Hi Everyone, had a blooming nightmare, went to visit DD2s new house last night and DS rings me saying we have a powercut and that he cant work (he was on call) i said dont worry they only ever last about half an hour, well 12 hours later we finally get electric back on, now i have a dilemma ladies, i dont know what to do with the stuff in my freezers i opened the door to check and they were still very cold but some stuff was defrosted, is it safe to let it refreeze or should i throw the lot away, i will be so upset because i have to shop to a strict budget and a) i cant bear to throw food unopened away and b) i cant afford to replace it and c) it throws this weeks meal plan up in the air??? What would you do? I really felt weird going to bed last night and not being on here checking in :rotfl:HELP im addicted!!

FEISTY hope you get some viewings soon my fingers are crossed

BEG hope your blood tests went well

PRINCESSKITTY omg i dont think i deserve to be put in the same sentence as NITNURSE i am not worthy :) and yes i am the same just sticking pins on my boards but now i make it my first stop if i am to make anything or get ideas. Aah isnt it typical that DH gets longer trips away now rather than the other way around. How are you feeling at the moment, are you still being really sick? When i saw DD2 last night i was so shocked how she had grown in 7 days it was unbelievable, but she is looking so much better now than the first trimester, but i am a bit worried how much work they have to do in this new house, it isnt brand new, was owned by an old person who has gone into a home and was empty for 18 months, so you can imagine??

MRSMONEYPENNY i love hearing all about your family orientated weekends, if no one else would like your book, i actually have that on my wish list, i would love it, that is very generous of you, but i dont want to step on anyone elses toes :) oh the music box sounds cute

NEWTHRIFT glad DH is back safe and sound, i hope you are having a better day today at work :o

PIXTOTTS oh how blooming cheeky, people just dont care who they trample on to get what they want do they!! you need to go into battle i think :rotfl:

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY yes that is a fab idea, i love working to a plan, i usually use organisedhome as well but it is quite americanised, OMO started a thing last year where we all put our goals of each week on here, which i found really helpful. Haha that was funny them discussing you on the radio you must have been in stitches :rotfl:

LINZ welcome to our thread you sound very organised :)

OMO ooh im going to read through those links, have put them in my favourites, thankyou. I used to love the opening of the Danish Biscuit Tin at my nans at christmas, but they seem so dry these days

MRSINVISIBLE hope you get the packing sorted today and dont feel so overwhelmed with it all now

    BETSIE hello :)

newthrift glad to hear you've got OH back at home with you. My DH has to go away for work and I don't really like it. It's not that i'm incapable of looking after myself it's just that I miss him. He got a promotion recently which is great but means he has to go even further away now! We've been together 5 1/2 years and in most of that time he's looked after projects in Europe which meant he only had to stay away 1 or 2 nights, now he looks after Asia and the Pacific which means all of his trips will be at least a week now! :( Now that we're having a baby it would have been much better the other way around! Oh well, mustn't complain, we're very fortunate really.

My dad had never been away for more than a couple of nights or a week at a time.
He's just finished 9 months in Germany doing 2 weeks there couple days home at a time, it's driving us mad having him back! lol x

I'd check through see whats still frozen, that thats started to defrost,
if it's raw, cook it then refreeze.
If it's cooked, fridge it and then eat it... If theres too much for you to eat throw a "the electric went we have to eat the freezer" party :D any excuse ;)

Avon turf wars is kicking off ;)

I've just been to buy my grandad a balloon and badge he's 80 today! and accidentally bought myself a candle a Wood Wick one, I fell in love with the jar I got Sand and Driftwood, half because I thought the khaki colour would look good in my room and it smells a bit like aftershave ... lol x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Aww that's a shame it has now gone the other way around. A lady a work her husband works away alot and although she can find it hard she says she has become used to it now. I hope the travelling will calm down though!

Freespirit - I would cook anything that you can and then re-freeze and anything you can't I would juggle the meal plan around and incorporate best you can or like pixitotts says have a bit of a party :D Work is a little better today thank you, I still have a sore head where I banged it yesterday though! Funnily enough OH banged his head on the way home getting on the bus and it has made a bump and a little cut - what a pair we are :rotfl::D

Hoping to spend 20minutes having a tidy in the spare room today when I get home from work as tea is sort of ready (steak & chips) and I cut the chips and left soaking before I came to work!

Just had a Christmas gift thought I hadn't considered for my mum and MIL, I don't know if either SIL's or BIL's GF would apperciate.
Handbag organiser and add a little hand santiser, hand moisturiser and odd little useful bits I know they will use!

MrsM Congratulations to your DS! :)

The trophy might be one that gets engraved with your DS name so you only get to keep it for a year then hand it back.

I got a trophy whilst at high school that was passed on each year - it's a bit strange to think that there is a trophy sitting somewhere with my name on it!
