Hi everyone,
Managed to eat a big frog today, absolutely make myself mad i do, if i didnt leave things so long and just did them at the time they wouldnt be a frog at all, i dont know if it is my depression or i am just plain blooming lazy sometimes
MRSMONEYPENNY thankyou, i look forward to receiving them, but please dont go out of your way to post them, whenever it is convenient for you, sending lots of positive vibes your way, hope everything is ok
OMO hope you are feeling a bit better tonight, that is fab that originally the caravan was going to be for next summer :T
PIXTOTTS hope your day wasnt too busy, and happy 80th birthday to your grandad, hope you enjoyed your meal
CHIRPYCHICK welcome back fab photo of Franklin
PRINCESSKITTY oh i am so glad you have noticed a positive difference in the last two weeks, that is good news. Lol about the freezer party :rotfl:Actually it is surprising how much has got done and its not even a week, her DP mum and dad have nearly stripped all the wallpaper off in most of the rooms, they only live over the road to them so they have been popping in when DD2 and DP were camping and at work, which was really good of them it has saved loads of time and hard work
3FORHOLIDAYS oh what a lovely reason for a trophy, what a thoughtful school, so sorry you suffered at the hands of bullies, i am no help either i only have one really good friend in RL and she lives in Devon, i have never been good socially and quite like my own company, i have had friends over the years but quite honestly none of them are worth the hassle and it always seems to be give give give from me and i get nothing back, its also quite exhausting and of course you soon see who your real friends are when you separate, sorry that makes me seem sad but i really am not, i hope you find something that you enjoy and make some really good friends
NANAMIA lovely having a chat tonight it has made me feel cheerier, night night#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
I don't know if anyone will find this useful but last year I noticed a lot of stuff zooming down in price on amazon and then shooting back up again before I had chance to purchase.
Someone told me about this website
http://www.mystockstalker.com/
and i have added a few things to there so that when it becomes available at a price i'm prepared to pay I will be notified.
I also check the item via camelcamelcamel first to see what the lowest price the item has been so that i can judge whether it's a bargain or not.
Hope this helps.Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
Hi all,
Been MIA for a while, I feel like I'm retreating into my shell a bit. Realised earlier this week that I haven't really interacted with many friends on a personal level recently...comments and likes on Facebook and the sort but nothing personal
I must make more effort!
I shan't attempt to catch up on the thread but I hope life is treating you all well. I do have to ask though Freespirit, why are you eating frogs? I do hope this is metaphorically0 -
Thanks chirpychick! My pregnancy is pretty ok now thank you, I was very ill in the beginning, i'm still on anti-sickness medication but feeling better these days. Wow you had him 12 days before Christmas?! I knew it was close but couldn't remember it being that close! So now you must be planning for his birthday and for Christmas.
He looks like a real cutie. Thanks for the advice, normally i've bought lots of things by now but where I was so ill in the beginning of the year i've done virtually nothing! I have got my spreadsheet up and running now though so will start putting ideas on there, I finish work in a couple of weeks so will hopefully have some time to sort stuff out. Thanks also for the link to that website, will check it out when I have a minute, sounds very useful!
freespirit don't beat yourself up about not getting things done, you are not alone as I am very much the same! I really don't know why i'm like it, I very much live in the camp of 'i'll do it tomorrow.....' then days turn into weeks where i've been putting it off! More often than not it's really quick and easy to sort out whatever needs doing but I never change! My DH is the complete opposite, if something needs doing or sorting out he does it there and then, even making himself late for work at times! I wish I wasn't like it and I always resolve to change but when the next thing comes along I do it all over again!I am a complete contradiction though as I work as a PA, so in work I am very organised and on the ball but it doesn't extend to my personal life!! Very strange, but that just seems to be who I am.
Gald to her DD's house is already coming along, it's amazing how much you can get done with a bit of help. My DH's dad came to help us decorate the spare room and it made life so much easier.
I am the same as many of you when it comes to friends, I have 3 people I would call good friends. Sadly I don't live near any of them but I know they're there. There are a few other people that I see from time to time but only have a few really good friends. When I was younger I had a much wider social circle but as you get older you soon start to realise who your real friends are and you start to realise sometimes that you make all the effort and they don't. There are a couple of people i've lost touch with now that I think is a shame, but friendship really is a two way thing and very unsatisfying when you don't get anything back. The great thing about this thread is that you really do feel like you've got some lovely online friends.I'm slighlty worried about finishing work as we don't live near any family or friends so i'm worried about feeling a bit isolated. We are attending NCT classes though and everyone is really nice there, so i'm hoping we will continue to meet up afterwards.

:rotfl: I was going to ask the same question, presumed (or hoped!) it must have been a metaphor! :rotfl:0 -

I agree with this completely.0 -
Nanamia so sorry you're not feeling yourself at the moment. Sometimes there's nowhere like home! I do hope this passes for you, we can all have our moments of feeling down and sometimes can't even explain it. Sending you lots of positive and uplifting vibes. xx0

Is it the fly-lady thing? There is a saying that if the first thing you do each day was to eat a frog, then from there on your day can only get better. In the fly-lady thread, a frog is any job you keep putting off eg a difficult phone call- so if you eat a frog (and as outlined above - usually it's not a s bad as we thought it would be) the boost it gives you helps get you thorough the rest of the day. You feel like superwoman and can achieve anything.
Sorry to butt in - I am reading along but don't have much to contribute most of the time. I am now in my 12th week of resting and physiotherapy exercises to try to get this stupid leg working properly. I think I said weeks ago that you had kept me entertained (and saved my sanity) reading the thread when the pain was keeping me from sleeping. I am getting better but money is so tight and I am just so frustrated - I swear if I was allowed up a ladder the house is only a couple of weeks away from being ready to sell. But I can't and it's not and I have to keep on being patient, doing my exercises and trying not to worry.
Love reading about how you are all getting on. Am doing a taster digital photography course next week (Adult learners week). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
MrsM Don't worry about being nosey! The trophy was a memorial type one in memory of a pupil that suffered CF and had died.
Thanks to Springdreams for pointing out those threads. I will have a read & hopefully get some ideas.
Freespirit Whats this about you eating frogs? I hope they are good frogs rather than poisonous ones! :rotfl:
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to post details of the fact that they don't have many friends in real life. This makes me feel so much better. At least I have some online friends on this thread. You are all wonderful. :AA good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.
