Today was meant to be a day of making a start of Christmas preparations however a poorly bunny rabbit and a 700 pound vets Bill has put a stop for that, thank God for pet insurance because we couldn't have just left him.

I can't remember who mentioned about the postpals? But thank you :) I have begun working my way through and writing a short card and going to see if I can spot some offers on small things they would like to send also. I have told friends about it too, it's a lovely thing!!!!

Time to finish my cuppa and then tidy up :)
That was me :) Glad to hear more people are spreading the smiles :) I've actually just sat and finished wrapping up my Elf gifts to 4 pals for them for December. Wrote their cards to them and their siblings and parents too. Have been working my way through the list on the website to try and get a card sent to everyone. Kids have been helping with that too :)
Thank you for the list of books ruthhoney and the post pal link looks fabulous although forgot who mentioned it. This thread is moving along nicely and just been catching up but forgotten to write what I wanted to say down. So hugs to all who need them thanks for all the links and ideas and happy birthday to all who need them.
Been a busy weekend not much xmas wish although did get xmas socks for my bf. Im off to do christmas shopping tomorrow so excited. Next week im going to my bf's he lives in london so shall get some more done then. If anyone can recommend anything christmassy to do thia time of year there be appreciated.
Also one more thing is true christmas and christmas 24 worth a watch?
Thank you and sorry for the long post. X

I can't speak for the True christmas channel as I don't get that one, but I do recommend the Christmas 24 one. We get that one lol.
My problem last year was I got too involved in it and very little done pmsl. So this year I'm recording films. A lot of them are ones that haven't been heard of and are new, but that's what I like about them. I'd definitely recommend Secret Santa, The Santa Suit, A Christmas Wish and Christmas in Wonderland. I do have the last 2 on DVD though, which weren't easy to find may I add :(
There's another 2 films that I stupidly accidently deleted last year before getting to see them through. One about Christmas Eve and one with Macaulay Culkin in it. So I keep checking the programme guide to see if I can find them.

simo429 hope your bunny is ok

forgot to mention M&S have started the 1/2 price biscuit tins offers the one I picked up this wk for £5 is santa's house filled with gingerbread men and apparently the lid/roof has twinkling lights though haven't tried them yet as the plastic is still in place so hoping they work.

anyone recommend some budget curling iron/tongs for a teen? she has some of the ones with the ridges on but would like some smooth ones. I don't want to pay loads as she's only really allowed to use heated appliances once a wk or special occasions.

Of the ones I've read, my fave is Calling Mrs Christmas. They are mainly chick lit/light reads as that's what I tend to go for. I'm a nightmare for choosing books by the cover, but I tend to be right. Of course, there are probably loads of great books that I miss out on because they don't look like the sort of thing I'd usually read. Some of those are short stories, so maybe choose those to start with if you don't get much reading time.

    thanks will take a look.

Rampant Recycler I've been Money Tipped!
Just watching a Jamie Oliver show on Food Network and he's got a recipe for Epic Hot Chocolate - My reckoning is that you could put this in a jar and give it to people as a present as it is just dry ingredients you add to milk:

(this is also acting as a reminder for me to make it when I get paid next week!)

4 heaped tbsp good quality cocoa powder (Jamie used Green & Blacks)
    3 heaped tbsp icing sugar
2 heaped tbsp of malted drink such as Horlicks
    2 heaped tbsp cornflour
    100g grated chocolate.

make with 4 heaped tbsps in 2 pts warm milk.

The end result looked like melted chocolate - yummy!

I will get some lovely jars and make it for sisters - Tesco sell the biggest marshmallows I've ever seen so I will probably add 2 or 3 to it along with a bar of chocolate or something :)
