pixtotts it's all down to where you are selling them. At a bootsale you would get a £2, at a fair you would get £10. It's often not what you are selling but the type of customer you are selling to.
Well ds missed his train by seconds. His money fell out of this pocket in the car. I had to turn round to drop it off, but we were too late. So a lovely 50 minute round trip for me to drop him off at his bosses house. Not quite what I had in mind to start my day at 5.45 this morning. And it wasn't even a nice sunny morning, it's overcast with spots of rain. I wanted to get in the trailer today to sort out the camping gear to sell. But I'm not taking the chance of it all getting wet.
I know if I don't do it the sun will shine, but if I do we will get a shower.
Whose staying up to watch the game tonight ?0 -
Own My Own -Oh yes definitely, I'm not quite sure what to expect of this one to be honest, they are calling it a country fayre, it's kind of replacing the villege fete but more... bigger, better?
we'll find out... They are even charging an entry fee, and have waay more stalls than usual. Ooh I googled they even have a website for it! - http://www.greatwitleycountryfayre.btck.co.uk/
Doesn't sound like your having a very good morning, the dropping money in the car and only just missing train sounds exactly like something I would do though. I hope the day picks up for you .
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -
I've decided it's definitely time for me to join you all over here, I have read back over the last week and feel like I have lots to do, I felt on track until I realised with a baby due in January and a toddler in tow I'm going to need to be more organised than ever this year. Not sure where to store stuff this year as it's usually the top of the wardrobes but won't be able to climb up by November/ December. Hugs to all who need them, I'll try my best to stay out of lurkdom and post at least once a week, take care xPlanning to be debt free by 11/20. Oh my word, was in a £shop opposite my brothers this morning and saw a pack of incense sticks which screamed out to be bought (well 2 actually!) Winter vanilla, gingerbread man, winter spice, cranberry cupcake, apple & cinnamon, how could I possibly say no?
Have had an unexpected bonus of sorts. Ordered 2 personalised rucksacks for the littlies in Egypt, had confirmed payment when I realised that the delivery address had defaulted to home. I generally have anything like that delivered to work (lucky that way) so I don't have to go to the po to collect. Anyway I immediately emailed them asking them to change the delivery address and got an email confirming it had been done. Delivered at work on Thursday but when I got from work on Thursday, I had a card saying I needed to collect something from the po, had no idea what it could be so collected this morning. Yes, they have 2 bags each! Just checked my account and I have only been debited once. Can't sell as they are Arabic names and not that common there either.
Some of you have had a bad week, next will be better, we are another week closer to Christmas
JJ, where are you? Hope u doing okA smile costs little but creates much0 -
Mrsm, that is awful! I'm so glad it was all sorted though.
Pixtotts, they are lovelygood luck with the sales!
We have a family BBQ tomorrow and trying to do my usual trick of pretending to be a domestic goddess I decided to take two tarts along. The pastry recipe is a new one and an absolute bloody nightmare! After an hour of me almost in tears and screaming about wasted money (on ingredients) and tough pastry, I threw it in the bin. I've whipped up another batch with a different recipe and it's now 8.15, I'm no where near finished, and we can't have dinner until I'm finished with the ovenwhy do I never learn?

Sorry my quotes are so late. With the longer days I keep forgetting how late it actually is.
Freespirit ds thinks he is going to stay awake to watch the Japan game that kicks off at 2 in the morning. I can't see it somehow :rotfl: he has been up since 4.30.
Right I'm off, they are walking onto the pitch0 -

Hello All....I've been here lurking in the shadows a bit recently...things aren't fabulous at home so I haven't felt much like posting until today. I love reading all your lovely posts and especially Own my Own's daily quotes
It's lovely to see so many followers of this post now...oh how it's grown in the last few years :xmassmile:xmastree:
Eek we're almost half way there!!! This year's just flying by! My house is being taken over by presents....I look at my pile and think "Wow I must be nearly done" then I check my spreadsheet and realise that actually I'm nowhere near done...So many family members to buy for yet all I keep adding to the pile is Kids toys (Despite having the kids bought for by the end of March) for my 2 :undecided
Unfortunately my OH lost his job in March...whilst he is now back in work our monthly income is fairly lower than it was...I'm still working for Argos (Some of you may remember I got a temp Christmas position around September time last year - well they decided to keep me on permanently :j ) but can only do 15 hours max due to childcare and benefits...so I'm trying to think of cheaper alternatives for presents this year with money being as it is...but without looking like a scrooge. Hoping to get all my shopping pretty much finished by the end of October so that my wages won't be going on presents and will be able to use for festive days out with the kiddies...My eldest is now nearly 4 so is definitely getting to appreciate the festivities of Christmas these days
Oh gosh I'mrambling on....sorryI guess I'm just glad to be back in to the swing of things :rudolf:
I hope you're all well!!!0
