    Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
    Morning!
Well the weather looked like it was going to be nice at about 9am, then within 1hour it was raining, typical!!
OH has gone for his suit fitting for our friends wedding of which he is one of the best men. We went out to the local carnival night last night then to a 21st and this morning I am feeling not so energetic as 7 white wine spritzers later although I wasn't drunk that was enough :rotfl: Glad that I am not feeling sick or have headache, just don't feel like doing much - or is that just Sunday fever ;)
I brought another Christmas stocking filler from Sainsburys on Friday, will be for my Grandma. It's 3 different moisturisers in a purple triangle was only a £2.50 I think it was reduced from £7?!
Will be starting bits for my Mum's birthday cake in a moment, once I have cleaned the pots away.

feisty - glad to read you had a relaxing time away and good news at the consultant, best wishes!!! Terribly sorry that the dishwasher has broken, I do hope that you return to a relaxed state again soon!
freespirit - eurghh that is so annoying! Sorry to hear you ended up with wet feet - although can I admit it made me smile cause I always end up doing this myself so glad I am not alone :o
mrsm - looks like your DS best get buying CD for your DD :D they are wonderful cakes, all so different and things I have not seen before!

Right, time for a cup of tea and to get on with some jobs.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

    Morning All

MrsMbtjose cakes are brilliant, what a talent your DD has, hope she keeps up the good work!

Feisty glad you had a fabulous break away, rubbish news about your smeg though, hope you get it sorted soon. Amazing news about IvF on NHS! I paid £190 for a fertility consultation initial chat and that only lasted 15 mins too, nothing much came of it so I decided to get myself seen via the NHS route which believe or not has been A lot better! Hope you hear something soon :-)

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend, I'm off to my grandparents for Sunday dinner today, can't wait, she makes the best roast dinner (and homemade lemon meringue pie yum yum!)

  • Hello everyone,
Im not sure if any of you remember me, its been almost a year I think since I was last on here. It took me a while to find this new 2014 thread, after many wrong attempts at my forgotten password!

It has been a very rough time in the fluffy household. I have been very ill, and in and out of hospital (but am on the mend), we also had an unexpected house move, as dh was made redundant and had to change jobs/area.

But things are finally looking up, and I lay in bed last night thinking about how I need to ensure this christmas is the best ever, to make up for the heartache and upset of 2013 feeble attempt at a celebration. And that got me thinking to how much I used to love the old Holly & Ivy thread, and how I would look forward to logging on at the end of the day for a good old catch up ... and so here I am again.

I havent even attempted to start catching up on the 166 pages, but I promise to make it my mission over the next week!

And finally, I hope everyone is well x

Hello pinknfluffy of course we remember you. :D

I'm really sorry you've had a lousy year, but really pleased to see on posting in here again. :D

I am in the midst of carnage here as I bought Fingers a bed shaped like a car/fire engine. It's plastic and massive ! I'm just redoing my bedroom to make room for it. ( it even lights up) :rotfl:

A bit of a result yesterday. I had the family round for a bbq and the rain held off enough for us to cook, eat and sit outside till evening without getting wet. Quite sunny in fact, at times.

But, the best bit was that my daughter brought round, for me, an "unwanted" gift she got at Christmas - still in it's box, unopened, a Dolce & Gabbana "The One" gift set of 50ml eau de parfume and 100ml body lotion. Must have cost around £50 at the time. I told her to bring round any other "unwanted" presents, any time at all.

Another good thing that happened yesterday, I was having a sort out of the guest room and found lots of The White Company Christmas decorations I bought in the sale and two large paint your own nativity sets from the John Lewis sale at the beginning of the year. Also two or three sets of paint your own Christmas decorations, again from JL. Looking forward to getting those out after the summer holiday to do with my grandchildren.
  • Hey Pink, welcome back to the mad house! Hopefully things are on the up for you now.

OMO, my friend loved Sabre's lead holder, thanks again.

Feisty, glad you had a good break and bump generation is going the right way, just hope it is soon.
A smile costs little but creates much :)
  • Thanks guys, its good to be back. Ive cheated & started my catch up from page 120! So many familiar faces (well, names) and a fair few new ones, who are probably actually veterans to this thread!

I am hoping to be caught up in aday or two!

We need to see pictures! That bed sounds amazing :D

Thank you everyone for your kind words :)

We've sold our broken dishwasher for the grand sum of £30. I'm fairly certain I diagnosed the fault (further scrabbling around on the floor) and figured out what part we needed and figured I could manage the fix solo. DH said no  He's convinced that the burnt out part was just a side effect from another cause. He said I'd spend £35 on the part, hours fixing it and then it not work anyway and end up stressed and frustrated, he knows me so well  We've been rather MSE and got a new one, but it was in the sale to £200 and we got some cashback, so including the dishwasher sale money, we've only had to pay £166ish for it, not great, but DH figures we'd end up spending more than that when I had to admit defeat and call a repairman in :rotfl:
