Thanks for the heads up on Nectar Adpoints. I built up quite a few points with them, I don't shop at Mr S. but I do have their gas and leccy. I just used most of my points the other week to buy a lovely Regatta rucksack at Argos, I use rucksacks when shopping to keep my hands free.
I managed to resist the temptation of the Woman and Home Christmas issue, at £4.10 a throw. That was in Aldi. I won a subscription to Good Housekeeping with a Cosyfeet caption competition earlier this year and their Christmas issue is a treat of a read.

I like to use seasonal scents in my toiletries around Christmas, the Avon Cranberry and Cinnamon shower gel is no longer available but I have some left from last year. As well as that I bought the Original Source seasonal edition raspberry and cocoa shower gel which is on offer (£1.05) with the rest of the OS gels at Wilko's atm. These are such good quality and come up so regularly at Wilko's on offer that there is no need to build a stash of toiletries.

    Long post warning ;)
Well this post is fast moving if you don't keep up, I am about to start my second cuppa and have watched 1/2 a Christmas film whilst reading!! Thankfully I remembered to open wordpad to type as I go!
Fieryangel - Never apologise for offloading, we are good listeners and very supportive :) Have you considered instead picking maybe one item or a couple of smaller/easier/make ahead items and mix them with purchased items? That way you still are able to give something you made, without it causing you too much stress and taking it out of you!
Irishrose - I hope the dentist went well, sorry it has interviened with Christmas shopping plans! edit: that wasn't too bad going in the long run then :)
Jobo88 - 17  I salute you!!! Ooo yes I have ear-marked a few items in hope I can pick them up in the after Christmas sales.
nitnurse - Will keep my eyes peeled and let you know if I see an angel in red or gold.
Chrissy - hahahaaa I love the santa bent over picutre ;)
Freespirit - woohooo congratulations to you and your family & what a beautiful name.
    Bunbun2 - What wonderful news :T
We don't get any trick'or'treaters at our house, which I do miss as I love passing out the sweets and seeing all the outifts and excited little faces! I grew up living in a village and now we live in a field :rotfl: (not quite but more or less :p) OH did nip across to one of the houses we rent out and he had forgot it was halloween and a couple of kids knocked on so he did give them £1 each :)
GTQ - Awww it's so sad, if they do new adverts they just won't be the same.
    aliaslotte - love those hampers!
pinknfluffy - glad you had a nice trip to the van and lucky you with the no7 advent calendar, it looks fab!!! Thank you :) yes good package and time to prepare is making it easier, just takes some motivation whilst at work now haha
JJ - Sending you lots of hugs!!

I wrapped OH's gifts last night so he can't accidentally stumble across them :p Also brandy-ed the cakes again, they smell so lovely.
Loving seeing the Christmas films on the telly :j it will keep me going whilst doing the ironing once I have caught up here :xmassmile

Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

    Aww thanks Gettingtherequickly and Quidsey

You should be able to find me in the National hospital for neurology and neurosurgery - would be lovely to see any of you guys! How cool would that be :). U can PM me if you want my number :) The hospital is on great ormand street / queens square. x

MrsInvisable Thank you very much lovely. x x I am blessed wirth good people around me ( I have filtered the bad ones out lol )

    Starlet Thank you lovely. x

We had no trick or treaters which is ironic because we have a massive mansion oppisite us which looks spooky even though it has been converted to flats - get a lot of ghost hunters there and in a lot of books. xx

I'll come visit you too if you'd like. Don't want to overwhelm you, or tire if out if you're not up to visits, but I know how boring hospitals can be. When are you going in and do you know how long for? Eta-read back properly and saw you're going in on Wednesday.

Thank you Freespirit, JJ, 3forholidays and BabyBoo for your birthday wishes, I've had a lovely day. Long lunch with the family and some gorgeous pressies. Am feeling very blessed tonight. DGD has gone home now so I will miss her but it will be nice not to have to get up early in the morning lol. :D

JJ, I was thinking about you earlier so glad you've posted. Hope all goes well next week. How frustrating it must have been to go through all that travelling and expense and have nothing to show for it. You've got the right attitude though, you never seem to dwell on the stuff you can't do anything about. I hope I can be like you if am ever in such a difficult situation. Hope some of the lovelies on here can make it in to see you and that you can still post on here when you feel able. I've downloaded lots of Kindle books recently (only the free ones lol, I'm too tight to pay unless I have too). I like crime fiction and anything Christmassy. I don't do romance unless it something like Marion Keyes because it's usually either so Barbara Cartland it makes me feel sick or its so badly written that it makes me cringe. Of course I could just be an embittered old hag but I hope not! Happy to pass on any good free titles if you read either of those categories.

