Ha ha Freespirit, I know just how you feel. First couple of years we moved here we had lots of trick or treaters - always the littlies with parents in tow so over by about 7 oclock. Past couple of years we had nobody other than the little boy over the road and I ended up eating lots of chocolate. This year had DGD here but had booked for Halloween circus so didn't get any sweets. Of course I forgot that we'd be home by 6 oclock so raided the personal stash and managed to rake up 7 little choc bars which went pretty quickly so spent the next hour hoping that nobody else knocked. One lot did but we didn't answer the door. I felt awful but DH said it would be worse to open the door and tell them we haven't got anything lol. Next year I'm buying lots and if I have to eat it myself then I'll just have to man up :rotfl:

    Hello all xx

FreeSpirit A massive congratulations , he is beautiful , love the name. Hope your daughter is recovering well and getting plenty of rest and cuddles xxx

    Peppa pig happy birthday. x

aliaslotte they look lovely , well done. x

Kittikins I must remember to use TCB more! x

Sorry lovelies can't remember much else.

I go in on Wednesday for my stay in London - be a very lonely time but hopefully it will be well worth it. As if my body has not had enough done to it recently , yesterday at London they tried doing a CT with contract dye - but after trying several times to get a vein they managed to get one but as they left the room and the dye went in the vein blew making the dye leak to surrounding tissues and deforming my arm lol... it was a big panic for them as they raised my arm and kept applying cold packs and waited for doc - they were more worried then me lol. So that meant the scan didn't get done so 3 hours drive there 4 back , congestion fee and 2 hours of parking alone was £9 was all for a horrible arm lol. Never mind.
Now I have a awful cold and sore throat - the sneezing has jarred my neck on the side my shunt tube is so its very sore.. the sneezing keeps making the pressure in my head worse and blacking out my right eye on and off which I hate! I am also trying to keep up with open uni degree!
My dad got married - I didn't go as I had done 12 days in my local neuro hospital and was feeling rough - his other half (my step mum technically) posted a pic today of him her and her kids sayin "my family" I remember when my dad was my family , thats a story for another day though!

Xmas front I need to get better but with all these apps and this vile cold and neck I think I need to do more online shopping - any tips or deals for all ages and interests will be helpful . xx

Another question - when I go to London I will be on bedrest for two days with a thing hanging out my head connected to machines so is there any good kindle books going?

Love and hugs to all. x

Hi, this thread moves sooooo fast! Freespirit, congratulations, l know how much you will enjoy being a nana, oooooooooooh yes!!!. JJ how you stay so positive and upbeat amazes and inspires me, hope it goes well, will be thinking about you.
If anyone hears reports of a crazy woman raiding /hiding in/ garden refuse bins, its me! I was sweeping up leaves, got them on the shovel , opened the bin, and dropped the lot in! Bin was newly emptied, so l couldnt reach the shovel to get it out, so l tipped it on its side tried to reach in, but had to crawl part way in, the lid flipped down and whacked my derrierre and as l vot back out l was covered in the bloody leaves l had just deposited therein!
I went to friends halloween kids party with the baked goodies l had done, came home and the trick or traters all came, had to give them sweeties and apples, and laugh at some of the costumes
Not sure what today will bring, but as it is dgs birthday on sunday buying a card should be on the joblist.
Have a lovely day, we are nearly at christmas month countdown!,
  • Morning everyone! Only had one lot of trick or treaters at the door but I too hid and felt bad as they kept knocking but I didnt have anything as we normally get none.
The hampers look amazing trying to put off mine and hold off wrapping until december.
JJ good luck with everything shall be thinking off you I normally just browse the freebie section on my kindle lol.
Also my local library does ebooks which you borrow just like in the library its a app called overdrive media and then I found my library. Not sure if that's any help.
Right im off to work trains later as per usual. X

  • So many of you with quiet halloweens.....the new fairly new housing estate that i live on goes all out, its like mini usa and we have trick or treat tourism! Car loads of people turn up park and walk the estate!! I must have Answered the door 50 times and gone through bags of sweets. Its lovely though...mainly young kids and its all done by 8 at the very latest. Few fireworks this week and then its nearly here.... Love this time of year!
  • :bdaycake: Happy Birthday to Peppapig :bdaycake: Hope that you have a lovely day!

I'll have to go shopping today as I need a 70th birthday card. I looked last week when I was out but I couldn't see one that I liked!
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.
