pinknfluffy28 wrote: »Hello everyone,
Im not sure if any of you remember me, its been almost a year I think since I was last on here. It took me a while to find this new 2014 thread, after many wrong attempts at my forgotten password!
It has been a very rough time in the fluffy household. I have been very ill, and in and out of hospital (but am on the mend), we also had an unexpected house move, as dh was made redundant and had to change jobs/area.
But things are finally looking up, and I lay in bed last night thinking about how I need to ensure this christmas is the best ever, to make up for the heartache and upset of 2013 feeble attempt at a celebration. And that got me thinking to how much I used to love the old Holly & Ivy thread, and how I would look forward to logging on at the end of the day for a good old catch up ... and so here I am again.
I havent even attempted to start catching up on the 166 pages, but I promise to make it my mission over the next week!
And finally, I hope everyone is well x
Oh PINKNFLUFFY i am so sorry to hear of your awful year, i hope everything is on the up now, lovely to see you back on hereonwards and upwards

The bed
The light is on the top at the front. I can tell you, getting that up 2 flights of stairs on my own was no joke.
I just need to get him a sheet. He only uses a fleece on him at my house as it is so warm in my bedroom. And I do have the cot bed duvet that my 2 used for the winter.0 -

OMO what a fabulous bed! I would have loved one of those as a kid!
Welcome back PinknFluffy sorry to hear you have had a rubbish time, glad you are back again!
Sunday dinner was fabulous, even had a cheeseboard and coffee after so have been thoroughly spoilt today! Back on the diet tomorrow though!0 -

I just hope he sleeps in it and doesn't think it's a big toy :rotfl:
It was £60 on FB. I nearly didn't get it. The lady wanted £70 and I only really had £50, but his Mum saw the post and when the lady said she would take £60 his Mum texted me and said they would put the £10 towards it.0 -
Hello pinknfluffy! :hello: Of course we remember you, it's good to see you back. Sorry to hear you've had a rubbish year, you are definitely in the right place to get your Christmas back on track! I didn't really have a Christmas last year either so was really pleased to get back into this thread and I've now made a start on my Christmas shopping!
whitesatin it's not often unwanted Christmas presents are that good!
OMO that bed is amazing! I'm sure he'll love it, but he'll probably want to have a little play in it first.
It feels a bit strange to not be going to work today, even more so than last week. I think last week just felt a bit like a week off, but it's becoming more reality now that i'm definitely not going back to work! I'm not complaining by any means, please don't think I am, it's just quite an adjustment in lifestyle and getting used to not having a set routine. I also thought that i'd have plenty of time to keep on top of everything but I still can't seem to manage it - there's always something else to do! It seems we are always destined to chase our tail - either that or I am rubbish at keeping house! :rotfl:0 -
Morning!
The sun is finally out here today, hope it stops. We went to see the allotment yesterday and most things are starting to pick up, going to go and water later
pinknfluffy - :hello: sorry to hear you have not had a great year, hope everything is improving
omo - that bed is fab!!! He will love it!
whitesatin - That is great, unwanted gifts from others are great! My MIL gave me some bits earlier in the year, you just can't go wrong
princesskitty - I am sure after a couple of weeks you will get in to the swing of not going back to work, change always takes some getting used to! You will get a new way of doing everything and you will catch up on yourself and have a nice little routine going before you know it
feisty - sorry to hear you were not allowed to fix it in the endbut glad you now have your new one sorted and it didn't cost too much
cazd - glad you enjoyed tea at your grandma's, I could just eat some lemon merigune!!
OH was happy with the suit fitting, said they were nice suits, I can't wait to see him in it when we get to our friends wedding(it's not until August!) I did make an apple pie but we were so full after a beef dinner that it has gone in to the fridge for after tea tonight. I made the flowers for my mum's birthday cake and I am happy with those, need to do the cake on Thursday ready to take Friday.
Back to work now, whilst thinking of Christmas ideasChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Ruth_honey wow what a fab present from your DH! Hope you're enjoying it. Yes i'm really enjoying Calling Mrs Christmas, it sounds like a good business idea in theory but I would find it way too stressful!
As I said I normally save Christmas books to read from October onwards, so it's very strange to be reading about ice and snow when i'm sat in 22 degree heat!
Deleted the quote thingies, so hopefully the different colour will help.
I don't think I'd enjoy organising Christmas for a living. Especially other peoples as they'll have a totally different idea to what makes Christmas magical. But the book is great. I do enjoy her stories.
Really need to sort presents out and see what I've already bought for people. It's all over the house at the moment and I've got no idea how well I'm doing-or not! I did order the wool for hubby's jumper on Friday. I'm going to try and crochet it! It's hopefully going to be a birthday present (November) but if I'm struggling, then it'll be Christmas present. Wish me luck! I've never attempted anything this complex before.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
