I will happily visit u JJ if u feel up to visitors & I am free. I have just downloaded some of Martina Coles books, she writes thrillers if u have not read any of hers, on the other hand if u need rest, may not be good idea as they are unputdownable!A smile costs little but creates much0

The hospital is on great ormand street / queens square. x
MrsInvisable Thank you very much lovely. x x I am blessed wirth good people around me ( I have filtered the bad ones out lol )
Starlet Thank you lovely. x
We had no trick or treaters which is ironic because we have a massive mansion oppisite us which looks spooky even though it has been converted to flats - get a lot of ghost hunters there and in a lot of books. xxNanMias - cyber granddaughter!

Afternoon everyone. We had a busy Halloween last night, went down to see the fireworks at the Titanic Quarter then back to the house for our Halloween party, and fireworks. We've quite a few kids round here but the street I'm in has been the one DH and I grew up in. All our friends we grew up with are still here too, and parents are still in the street. It's like we've just taken the street over :rotfl:
We keep things very traditional here, the way things were done when we were growing up. We don't give out sweets to trick or treaters, we give money. That's what we got when we went round the doors here. SO the coppers etc are saved up from end of August to Halloween to give out, the little piles are placed along the fireplace to lift walking past to open the door lol. Also kids have to sing the traditional song if they want anything - none of this trick or treat business:mad:
I sound like an old bat, but I'm only 30! But I HATE disrespect and children just expecting things for nothing these days. But it's just the way we were brought up, and how we are all now bringing our own children up. That's one of the brilliant things about us all still living hereThere's a new group on Facebook its basically designed to send a Christmas card to Children/Young people who for what ever reason need a bit of a lift at Christmastime.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/857265184306880/
Will see what stamps (if any) I have left and see what I can do.
I'm having a relaxing day today, no spending money and time to have a clear out of the house, and start the clean up for Christmas. Excited now:j
We were taking bets last night as to who would be first in our area to put their christmas tree up. There's always someone here that puts it up todayPay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
BTW over the past couple of weeks I have been asked by people on here via pm about the Postpals charity I send letters etc to.
This is the website here for it http://www.postpals.co.uk/
It's a registered charity run by volunteers some of whom are sick themselves. I like using this one as there is a page dedicated to each child giving a whole history about them and their illness. The people who run the charity also keep check of who gets a lot of post and who doesn't get much post. They also post up updates on the children and unfortunately when the time comes, the death of a child.
They're also on FB too, just search Post Pals.
I hope it's OK to post the link, if not I'm sure it will be removed. But I thought it would be nice to post too in the run-up to christmas. This is our 2nd year doing this and it really put a smile on our faces knowing we had put a smile on other children/parents/siblings faces. Esp if they are in hospital etc.
PS I have just sent a request to have a look at the other link posted here too.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -

Aliaslotte - those hampers look amazing! I'm dying to put some of mine together but as I'm putting perishables in them I need to wait until nearer the time! Booo lol.
We didn't get any trick or treaters last night according to my Oh (I was out) I wasn't expecting any, so we would have had to break into the sweets I've got stashed for Christmas if anyone had knocked! That's assuming OH would have answered the door of course! I'll look forward to the years when we'll hopefully live somewhere that's easier to access, as I love seeing the littlies all dressed up!
As for today I'm about to head to aldi before having a go at making brownies in a Jar to see how it goes. Hopefully better than the cookies in a Jar went! Wish me luck!
Jo xxI'm usually using a phone, so excuse my spelling please!0 -
Afternoon everyone,
JUNIORJ aww thankyou, oh what an awful day you had, it still makes me so mad that we have to pay for hospital car parking, especially when you go in for procedures like you had, you must have been shattered by the end of the day, i hope it goes much better for you next week and that you recover from your cold, i know exactly what you mean about the pressure in your head, if i have a really bad migraine and i sneeze i actually feel relief, weird isnt it! That wasnt very thoughtful of your stepmom to put that but just remember you have your lovely mum and brother, thats all you need! There are some good christmas books on kindle some of them for free.
MRSINVISIBLE aww thankyou, that has put such a picture in my head :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:of you and the wheelie bin, i hope DGS has a fab day tomorrow
