Hello- I'm back- been MIA for a while but have( sort of kept) an eye on what you have been up to! Busy ladies!
Freespirit- massive congrats on being a nan, and glad you are keeping up with your challenges.
Feisty-sorry to hear things aren't so good again, I admire your positivity. You and Junior are such wonderful positive selfless people it puts me to shame.
OMO- goodness- how can you have anything left in your home to sell? Those lead hooks are a brilliant idea- talented lady!
Mrs Moneypenny- your DD's cakes are lovely- I can see why you are so proud of her.
Cant remember everything so just concentrated on last page or so. Its hard to remember that life goes on in the outside world at such a fast pace- you lot are no exception!
I hope Nanamia is on the road to recovery soon, a visit from the BD can be a lonely time.
    Take care

freespirit great start to the day as for the baby shopping it does get addictive and the best part of being a nan is you can buy all the fun stuff rather than mostly just the essentials

mrsm those cakes are amazing she should be very proud

chrissyg glad to hear they are seeing dd sooner shes really shouldn't have had to wait so long as bad as she is hope you get some answers

jj Enjoy your trip to scotland

gettingtherequickly I love those costco bears really hoping they bring back the polar bear they had at xmas not that I have anywhere to put it but I will find somewhere if they do ;)

probably wont be on much in the next wk or so as my laptop died  only about 9mths old so under warranty but gotta send it off so no real internet access at home till I get it back :(

asda home shopping is pretty poor gave up with them have you tried ocado? great service and if you have pets they have a new pet store & you can get 10-20% off the 1st order depending on which code you can find picked up my usual flea/worming treatments cheaper than the vets

enjoy the weekend tc all and catch up soon
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk
  • Hi all

Pass on my best to Nanamia please, hope she knows we're all thinking about her and miss her.

Freespirit, I have to say I've tried the 3 big supermarkets for online shopping and none of them compare to Tesco, they've practically converted me to online shopping!

Mrsmoneypenny I too have liked, her cakes are just beautiful. She's very close to 40 likes now!

I'm sure there was more to comment on but as usual memory like a sieve.

    Keep on truckin' :D

mrs-moneypenny your daughter's cakes are amazing! She is very talented. I have liked her page too, I was no 38 so she's not far off!

CHRISSYG glad to hear you have managed to get an earlier appointment for your daughter, that must be a relief. I hope they can find out what's going on and help her.

I did a bit more Christmas shopping yesterday morning in the Body Shop sale, managed to get some matching shower gels and body butters for some friends. Really pleased as full size shower gel with matching full size body butter only came to £4.80!

Such kind words! Bad luck seems to be a regular occurrence for DH and I, so you either have to roll with it or go insane ;)

I'm back from hols :) It was bliss! You will all be pleased to know that I didn't peek at the online businesses once whilst we were away, and although I had to take/make a few main business calls, I made sure it didn't last too long. It was heaven, we stayed in our bargain cottage for 90% of the time and just sunbathed in the garden whilst I read.

We've come home and sadly our smeg dishwasher has decided to break down. I'm quite annoyed as it was a wedding present from the in-laws and I know that they paid a premium for smeg specifically because they thought it meant it would be long lasting. We think it's the motor which is £200+ for the part and then about £45 an hour for a repairman :( It is cheaper to just buy a new none smeg one. I know it may not seem like a big deal, but the stress of trying to sort it today (stripped the machine down so DH and I could try and diagnose it) has blown away all our serenity and calm from the holiday. We've been home just over a day and feel rubbish already.

On the plus side our private fertility consultation went well (£260 for a 15 minute chat!) he is going to see us for IVF under NHS :)

I do hope Nana hurries back, she is missed terribly! xxx

Evening everyone, oh its swings and roundabouts here, after my good start to the day, DD1 drove me to another town to pick up an order from M&S and argos, got there and picked up the argos one, no problems, then got an email from M&S saying my order hadnt turned up and will be in to pick up from Tuesday, i was flipping fuming  so it means another round trip of 36 miles, so i am not impressed with M&S now :( whereas Argos managed to get one of the two items that was in another store sent to the store i was due to pick them up from all for this morning!! Is everyone having this atrocious weather today? Talk about flooding everywhere, i got out of the car at one point not looking and went straight into a foot of water with both feet :D so DD1 had to keep jumping out to get stuff as my feet were soaked through :rotfl:

DROPSOFJUPITER thanks for your opinion on the different supermarkets, i used to have it delivered regularly from tescos until a shop was delivered where all the milk had leaked over everything inc a box of (ladies accessories) which were ruined, and i needed desperately :o and it was just embarrassing giving them to the driver and it was all just a mess that i refused to do it again until DD1 asked me to, so nice to know what other people think

MANDCO yes its too addictive at the moment, i have nearly finished christmas for the grandbean :D but all reduced and in sales, so have saved a lot of money, and yes most of it is fun stuff :D:D Hope you get the laptop fixed, how annoying after only 9 months

PRINCESSKITTY that is a fab saving for the bs shower gels and body butters, DD1 has asked for no more body butters in her stocking this year because she has such a stock of them, but when they are on offer they are a good deal, her favourite is the satsuma, absolutely gorgeous

FEISTY glad you and DH have had some much needed rest and recharged your batteries. I have a smeg dishwasher too and have never been impressed by it, we had to have a replacement within about 4 months, and since then 3 times one of the buttons disappears so we have to take the whole door apart to fix it back again :( Fab news about the consultant agreeing to go through NHS for IVF so happy for you both :)
