We finally managed to get to the Christmas outlet place in Barnsley and it was worth the wait.
We bought a beautiful fairy tree topper,2 lanterns for the fireplace with battery operated candles and dd bought herself a singing westie wearing a Christmas hat.
The lights and trees were fantastic we are gong to see if they have a sale on after Christmas.
I'm hoping to wrap the rest of the gifts ive got all over the place this weekend and I need to see how full the stockings look. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Freespirit, my ds thinks that nans are young & grans are old. So he tells my mum often, you're still a nanny not a granny. She's loves the compliment.
I also agree with this sentiment lol, no idea why![/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Awww RIP to him and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
I know what it's like to lose your very own Santa. We lost our very own Santa not long ago and Christmas will never be the same again for all of us
He was Santa for over 50 years here, maybe more and it was a running joke in our family when the kids were told that Santa was watching:rotfl: He used to scare us/ then our kids when he dressed up and visited school, youth clubs and name them and talk about our parents names etc and mentioned things we/they had done at home lol. He still is watching us, just from a different place now.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
Two more hampers wrapped, so that's all my hamper style presents done. The other "normal" things can be wrapped up a bit later on. I need to be strict with myself. I have checked my spread sheets (sad perhaps, but very handy) and have spent more than I did last year already. Everyone has multiple things from me, so I need to avoid the temptations of buying extra things. It's just hard!

Hi everyone, I'm back from our last week of the season at our van (sob sob) and the technology ban is also over (yipee) so I plan on spending this evening catching up with all my xmas related threads & pages (starting here of course), now we have finally stopped having ghosts and witches hammer on the door every 5 seconds!
I am a mean mummy and refuse to let mine go trick & treating, I dont really agree with the whole concept, but we did go to a party at the site last night so they dont miss out completely.
I also hand out satsumas rather than sweets!
I did manage to do just a little bit of shopping during the week - Got a santa loo seat cover for £1.99 and 2 little knitted xmas sweaters for our elves £1.99 both from b&m.
Had a quick browse back, loving all the xmas makes, and wrapped hampers.
Also congrats to those with new arrivals impending, new jobs & passing theory tests (sorry I havent had time to jot down names and reply personally).
And welcome "home" to weeclick, and welcome to newbies.
Newthrift - sorry to hear about the redundancy, its never nice, and there is never a right time. But hopefully a decent leaving package & time to prepare is of some consolation.
Gettingtherequickly - I was diagnosed with arthritis in my left hand 3 years ago (aged 34!) due to multiple fractures as a child. I find winter time can be very difficult, the pain is often too much for painkillers to help much. But I swear by a good old soak in deep sea salts, the relief is wonderful, even if only temporary. Also, keep your knees wrapped up warm, and as mobile as possible. Hope the physio give you some useful info and exercises x
Freespirit - CONGRATULATIONS!!! He is adorable x
Edit: Dh is collecting my boots no7 advent calendar tomorrow eeeeeeeeek!!!It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
Hi everyone:D
FeistyFidget. Thanks for the PM. I will read as fast as possible and forward on to someone else. I will include a sheet of paper with a message on as springdreams suggests.:T
Pixtotts. I was also like that but now if I see a book that is a bit dog eared and battered I feel like it is worth a read.
I do :mad:NOT:mad: however…ever…ever….EVER :mad:fold over the corners of a page. If my bookmark is not handy I will use a scrap off an old envelope or a sweetie wrapper to mark the page
Well, I have had a lovely night pottering from shop to shop.
I was very disappointed in Dunelm’s Christmas stuff.:( Nothing at all jumped into the basket.:(
The Range yielded another bauble.:)
Sainsburys had 25% off clothing so DD coat and DH jockeys bought and stashed.:j:j
Labels for the snowman soup have been printed, laminated and cut out ready for when make them up.:D
Happy prepping all
xxxStart by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
