write.
Am waiting in the car with the Christmas Good Housekeeping mag to read
