    afternoon all

thank you to everyone who liked DD3s cakes and made such lovley comments about them she was really knocked out by how many visitors she'd had. i told her about my friends on here helping her with the sibling bet and she asked me to thank you all. its her birthday today ive already told her not to expect a cake off me as mine wont look anything like hers.

wasnt in yesterday as i went with mil to the hospital, long day appt was at 9.30 and we didnt get home till late afternoon. another appt tomorrow, another next week and the operation the week after. i will be giving mil all the support/help she needs so might be missing on and off while shes having these visits the op and the convalescing but ill be thinking of you. diagnosis came back, it was as the specialist suspected so glad he made a start and got everything lined up for tests and the op.

campsite sounds lovely omo, and im glad mia was ok with her drive round.

hope all are well, hugs good wishes and positive vibes to all who need them

I *LOVE* proper hampers like that! I've always wanted one, but they're not that practical if you need to carry it far (I don't have a car!). We've got a wheelie picnic set, which is better for us but nowhere near as pretty.

Not much Christmas wise been done yesterday, although I saw a few idea's for my brothers birthday. You can get chocolates like casino chips and cards - thought these would be quite novel with like a 'casino royale' dvd or something. I brought him a tshirt for christmas and he said he liked it (showed him before) but he has not worn it yet so trying to get him thing's that will be more used (brought a addidas shower gel as he is a personal trainer :rotfl: )
Trying to rack my brains for last couple of bits for OH's birthday. I am keeping my eyes peeled for Dispicalble me 2 as we haven't seen it and we loved the first one!

Despicable Me 2 is brilliant! Should be cheap enough on DVD now as it came out before Christmas. If you have a B&M nearby, they had some Despicable Me merchandise-games, toys etc.

    Good afternoon.

I feel like I have really achieved something today. I have taken Mia out in the car twice on my own. My step sister gave me a boot guard as it didn't fit her car. This morning I fitted and bit the bullet. She is still very jumpy but at least she is not a danger to herself or anyone else in the car.
We didn't actually go anywhere, just for a drive, to show her that when she gets in the car we will always come home. One evening this week I may take her down to the beach in it.

I have also found a lovely campsite in Lincolnshire. Tattershall Lakes. It has everything we all need. Fishing Lakes for Ds a swimming pool and Spa for dd and kids activities for Fingers. They also have an open cinema every Saturday night showing a kids film.
And before anyone comments that I am not on the list above, I take what I need with me. ( a folding chair, a book and a bottle of wine. :rotfl: )

Hope everyone else is also having a good day. :D

    Just the one? ;)

Well done on taking Mia out on your own. :T

DD had her endoscopy today and we hopefully are on the road to recovery. They let me stay with her and I could see the inflamed lesions and the stomach acid bubbling away.
The consultant said clearly the meds aren't working and changed them there and then but also said they would test her for a bacteria that if present tricks the body into producing too much acid. If the bacteria is in her a course of strong antibiotics will get rid of it for good.

    just a quick one
I know there are at least a couple of amazing cake makers on here so thought I'd mention the comp I saw in the asda mag is case anyones missed it. basically design a halloween themed cake (you dont actually have to make it unless you want to) winner gets a hotel stay and a photoshoot with the food team while making the cake

sorry haven't got a lot of time so just gonna say hugs/congrats/ welcome back as relevant

A holiday requires several books and definitely more than one bottle of wine!
