Hiya lovelies I've missed so much :( I'm never going to catch up on the last week so will start afresh. Can't believe I've missed Fingers birthday. Photos Sunday please Linky preferably during the carnage to make me feel better about my chaos!
How wonderful to see so many delurkers/ newbies :) I think you are going to love it here, I know I do. X
Freespirit what can I say! you are a blooming superstar, and that DS is a marvel :) Fiesty is right it's truly an amazing pack he's put together. I'm knackered just reading it :) xxx
Mrsinvisible hope the nasty weather has been kind to your garden. I'm not sure when the China contingent are going home, hope you've thoroughly enjoyed every second with them xxx

On the festive front I'm holding out a little longer with my decorations, I can't bear to take them down yet. I will keep Christmas going, just a few more days. I've bought not a single thing in the sales. I am being particularly choosy this year :) I've not even started my lists, I have however spent time with my family and friends- plenty of time. I have a to-do-list which I must chip away at, think I've just been having a little too much fun haha. DGD2 starts nursery on Monday so big changes ahead. xxx

Wanted to say hello to you all. I haven't been sleeping well recently, lots on my mind which will probably tell you all about during the year but too much to say right now. I've been catching up on jobs to do and reading my favourite thread.

I love Freespirit's challenges which are inspiring and thanks for also posting the writing in red - I've copied and saved that for me to look at.

Well my DH has been feeling very ill and developed a strange blister on his back New Year's day so finally persuaded him to go to the doctor's yesterday. He is really hard to drag to doctor's so sign he knew something really wasn't at all right. Turns out he's got shingles so now he's on anti-virals to hopefully limit the attack.

Both my dd and ds haven't had chickenpox so there's a risk that they could come down with it, so I'm crossing my fingers and toes that doesn't happen as I really want them to start back at school and nursery without sickness as we've had such a bad run pre-Christmas.

Finally gave the last Christmas present to a relative on NYD so now reclaimed the present cupboard space to start afresh.

We are going to take the tree and decs down on Sunday and then it will be on with the new year for us.

Thanks for the sw coupon tip, I got Woman at the supermarket yesterday and might join up next week.

Hiya Katmum I've used my "sleepless" time catching up on here too :) It helps to share with the lovelies on here if you've something on your mind/ troubling you. There is always somebody around to listen :) xxx

Festive Princess JJ where are you? I've missed you :( Hope that shunt is shunting and you aren't in too much pain. xxx
his missus I've been absent but thinking about you all and saying a little prayer! hoping your Dear Dad is as comfortable as possible :) xxx

managed to get a ted baker gift set that dd was hinting about from boots 1/2 price will keep and eye open for the 75% sale off but not much stock left locally so not holding out much hope of any real bargains.
debating about wether or not to just grab some of the small sanctury sets while they have them at 1/2 price or wait on the off chance there will be any left?

I've been holding off on the small Sanctuary and Champneys sets in the hope they will reduced a little more too. The Champneys don't appear to have been as popular in our local store so going to keep my fingers crossed although may cave and pick up a few next week!

Our recycling won't take shredded paper. Apparently it clogs up their machines.
But then that just about sums our council up. Our paper recycling bins came with no lids. You can just imagine the streets on recycling day when it's windy.

We can put paper (includes shredded stuff as far as I'm aware) along with plastic bottles & tins in our recycling bin.

We also have a kerbside glass/textile collection & a weekly food collection. We have another bin for garden waste (this collection is currently suspended for the winter & collection is only on demand) as well as our bin for general waste to go to landfill.

I just wonder what the council will do next - they are already talking about changing the landfill collection to every 3 weeks (currently fortnightly).
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

3 weeks that would be awful, ours is fortnightly and that's bad enough.

I give up with pictures can't even get photo bucket to work :-(

Hello and welcome to the thread :D

On the subject of bin collection, it was just on the news that the government are telling councils they need to collect bins every week not fortnightly.
Ours rubbish and food waste are taken weekly. Then paper one week, plastic and tin the next. Anything else has to be taken to the tip.

Also just saw the BBC are making a one off ' Only Fools and Horses ' this year.:D

Robbie's new Pillow Pets are here. I expect I am more excited than he will be. Am going to put one away for next year as I gave him a Scooby Doo one at Christmas.

They were in the sale at Debenhams. Should have been £25 each but got them for £6.75 each. Only downside was the postage was £5.

hi everyone, hope you are happy. Hope all the ill ones are recovering that sick is sickened off, shunts are shunting and drains draining, wish I could wave a magic wand and make it so.
Well, the Invis house is empty, family left at 1 am for the 3 hour drive to the airport, and even DGS1 has deserted to his dads.
It has been a lovely break for me, yes, Nanamia, I enjoyed every second of it. Last night was dreadful tho, all the tears and pleas to stay with grandma, and the grandma tears too, ooo sniff, sniff, stiff upper lip time.
The decorations are down and put away, (by DS1, so I will have to get them back out and sort them properly) no, I don't have an issue with control, of course not!
I have bought nothing in the sales, oh, except for another
greenhouse, that is, I must be mad, I cant control the glass in this one, hmmm.
Fave cous is coming round later for some fast phobia cure, and some deep relaxation therapy, as she has an MRI scan tomorrow and is very claustrophobic.
Yes I also make small random things from the left over pastry scraps, lou, it seems a crime to just throw them away. My mum used to make a sponge cake and cut the peak off to be able to ice it. Then she would make a trifle with the off-cut, but nobody liked trifle made with cake, (only fat free swiss roll type,) so she would throw the lot out, but couldn't make herself just throw away the cake off cut!!!
Post has just arrived, more bills, no doubt. Back soon xx
