freespirit66 - I also like hearing your daily challenges, especially that you have succeeded :)

PloddingAlong:P - hope the dentists goes well, I was another dentist avoider...I only started going regularly rather than when I just had problems last year. But a good dentist and all is fine, :) I had a bad dentist when I was at uni, I didn't know she was bad at the time because I hadn't been in forever, but basically if it hurts make them stop they are not a good dentist! I have a good dentist again now though :D and it's an awesome dentists there are tv's on the ceiling crazy... lol.

I think it was on this thread it was mentioned the - No buying unnecessary toiletries - thread... I decided to join in... so I'm getting everything out this morning to have a look what I have eek!

Something posted earlier on this thread gave me an idea. My best friend gets very down in January. I think it's partly SAD and the post Christmas blues and I hate that she feels so down-especially as I live too far away to give her a cuddle.
So I thought I'd send her a message telling her to email me or text me every day, telling me the best thing that happened to her that day. I hope this will help her focus on the good things and cheer her up.

Right, I'd better get ready for my water aerobics class. Determined to have a swim afterwards too. Must get back into the routine and start losing the pounds that I'm certain got piled on over Christmas. Have a great day everyone!

Christmas goes way too quick. When I was growing up, it always seemed to take ages for it to arrive, as you were so excited about it and now it's just over in a flash and you're back at work.

lol I was always told that was a sign of getting older ;)
  • Well that's Christmas 2013 all packed away.

Freespirit - well done with the challenges. :T Please carry on posting each challenge as it may well give some of us (me in particular :o) the kick up the bum that is needed to get some things sorted. Keep up the good work.

PloddingAlong - hope trip to the dentist goes well. You've just reminded me I have a check up later this month

nitnurse-not - we tried Prosecco for the first time over the hols and must admit I much preferred it to the champers we had yesterday. The Prosecco we had was a Sainbugs Taste the Diff one - just realised we have another 3 bottles of it in the garage. ;)

 Welcome to all the delurkers. If there are any other lurkers who are regular readers of the thread, why not be brave and join in - they are all a lovely bunch of people who will make you feel really welcome. I don't think many of them bite :rotfl:

Well I think I might brave the shops this afternoon. Will let you know if I find any bargains.

Free Spirit. Please, please, please post your daily challenges. As I've said I too have challenged myself and turned my life around over the last 2 years. Last year I flew to Spain. Yes! My arms were tired!:rotfl::rotfl:
I held an owl:eek:(I'm terrified of birds and feathers)
I went out ALONE:eek: to meet friends who I hadn't seen since middle school (30 odd years)
I would love to see if some of yours will spur me on to other things:T

Aww thankyou NITNURSE wow you really are an inspiration, well done you for actually doing those things even when you are terrified, that is what DS is trying to get me to do have confidence in myself and face things head on and not just say no i cant do it, you are right you really do miss out on life that way

freespirit thank lovely won't know much till I speak to surgeon hopefully it's just a small block I'm the tube which will unclog itself!

Oh JUNIORJ you are an inspiration too, when i have a headache/migraine i always think of you and what pain you are in, i hope it unclogs itself quickly x
I would have waited a bit longer but I was babysitting my goddaughter over New Years and I'm meant to be having 2 teeth out tomorrow so will be groggy for a few days so thought it best to get it done, seeing as the house was completely covered! I took them down on the 31st and said to my OH that it's less than 11 months until they go back up! The lights take a while so have to start early Nov for switch on on the 1st Dec :j I do like to do 1st Dec-31st Dec though, a month of festivities & then a big tidy up for the new year.

I have worked myself up into a tizz over having these teeth out, I have put going off to the dentist since I was 10!!! I got referred to the hospital as I was in such a state but now I have a panic on that tomorrow is just a consultation and not the actual extractions, I really hope not, it's taken me so long to get to this point &. I thought if I could start 2014 off with something done like that then it's got to be a good year?!
Anyways, sorry for going on, just wanted to moan, no one at home is interested as usual :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good day :)

PLODDINGALONG moan away, we all feel we can on here, i really feel for you i would work myself up into a state as well, i hope it all goes well for you today, good luck x

Free spirit - well done you! Pls post your challenges, it's great to read them (and that you're reaching them) and don't think you're boring us!!!

Aaah thankyou craftymummy, my niece is 9 and she has started laying in bed, sleeping late it makes me giggle, they grow up so quickly
Morning everyone. I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year.
My tree and cards will be coming down today. I used to keep them up until 6th Jan, but I just don't see the point now. Once new year is over with, I just want it all packed away.

Oh ABBAFAN tell me about it, we spend so long preparing for it and before you know its all over and we are in the new year, when i was younger i think everywhere just shut down for two weeks so it seemed to last longer than it did, now people are straight back to work

Tree and decorations all down and packed away! The house looks a bit bare now.

Just remembered that I bought single bottles (275ml) of WKD (iron brew flavour) for 59 pence a bottle from B&M for a Christmas present last year.

Might be useful info for someone as the supermarkets are currently selling the multipack containing 4 bottles for £4.50 or £5 according to MySupermarket.
