Can tell were getting to that special end of the year been a week since I've been on here properly and SOOOO much to catch up on!!
 FieryAngel - Welcome
I always overestimate what I can get done. Unfortunately I work best under pressure, so start in August and I still get nothing done till December... I'm my own worst enemy! I'm a big fan of the make one thing does multiple people, like lip balms, or truffles. Saves loads of time, and my friends love my truffles I get requests for them now haha! I get requests for them now haha!
IrishRose12 - I'm glad your dentists visit was better than you were expecting.
 freespirit66 - Congratulations!! :j
Can't remember who was talking about it but I had a Nanny, and a Grandma, Nanny wouldn't be called Grandma because she said it sounded old, Grandma wouldn't be Nanny because she said they look after children, worked out great really meant no confusion over which grandparents we meant . Grandads had to be complicated and have big John and little Doug. lol. . Grandads had to be complicated and have big John and little Doug. lol.
aliaslotte - your hampers look fab!
nitnurse-not2 - Totally with you on the corner folding!! I told someone off for doing it recently actually haha!
I use any old bit of paper for a book mark too actually love finding old books with random bookmarks sat in the back of them. My current book marks include - a lotto ticket (not a winner sadly!), train ticket... from when I was living in Leeds good 3 years ago! and a label off some PJ's actually it has an owl on it wearing glasses and a ribbon it was tied on with so ideal bookmark I think it's a keeper that one actually love finding old books with random bookmarks sat in the back of them. Ruth_honey - I'm back home now The book of writings from the front of books that I was talking about is called - Dedicated To.. the forgotten friendships, hidden stories and lost loves found in second-hand books.
It's a really lovely coffee table type book if you know anyone into books
(I dream of a house with a library one day! lol)
freespirit66 - I've never been trick or treating or had trick or treaters damn countryside! I wish we did! I love halloween, I did a module at uni about folklore, and the lecturer I had usually does interviews this time of year about halloween and bonfire night. That man can tell a good story... Plus he wore a cravat! I also had a lecture on father Christmas... best lectures ever! damn countryside! I wish we did! mandco - thanks for the heads up on the double up nectar points! I think I have £25 ish in points before doubling up! so definitely going to have a look ! !
Now why I've been away... Last Tuesday I went to the theater to see Romeo and Juliette in Contemporary dance it was amazing! definitely worth seeing! They are a modern dance group who do a different Shakespeare play every year. Wednesday was the Avon party a real disappointment, even people who had gone to the effort of phoning up and arranging a different time to come didn't turn up! But I've put all the stuff on a local Christmas selling page on facebook now so fingers crossed...
Then Thursday I went to Leeds, I was actually ill half the time I was there Friday I was a quilt on sofa day my friend was super lovely and looked after me really well. But it was so nice, my friend I stayed with I hadn't seen in 5 years! The guy I was seeing when I was at uni didn't like him, then I've been home 3 years... so 5 years and it was still like it used to be. And Leeds is just Leeds I will always love Leeds, I went for a bit of a drive around Leeds before leaving for home, got a bit emotional, it's amazing how much a place that was home can change so much in just a couple years. I've come home Leedssick. Like home sick, but Leeds isn't home any more.
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

As DDs stockings are almost identical I need an alternative & was hoping for something similar, chocolate & ball like... she does like mint chocolate if that's any help! So if anyone's seen any mint chocolate shaped balls/oranges (mint Matchstick boxes are too big) or have any ideas & could point me in the right direction that would be great.
 Many thanks
I saw in Tesco last week that Aero (I think) now do a big bubble chocolate that is just a ball! It's a bit bigger than a chocolate orange but would do!
Why don't you melt down some mint chocolate and make your own with a ball shaped mould? Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

MrsChristmas Like Lulu just said - Aero do a easter egg sort of chocolate ball - I know studio 24 sell them for a few quid. Maybe you could get one of those plastic balls filled with sweets like HB do.. Maybe more will come out later this month that would fit the match you want. xNanMias - cyber granddaughter!

Evening. I've had a fun filled weekend with Halloween things with the kids. Can start thinking towards Christmas properly now.
I have my OH's birthday to buy for next week. He will be 40 and I have no idea what to get him. It's my sisters 30th the following week.
Someone on here mentioned the basket of things relating to the year she was born with little tags. I'm doing that for my sister, but stupidly showed my Oh so now I can't do the same idea for him lol. So far for my sister I got her the original 7" vinyl copy of Band aid 'do they know its Christmas' a made in 1984 ages to perfection T shirt, a pin badge from the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. I have a few other ideas for a film etc all relating to 1984.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0

            Hi,
I meant to join in again this year but it has been a hell of year. I am now having seizures and seeing the neuro this month.
I am on a tight christmas budget this xmas, £15 max per person in the family. Dad is getting a coffee and relax hamper, mum is getting a pamper hamper, bro is getting a make your own cocktail hamper and I am stuck on what to get the sister lol.“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

Well, have done my first shift as a dinner lady (sorry, midday supervisor) as expected a few of the ladies are less than pleased at my coming in new & being their boss - I lost count of the amount of times I had to list all my childcare qualifications and experience to them!
Lovely to be back in a school environment, but I have my work cut out for me, 18 ladies (and 1 man!) of various ages, beliefs etc all with their own views and opinions, its my job to get us all on the same page, and hopefully bring some organization to what I can only describe was the most hectic and noisy dinner hall I have ever been in!
Nothing christmassy to report, just needed to vent a little xIt's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0

Pixtotts-I've made a note of that book and I'll keep an eye for it as it sounds interesting. Thanks
I'd love a house with a library one day too. Floor to ceiling bookcases and a comfy chair to curl up in...bliss!
Nic2075-have you had a look on Groupon or similar? Maybe there's something a bit different on there. Hubby has done indoor skydiving, segway rally, ghost bus tour, beer festival, brewery tour. I quite fancy taking him on a murder mystery weekend someday.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
