I bought 3 of those bear pillows from John Lewis today at £3.50 each, for my grandchildren who will be travelling soon. I pick them up from Waitrose, probably on Wednesday. I can't keep them till Christmas when they could make good use of them now.

Hello pinknfluffy! :hello: Of course we remember you, it's good to see you back. Sorry to hear you've had a rubbish year, you are definitely in the right place to get your Christmas back on track! I didn't really have a Christmas last year either so was really pleased to get back into this thread and I've now made a start on my Christmas shopping!

whitesatin it's not often unwanted Christmas presents are that good!

OMO that bed is amazing! I'm sure he'll love it, but he'll probably want to have a little play in it first. ;)

It feels a bit strange to not be going to work today, even more so than last week. I think last week just felt a bit like a week off, but it's becoming more reality now that i'm definitely not going back to work! I'm not complaining by any means, please don't think I am, it's just quite an adjustment in lifestyle and getting used to not having a set routine. I also thought that i'd have plenty of time to keep on top of everything but I still can't seem to manage it - there's always something else to do! It seems we are always destined to chase our tail - either that or I am rubbish at keeping house! :rotfl:

I often wonder how I used to cope working 40 hours a week and being out of the house for 10 hours a day! I still can't keep on top of things now as there always seems to be something else that needs doing :rotfl:

  • So I managed to find a bit of motivation today, after my renewed Christmas spirit & finding this thread!
Got my mum a new regatta jacket in Argos sale for £13.33! Got myself one too! Also had a browse round home bargs and picked up a color your own satchel bag for £5 and matching pencil case for £2 Togo in dd2 coloring hamper for her bday.

Also picked up 3 x moshi monster 5 packs for £2 each as stocking fillers, and some little star wars battle figure packs for 99p each to go with the 2 star wars Lego sets I got reduced from amaz@n, so that's my nephews sorted!

Omo - that bed is too cute! Do you think a full grown 6ft man could squeeze into it? Dh always wanted a car bed as a child!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

:rotfl: On Sunday I built the bed in the garden so I knew what was doing when I got it upstairs. Ds then went out without his key. When he got home I was taking dd to work. When I got home he was sitting in the bed in the garden. So I can't see why not :rotfl:

    Morning all,

Nothing Christmassy to report but last night DH had his music on random (boy, was it random!) and it played 2 Christmas songs in a row - 2000 miles by the pretenders then Aretha's Joy to the World. Even he had a bit of a boogie to the latter.

Not much Christmas wise been done yesterday, although I saw a few idea's for my brothers birthday. You can get chocolates like casino chips and cards - thought these would be quite novel with like a 'casino royale' dvd or something. I brought him a tshirt for christmas and he said he liked it (showed him before) but he has not worn it yet so trying to get him thing's that will be more used (brought a addidas shower gel as he is a personal trainer :rotfl: )
Trying to rack my brains for last couple of bits for OH's birthday. I am keeping my eyes peeled for Dispicalble me 2 as we haven't seen it and we loved the first one!
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Not Christmassy but just had to share. Oh my, I've just been incredibly indulgent and bought myself one of these in the sale at BHS...

Well after they were talking about it being nearer to Christmas 2014 than Christmas 2013 on the radio this morning I took it as a sign :)

Although I have already started my shopping I just checked the QVC TV guide (since I know people like to see the Christmas in July) and the listings are there for 24th and 25th :j

Christmas in July 24th and Christmas in July 25th

    Good afternoon.

I feel like I have really achieved something today. I have taken Mia out in the car twice on my own. My step sister gave me a boot guard as it didn't fit her car. This morning I fitted and bit the bullet. She is still very jumpy but at least she is not a danger to herself or anyone else in the car.
We didn't actually go anywhere, just for a drive, to show her that when she gets in the car we will always come home. One evening this week I may take her down to the beach in it.

I have also found a lovely campsite in Lincolnshire. Tattershall Lakes. It has everything we all need. Fishing Lakes for Ds a swimming pool and Spa for dd and kids activities for Fingers. They also have an open cinema every Saturday night showing a kids film.
And before anyone comments that I am not on the list above, I take what I need with me. ( a folding chair, a book and a bottle of wine. :rotfl: )

Hope everyone else is also having a good day. :D
