I never turn the corners of the page to mark it either. It's really bugs me. Especially people who fold over a huge amount.

JuniorJ I really hope next week goes well for you and you get lots of lovely visitors. The hospital parking is frustrating, you don't need to pay at out nearest (50 miles) hospital, Inverness but it's backfired totally in that people park there and get the bus to work :( it means it's impossible to get parked if you have a genuine need to get into the hospital.

Miracle on 34th street is on sky 1 at 9pm of anyone's interested :D

Nothing festive achieved today but think I might watch this, have a look at my your home Xmas special and have a small vino

Need to really begin some lists, work out what I still need and need to do. Currently hiding in my living room as it's the only one semi straight again!

Oh forgot to say, I have decided to have a wee christmas party/get together, friends and neighbours mostly, the Sunday before christmas. I've decided to make it a christmas jumper party (though I will put a disclaimer that a scrap of tinsel will be acceptable!) Going to cut some jumper shapes out of standard cheap card blanks and get DD to decorate them for invitations. But any other suggestions old be gratefully received!?

Christmas 24 is also on Virgin media, and it's free on there. We don't have the Sky movies package but get that channel all year round :)
Channel 5 are also showing Christmas films today and tomorrow. Pretty sure next weekend too IIRC. Will double check that later on.
I've also came across another channel that is showing Christmas movies at 2pm during the week............ well I found it on Wednesday there, think it's called SONY TV or something like that :)

I've sat down tonight and made a list of who I still need to get, and prices for each one. Need £200 to buy the remaining presents. so £100 this month and £100 next month. It seems doable....... I hope :/

All the kids are done, just a few stocking fillers to get in, and I always leave it till 2 weeks before Christmas to get their last 2 presents in. Kids change their minds that much now that I leave it to see if they have forgotten anything lol. We take a walk around the toy shops etc 2 weeks before christmas and let them look - not that they know that - and if they spy anything or show a big interest in it then one of us takes them away while the other goes to buy it lol. Makes life so much easier, and kids are bemused as they send their Santa letters off mid-October and they are told they can't change their minds then lol. SO it's nice to see them surprised on Christmas morning when they've complained they can't add to their list :rotfl:

Had a clear out of our 2 bathrooms, kitchen and Utility room today. Emptied everything out, washed cupboards/shelves etc and dumped stuff that was out of date or not needed or put back in the stuff that we do need/use/in date. Also have a box set aside of stuff that was still in date but won't be used for whatever food hamper appeal will be coming up in the schools at Christmas time.
Same for bathrooms, anything that was donatable was put into a bag, things that won't/can't be used were dumped and the whole place cleaned, walls an all!

So that's the cupboards and shelves done for Christmas, made room for the numerous toiletry sets that will be given to us for Christmas, and the walls will just need a quick wipe down once a fortnight to keep on top of things.

Tomorrow I shall attack the cup/plate cupboard, and put the summer chairs in the back :(
I'm getting there slowly but surely lol.

    I seemed to have inadvertently bought the makings of a marvel comics hamper for ds so figured last night that I might as well go the whole hog. I have a mug & chocolate set in vintage decorative box from Iceland & a couple of gift sets, hand wash & shower gel from £land & an aftershave & key ring set (he is 7 but.. just don't ask!) so am now going to wrap it in marvel comic paper (need) and add a new lunch box set & back pack, so if anyone sees any marvel comics stuff that looks like this;

    please let me know :)
Some fab sticker books and activity books available from the Book People
I am just back from DD2s i had to take her to midwife appt (lucky i have got DD1s car) as she is still having contractions and i dont think its safe for her to be driving, the hospital said she was in early labour on sunday and midwife is saying the same, how long can you be in early labour though??? Does anyone on here know? I am so rusty but i never suffered with braxton hicks or early labour pains so i just cant advise her. The midwife has given her some co codamol because her back is painful as well with the contractions so hopefully it will at least take the edge off :o

Oh my goodness I have been trying to catch up with this thread for 3 nights lol. Finally reached the end. Bought some bits of the Book People earlier. Particularly wanted the "winter wonderland" picture books set for my little ones :) the elf will bring a story each day :)
Also had a mooch in a local charity shop this week, they had a basket of adult fiction Christmas books and a basket for children's Christmas books. Bought some of each. Including "a sixpenny christmas" which was in my book people wish list. "that's not my Santa" touch and feel (my boys love this series) Nora Roberts, Carole Matthews and more. DS1 was distracted by the toys ;)

    Hello all xx

FreeSpirit A massive congratulations , he is beautiful , love the name. Hope your daughter is recovering well and getting plenty of rest and cuddles xxx

    Peppa pig happy birthday. x

aliaslotte they look lovely , well done. x

Kittikins I must remember to use TCB more! x

Sorry lovelies can't remember much else.

I go in on Wednesday for my stay in London - be a very lonely time but hopefully it will be well worth it. As if my body has not had enough done to it recently , yesterday at London they tried doing a CT with contract dye - but after trying several times to get a vein they managed to get one but as they left the room and the dye went in the vein blew making the dye leak to surrounding tissues and deforming my arm lol... it was a big panic for them as they raised my arm and kept applying cold packs and waited for doc - they were more worried then me lol. So that meant the scan didn't get done so 3 hours drive there 4 back , congestion fee and 2 hours of parking alone was £9 was all for a horrible arm lol. Never mind.
Now I have a awful cold and sore throat - the sneezing has jarred my neck on the side my shunt tube is so its very sore.. the sneezing keeps making the pressure in my head worse and blacking out my right eye on and off which I hate! I am also trying to keep up with open uni degree!
My dad got married - I didn't go as I had done 12 days in my local neuro hospital and was feeling rough - his other half (my step mum technically) posted a pic today of him her and her kids sayin "my family" I remember when my dad was my family , thats a story for another day though!

Xmas front I need to get better but with all these apps and this vile cold and neck I think I need to do more online shopping - any tips or deals for all ages and interests will be helpful . xx

Another question - when I go to London I will be on bedrest for two days with a thing hanging out my head connected to machines so is there any good kindle books going?

Love and hugs to all. x

JJ you are such an inspiration! I hope you get lots of visits from the lovelies to help pass the time and lift your spirits xxx

Looks like Nectar Adpoints has ceased trading- It was rubbish ever since they redesigned the new website

!!!!!! :( we were counting on these to cover at least one Christmas present throughout the year :( can anyone suggest the best way of spending nectar points? Also do they do a trade up like tesco double club card vouchers? I'd hate to spend them and then see I could have gotten more :rotfl:

Well it's taken over almost the entire time of my week off :( but I'm ready for my first Christmas craft fair! I'm trying something a little different today, so wish me luck!
