  • Hi all
I have just enjoyed a bottle of prosecco that was given to me months ago as a gift when someone came to dinner and very nice it was too.

I'm loving reading all your posts but also sending love and hugs to those that need them.

Free Spirit. Please, please, please post your daily challenges. As I've said I too have challenged myself and turned my life around over the last 2 years. Last year I flew to Spain. Yes! My arms were tired!:rotfl::rotfl:
I held an owl:eek:(I'm terrified of birds and feathers)
I went out ALONE:eek: to meet friends who I hadn't seen since middle school (30 odd years)
I would love to see if some of yours will spur me on to other things:T

    7roland8.

How about buying loads of cheap necklaces and breaking them up. You could then fill the cones with coloured beads. Or ask around and see if friends have any that they no longer use.

Off to bed now as I'm back at the coal face tomorrow.
Hope you all have a restful sleep
    xxx

I am actually going through a Christmas depression, I really can't get over the fact it's all over. Tree and decs are all gone, all outside lights are down :( I'm so gutted.

Welcome to Christmasland :). Me too, took my decorations down today too (well yesterday now). I'd have done it before New Year but OH wanted them left up for that, it feels wrong to me and I prefer them down for NYE/NYD. I'm properly upset that it's all over! We need something else to look forward to, to keep us going until it's closer to next Christmas.

I would have waited a bit longer but I was babysitting my goddaughter over New Years and I'm meant to be having 2 teeth out tomorrow so will be groggy for a few days so thought it best to get it done, seeing as the house was completely covered! I took them down on the 31st and said to my OH that it's less than 11 months until they go back up! The lights take a while so have to start early Nov for switch on on the 1st Dec :j I do like to do 1st Dec-31st Dec though, a month of festivities & then a big tidy up for the new year.

I have worked myself up into a tizz over having these teeth out, I have put going off to the dentist since I was 10!!! I got referred to the hospital as I was in such a state but now I have a panic on that tomorrow is just a consultation and not the actual extractions, I really hope not, it's taken me so long to get to this point &. I thought if I could start 2014 off with something done like that then it's got to be a good year?!

Anyways, sorry for going on, just wanted to moan, no one at home is interested as usual :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day :)

Hi PloddingAlong - just wanted to say that I hope your dentist trip wil go well today. I've braved the dentist and hygienists in December after quite a few years of not seeing either of them and they were so lovely, really made me at ease. Just explain to them how you feel and I'm sure you'll be fine. :grouphug:

I'm still away till the weekend so slightly jealous reading about all your bargains in the shops. Bet by the time I get back there won't be anything in the shops, oh well....

Free spirit - well done you! Pls post your challenges, it's great to read them (and that you're reaching them) and don't think you're boring us!!!

Better get up and get some things done whilst DD is still asleep. She didn't get up till 11.30am yday :eek: and she's only 9 yrs old. Getting back to normality will be very very hard next week...

Hugs to everyone, hope you all have a fab day.

Ploddingalong I know exactly how you feel.
Last Christmas I was in agony with my teeth. My boss had to take me to the dentist in tears on the last day of term. I was so scared. I made up my mind that tooth pain is the worst and told the dentist that I didn't want to know what she was going to do, just get on & don't talk to me.
I put my MP3 player on very loud, closed my eyes and concentrated on the lyrics of the songs. I found Queen very good for this.
I am glad I had it done now but I still don't like going.
You just need to find a coping strategy that works for you. I know you will.
Good luck, it will not be as bad as you think, just tell them know first that you don't like dentists.
My Son is the same, he went on Monday because of toothache. When he got back, this is what he said to the dentist.

There's no point giving me a lecture about cleaning my teeth, as it's obvious that I don't do it properly. Even if I did, you would be out of work.

It made me laugh and apparently shut the dentist up too.
Oh to be 17 again and mouthy. Don't know where he gets it from :rotfl:
    Must be his father.
Let us know how you got on Ploddingalong.

Morning everyone. I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year.

My tree and cards will be coming down today. I used to keep them up until 6th Jan, but I just don't see the point now. Once new year is over with, I just want it all packed away.

Christmas goes way too quick. When I was growing up, it always seemed to take ages for it to arrive, as you were so excited about it and now it's just over in a flash and you're back at work.

Well that's my amazon wish list loaded with lego and meccano packs. Ill be looking daily to see if there's ever any money off.

Thanks for the feedback on wrapping freespirit much appreciated and I'm going to wrap as I go on the back of it. I only have 3 rolls of paper left so have slipped up there! Any one know if there's any wrapping paper left to buy online cheaply anywhere?
