I've just scooped up some cheap books for the grandbeasts and my 3 littlies from the works.. £100+ worth for £27 Code (today30) gives 30% off today only .. 22nd Sept.. so I grabbed a few.

Lots of bills just sneaked out of the bank so I am really poor this week but these were too much of a bargain to miss.. lets just hope I don't need food other than bread and milk this week!!! Might take a bit of meal planning but I'm certain I can stretch stuff..

I am aiming to empty the shed freezer so it can be stocked up again with Christmas yummies and the fridge freezer can be replaced ASAP.. the freezer works but the fridge doesn't and I NEED the fridge..

More ebeasting needs to be done I think!

I find myself getting increasingly restless at this time of year, as I want the Christmas stock to be in quicker than the shops stock it or put it on-line.

I'm just the same! Shopping with my Mum on Wednesday as I have the day booked off work, and I know the shops won't be fully Christmassed up yet :( but fingers crossed will be reasonably quiet :D

    Hello lovelies

Sorry I have been missing! My friend invited me to take her friends place in a holiday (9 hours before we had to leave for the airport) so I had a gorgeous 4.5 day break in the hotel Benidorm is filmed at :) First proper holiday it was lovely!

Since being back I have been trying to get more organised , on the ball shall we say lol.

    Has anyone heard from Nanmia?

    Hope you all are well!

My big Tesco had some Xmas smelly gift sets out , no special prices I don't think - Primark had Xmas leggings and tops and a new range of winter nightwear - plus jewerlly advent calenders.

xx I have 3 kids birthdays between now and Xmas and 2 adults - 2 of the kids have been brought for.. xx

Anyway enough rambling , will read back now

Glad you had a nice break away!! Bet it was good and oh so strange seeing everything in real life instead of just on the TV!
No word from Nanmia, hoping she is ok!!

Well It has taken me plenty to catch up, I think I lost a multiquote too somewhere... for anyone wanting Turkey cooking advice I used http://www.britishturkey.co.uk/ last year, it was the first year me and OH hosted Christmas for 11 of us. I found it quite easy, just prepared early and my Dad who is not a Turkey fan said it was the first time he enjoyed Turkey in over 40 years and it wasn't dry :T

I read some last night, so I have forgotten who it was now, but there was a picture with two of the wrapped up hampers done?? They looked beautiful :rudolf:
I have brought my Christmas card list to work, and if I get a quiet moment later I am going to run through and edit/add to it :o
Hopefully if Wednesday goes to plan I will be reporting back that I have either finished or basically finished all the Christmas present buying, fingers crossed please :D:xmassmile
Currently I am a little stuck on what else to get OH, as I picked up a jumper which should of been £95  for £26 on Superdry's eb*y store and have a few sweet bits to add in. He usually buys what he needs for himself through the year and I'm currently racking my brains for ideas...especially after I gave some good one's to everyone else :o
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

  • Hi all been away for so long, life has been up and down this year, but started thinking about you lovelies. Watching This Morning with Martin explaining budgeting at Xmas, he needs to advise to start inJan! Why does he talk so fast? He reminds me of a market trader trying to flog cheap bags of meat! Got some bits for the kids put away in the argos sale and some frozen stuff (disney film not food) and have started browsing for ideas nowhere near as organised this year, after the roof blew off in storms at the beg of the year have not been on the ball, will keep on top of the thread from now on, haven't caught up but hope everyone is well x
  • Evening everyone, here are the pics i promised:

PIGPEN oh i bet your DD was so upset at losing all of them, i just have one of the elastic band ones with a D charm on it and i have lost it twice lately luckily i have found it but i noticed there seems to be a big gap on the catch so i will have to sort that before i wear it again, they are so blooming expensive i wouldnt be able to replace it now, good luck in finding the charms at a good price :rotfl:

PRINCESSKITTY oh you sound so much brighter :) glad you are keeping well and your journey goes smoothly to your mum and dads, i have to be organised otherwise it really stresses me out that i wont have enough money :o

LEXILEX hi and welcome to our lovely thread, my house used to be a complete grotto when the kids were younger and it made me laugh when my DD2 (who has just moved into her first house) said 'mum i want my house to be full of xmas just like yours used to be' so i must have got something right haha :) 94 sleeps already!!! i knew it would just disappear once it hit 100

MSGIGGLEWICK oh how annoying after all that time and effort you put into it

I do have the Carole Matthews ones already, but I would use them as gifts for people. I know several friends who would enjoy them. I'm itching to start reading Christmas books and watching Christmas films. Can I manage to hold out until October???

Amey, this is very intriguing, I can't wait for the reveal now and I'm not even a Lush fan lol.

    Freespirit, it's a :) from me too.

Achica have a Pandora sale on at the moment if anyone has Pandora fans to buy for (thanks to OP on the Grabbit Thread). I'm thinking of getting the Father Christmas for my own Christmas bracelet but waiting to hear from DD because she's going to break up one of her bracelets to raise money for buying their house so if she's got it I'll buy it from her instead.

    Hi Peppa
What is Achica? I can't see the website without signing up so just wondered if it was worth it? :)
    Thanks
  • Thanks to everyone for the Christmas dinner help - preparation and planning seem to be the key, which is great as I love making lists and colour coded spreadsheets :rotfl: I know I'm sad but it's fun!:)

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi all,

Just a quickie from me as I'm at work.

Bought two jumpers from Primarni today. A red one with a xmas pudding that lights up and a blue one with a snowman who has a knitted sticking out nose. Hiding them under my desk as Boss Lady doesn't do Christmas before Dec 1st but I wasn't risking them selling out!

Hubby's away this weekend so I'm starting on making my Xmas cards and shall be filling the kitchen with xmas music :D
