The decorations are going :'( the tree has gone :(
sad times very sad times :(
I took over taking the tree decorations down this year and resorted the ones in the box we've gone from 2 big boxes of everything muddled to 1 box gold, 1 box silver, 1 box of multicoloured, and 1 box of white, and then a box of stuff that we want every year regardless of the colour scheme we go for :D .... I think I have a bit of a OCD .... lol
Been to town this morning too bought dad a christmas card for mum, he didnt get her one this year... he was in trouble! "I love moo" my mum loves cows! lol. and may of accidentally bought a few sheets of paper from Clintons... another of the deer in snow one which I naughtily bought full price before Christmas :o! and a vintagey owl one :D I may go get more if they reduce them more, there were LOADS left... I love the sheets of paper, I'm hoping to sneak to a paperchase, they are all so far away though :(
Trying to get a package together to go to America at the moment though, I sign up to a few snail mail swap things, and this is the second part, a letter of happiness. I took inspiration from 'the jolly pocket postman' and putting little envelopes of quotes and letters and fun stuff through my favourite book of last year. The idea came from a book I received for Christmas from my cousin which is made up of inscriptions found in second hand books and the first one is a letter to his dad which finishes "Don't feel obliged read it if it doesn't grab you. You can view his as a short letter with 300 pages attached". How cute!!!
I'm going to keep sending people books with letters in the front pages from now on! lol

    Ninth Anniversary Combo Breaker
Happy belated Birthday to Robbie I love his pillow pets.
Hope everyone who has been sick is feeling better!
Well diet starts today again as I have been eating so much carp and drinking loads. I am back to sticking with SW. I have a bit of the lurgy again and am sure it is due to being a bit run down with so much unhealthy stuff. I find it hard about 8 or 9 oclock at night when I want something sweet and we still have some chocolates which were given as gifts!!!!
I will have to start soon and give the house a complete clean including carpets and clearing out cupboards due to us putting it on the market in February. I just can not be bothered but I have to start soon.

  • Debtnot - great cake :T

Reen - :hello: welcome to the thread. Good luck with the challenges. I also do SPC but sad to say that there's not a lot happening in that direction atm :(

OMO - Pillow Pets look great. Fantastic saving - shame about the cost of delivery. I always try to justify the cost of delivery against the cost of fuel and parking.

Mrsinvisible - I can imagine how sad you all were last night. Hopefully it wont be too long till you can all meet up again.

Feisty - hope Mr. F's sickness has passed now and that he hasn't shared it with you. Don't bl**dy know it alls make you sick.

Well the next phase of the declutter has taken place. Haven't been as ruthless as I would have hoped cos if i'd got rid of all the clothes that didn't fit, I would have been left with very little in the wardrobe. Really need to get a grip and sort that part of my life out. :(

Hope to give bedroom and real good clean tomorrow (shift furniture) which is a challenge in itself as it is only a small room so you have to do a bit, move stuff, do a bit and then move some more. Hopefully we will also get the new (only had it over 12mths) tv bracket fitted as the one we have doesn't tilt and the screen just looks all black. Mainly listen to tv anyway rather than watch especially when I'm tidying or having a soak in the bath.

Well hope everyone is safe with the dreadful weather some of you are having and don't have to deal with too much damage. I think we are ok atm but I think things have got to change later.

    Take care everyone

Ours is supposed to be appraised in February and we will put it on the market end of feb or march time. Dogs have wrecked the cream carpets so I'm going to hire a rug doctor and pray it tones the stains down (we couldn't have laminate flooring as its against our residents agreements). The flat is two bedrooms and houses my work room in one. Somehow we have to turn the work room back into a bedroom, and hide the fact we are over-flowing with stuff! We've just set aside 300 DVDs, blurays and CDs to send off to musicmagpie. And I am about to grab an ebay pile! Free listings until tomorrow ;)

House has finally been de-christmased. We started about 11.30 today and only finished about an hour ago. Our Cat is not happy as he hates change, and I say this every single year, but our lounge now looks massive and bare.

I haven't yet hoovered or dusted or had a big deep clean, but will worry about that tomorrow or Monday.

Work was far more bearable on Friday. Thanks for your nice comments. I had to do a 12 hour day and I have brought some work home with me, and I am going to do as much as I can cope with now (whist also watching Nativity).

Hopefully one last big push this weekend and work will be more up to date again. (I let more of my team have xmas hols at the same time than I should have, but I wanted everyone to get to spend more time with the their families)

I am not in work on Tuesday Morning as I have a biopsy at hospital :(

I also have Nativity2 to watch, but Hubby (for all his xmas tolerance in other areas) doesn't like any xmas films apart from Elf.

He and kids are currently at Ikea, so whether I actually get to watch Navitity2 while working depends how long they are out for.
    Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once. :D

Happy belated birthdays Robbie and Blackcat.

    Nanamia - Hello :santa2:
    You are back... xx

    OMO - Pillowpets are lovely.

    Reen73 - Welcome

freespirit66 - Loving your challenges - They are all so positive and helping me also xx

Quidsy - Thats an amazing weight loss

    debndot - Cake is gorgeous

mrs-moneypenny - Hope your backache improves

lushlifesaver - I am embarassed to admit, that you have just reminded me that I bought 3 jars of mincemeat for 10p each last Jan and they are still in the kitchen cupboard untouched. :o

katmum - I hope things improve for you

mandco - I love your signature

CHRISSYG - I know this is obvious but also keep your eyes out at your local charity shops for Simpsons DVDs. I got my DS two new Futurama box sets from ours. They also had all the other Futurama boxsets and film length episodes that he already had on DVD (which we didn't get), and the charity shop said its quite normal for people to donate whole "collections".

PloddingAlong - I mainly buy for other relatives and friends during the year and mainly buy my kids nearer xmas as I will know what they are into at that point.

    Evening all,
Well our decs are down and all put away in the loft, still got presents lying around that need a home but that will come in time as the great declutter commences. Like a few others we aim to be moving this year so need to dramatically reduce the amount of carp we have and hopefully make a few extra pennies along the way.

Freespirit I'm loving reading your challenges, your son is a genius for putting it all together, and an absolute credit to you too :)

Hugs to all the poorlies and to those who need them, and welcome to all the newbies...you'll love it here :)

    Lots of love xxxx

Went shopping today with my Mum but she couldn't see a handbag that she liked. :undecided

She said that the big ones were all too big. But the smaller ones might have just been a little too small for her new purse that I bought her for Christmas. So, I'll just have to give her the money as there is no point in me buying something just for the sake of it.
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

  • Hi everyone

Been trying to post on here often but everytime time I do my laptop crashes!

Anyway, doing well for Christmas 2014 so far. Have lots if smellies sets already and now have wrapping paper (some of which can be used as Birthday paper) and Christmas cards.

Me and my OH have agreed to save £20 each pet month and spend £20 per month on Christmas presents. I've bought a sealed money box so will start this on my next pay day.

Been to work today and had a really bad headache and legs were aching. Just hope I'm not coming down with anything. This is the first Christmas I'veworked in retail so have been working loads and been looking forward to a few days off. Just hope I don't spend it in bed!
