!!!!!! :( we were counting on these to cover at least one Christmas present throughout the year :( can anyone suggest the best way of spending nectar points? Also do they do a trade up like tesco double club card vouchers? I'd hate to spend them and then see I could have gotten more :rotfl:

I don't know about a trade up but I spent mine in Argos and Ebay .

Yesterday I put the makings of fat free mincemeat in my slowcooker. It is now reducing down but tastes amazing and my house smells like Christmas. I have to wait till it reduces then cool and add some booze, I sterilised a couple of kilner jars to store. I make this mainly for my mum as she cant eat fat but it's great to keep in the fridge for mince pies and even on it's own with vanilla ice cream or custard.
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

  • Good morning, hope everyone is well and Christmassy, I put all the Halloween tat back in the loft and did a quick reccy of the Christmas stuff...... found 3 boxes of crackers that l can't remember buying, so at least l don't have to pay full whack for this year.
Today is DGS birthday, 12 years old, soon be a teenager! (cries of 'you don't look old enough to have a teenage grandnib!) like yeah, l do. DD arrived so off to gas.

I am hoping to do this too but no dunelm mills round here. Still sure I'll see a white tree soon enough :)

I bought one on Asda online for £5 :T just have to find the time to go collect it now lol.

Miracle on 34th street is on Sky 1 again today if you're like me and missed it last night:o So my plan is to sit and wrap up he presents for the children in my class while watching that :).
I know I had a different plan for today but screw that one:rotfl:

Older kids are off to their cousins today for a sleepover (they don't start back to school till Tuesday) and heard over on Hot UK Deals that the Argos 3 for 2 starts again this Wednesday. DH went up this morning to the loft when kids went off and had a look at what we actually do have for them, sat them in separate piles and took photo's of each one to remind us what we have and what it looks like.
Turns out we don't have as much as what we thought we had. Even DH said I thought we had more lol. But then we remembered that even though we bought loads in sales etc last year, they were given out as birthday presents for our kids and others lol. They also get a token gift if they get best girl or boy i school.
There was also stuff that we had and kids didn't want/lost interest in over the year and I've sold them on FB. We were wondering why we had more money in each envelope that we should have lol.

So yeah, we've now got a picture of what we have, and I'll have a look at what we may need from Argos and get them on Wednesday. But honestly they don't need that much more so I'll be very good lol. I don't mind though as they don't have nor won't be getting iPads/tablets etc. They're too young for them and they don't need them as their children.

Of the ones I've read, my fave is Calling Mrs Christmas. They are mainly chick lit/light reads as that's what I tend to go for. I'm a nightmare for choosing books by the cover, but I tend to be right. Of course, there are probably loads of great books that I miss out on because they don't look like the sort of thing I'd usually read. Some of those are short stories, so maybe choose those to start with if you don't get much reading time.