Irish Rose I'm very jealous of the close knit community you have. We moved around a lot when I was a child so I was determined that while mine were growing up we'd stay in one place which we did.

BabyBoo, glad you're home and hope you're soon feeling much stronger. Keep on reading.

McCulloch, I can highly recommend the Cranberry and Cinnamon handwash that they do in Aldi (think I also saw it in B&M recently). It smells lovely and the scent lingers on your hands too. Oh, and it's only 99p and looks really festive as it's red.

Happy November everyone, not long to go now!!!!!

    Afternoon everyone,

JUNIORJ aww thankyou, oh what an awful day you had, it still makes me so mad that we have to pay for hospital car parking, especially when you go in for procedures like you had, you must have been shattered by the end of the day, i hope it goes much better for you next week and that you recover from your cold, i know exactly what you mean about the pressure in your head, if i have a really bad migraine and i sneeze i actually feel relief, weird isnt it! That wasnt very thoughtful of your stepmom to put that but just remember you have your lovely mum and brother, thats all you need! There are some good christmas books on kindle some of them for free.

Thanks lovely :) yeah it did hurt my feeling I won't lie but I guess thats life and I shall soon get over it :). As for the day it shattered me - my uncle reckons I should look into getting travel money back as I am on ESA so should look into it! Hows Little max? x

    IM A NANA :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

Just had a phone call from DD2 i could barely understand she sounded drugged up to the eyeballs saying 'Hes Here' and thats all i know she was just speaking gobbledegook :rotfl::rotfl:she went into proper labour yesterday about 6pm went into hosp about midnight but she was only 3cm dilated so they said she would be better off at home, then 7am her waters went, that is all i know and although i missed the birth i am just so thankful that he is here safe and sound and she is ok, will update you later with the details

RUTHHONEY thankyou that is what i needed someone to say which one so its a deal we will read along together :) aww thankyou for thinking of me i actually have that one on my kindle i think, mmmm your dinner sounded yummy

Congratulations to you & the family! He looks so cute!

I've now finished my library book, so can get started on The Christmas Party. :j If anyone has a Nook, it's only 80p at the moment. Have told amazon about the lower price with their competitors, so they might reduce the price to match (fingers crossed)

The meal was lovely. The gammon was big enough to do sandwiches for two other meals too. Heat up with some BBQ sauce and it's a mega quick meal.

Had a Halloween BBQ yesterday afternoon. The weather was lovely here. No trick or treaters came, though. Just as well as I'd eaten all the haribo minions. :rotfl:

See this is something I'm now torn on.... im the kind of person who doesnt even break the spines on a book my bookcase is full of read books that look brand new. But... last Christmas I was given a book made up of letters from the front of books. Wish I could remember what it was called, but it warmed me to the idea lol. X

Sounds interesting. If anyone knows the name of this book, please post.
    Hi everyone:D

FeistyFidget. Thanks for the PM. I will read as fast as possible and forward on to someone else. I will include a sheet of paper with a message on as springdreams suggests.:T

Pixtotts. I was also like that but now if I see a book that is a bit dog eared and battered I feel like it is worth a read.
I do :mad:NOT:mad: however…ever…ever….EVER :mad:fold over the corners of a page. If my bookmark is not handy I will use a scrap off an old envelope or a sweetie wrapper to mark the page

Well, I have had a lovely night pottering from shop to shop.
I was very disappointed in Dunelm’s Christmas stuff.:( Nothing at all jumped into the basket.:(
    The Range yielded another bauble.:)
Sainsburys had 25% off clothing so DD coat and DH jockeys bought and stashed.:j:j

Labels for the snowman soup have been printed, laminated and cut out ready for when make them up.:D

    Happy prepping all
    xxx

I never turn the corners of the page to mark it either. It's really bugs me. Especially people who fold over a huge amount.
I've got some bookmark calendars which are so handy. 3 for £1 in the card factory and they have several designs to choose from too. So useful. :)

aliaslotte. Your hampers are stunning and you have given me a major idea for XMAS if not 2014, as I am almost done, then for 2015. Never occurred to me to use a catering object as the hamper. Really effective and useful presentation case. Love it. x

It was originally going to be a lidded saute pan, but when I saw the pyrex dish, I couldn't resist. Having looked at the price of traditional hamper baskets, I couldn't justify the expense on something that likely wouldn't be used, hence trying to come up with something that would be a useful part of the gift. :o
