Good morning
another wet day here in Essex. Today I'm off to Lakeside for a bit of me time. What with half term and running around for school, chair of pta, I put this week in the diary for Me. Hoping to get a few xmas bits and gonna enjoy a coffee and piece of cake in peace!
A funny day yesterday I was driving home after picking up 'Kirsties Christmas Crafts' from the library singing along to Xmas music , well it felt like that kind of a day when the school rang. I've been voted in as parent governor, had forgotten I'd put myself up for it. Guess I'll be doing more for the school:o on the plus side I'm redesigning our Santas Grotto. Going foŕ a white theme. Now looking to get a white gazebo with sides, any recommendations?
Dd is off to Colchester Castle today for her school trip. Nice day for it! Then off to dentist fun day.
OMO you're doing great with the selling, never have a lot of joy with Facebook sales but then I don't have much I get rid of. The caravan may be a bit of a distance away but you'll get there. You seem a very determined lady.
Must try keep up with the thread more often. Sending positive thoughts and hugs to anyone that needs them.:xmassmile0 -

hope everyone is well
its wet and miserable here, feel sorry for a blackbird whos so srenched hes decided to try and take shelter under my patio table by sitting on one of the supports, trouble is he keeps getting dripped on so ends up shuffling along the wooden strut every time a big drip falls on him. shouldnt laugh at his misery but it did make me smileSPC~12 ot 124

Just popping in to quickly say hello :hello:
Still around and reading every day. Life tends to get in the way of posting though.
Hugs and good vibe wishes for all those that need them.
I've bought my DS his 14th birthday pressie already - his birthday is in December, but he wanted his West Ham season ticket renewed.
Also bought some of his Christmas pressies - a push scooter from Amazon using gift vouchers earned from TopCashBack and a BMX stunt bike with mag type wheels that was on offer at Sports Direct. He also wants a pet snake, so I will obviously need to get that closer to Christmas (so as to avoid unnatural death issues from lack of care!!). I think a nice red corn snake will be appropriate.
I bought my 10 month old twin nephews a Coupe car each for Christmas when they were on offer on Tesco Direct last month, and also got their 1st birthday pressies (21 August) which were on special offer on Amazon (ride on's that start as rockers).
All other birthday pressies for family and friends for the rest of the year are also sorted.
I have all the small Christmas gifts already for the rest of the family. We do a secret santa, so I will only know around October who my main person is, so can do nothing in that regard until I know who I have to buy for. I have been stashing my Amazon vouchers from shopandscan and Consumer Pulse for this purpose, and hope to find something nice for my person in the Black Friday Amazon sales.
Next goal is to get the stocking fillers sorted out. I bought a few bits from Boots in the 70% sale, and have been hoarding Lynx when I find it on offer as my DS seems to bath in the stuff.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
..one size fits all... and nobody minds if you give it back.☆.。.:*・° Housework is so much easier without the clutter ☆.。.:*・°SPC No. 5180 -
Gettingtherequickly wrote: »Got to say, when I was made redundant, I was glad to see the back of the place! When I joined the company, we all loved working there, and believe me, we worked out butts off, but things went downhill when we took over another company. They didn't have the same work ethic as us and were grossly overpaid (advantage to that was our t&c's had to be revised up) but they felt they were superior to us. When we left, we left with friends for life, strengthened by the fact we had grown with the company. Had to take a salary cut when I started this job, but does it bother me, not in the slightest, working a lot less hours, no stress and a fab boss who was at the back of the queue when it came to patience but at the front when it came to generosity, so good things will come of your redundancy.
I know exactly what you mean, luckily we don't have many of the people from the new people actually come to our offices so nothing is too different, except for the fact that they are a massive company so now trying to get anything done/approved is an absolute nightmare! You are right in one respect that if I wasn't being made redundant I don't think I would stay anyway as they're not the type of company I would want to work for, I think i'm just mourning the way things used to be before we were sold!0 -
Feisty sorry to hear you haven't received good news, will keep those positive thoughts coming! Wishing you lots of luck with the flat too.
Freespirit poor you being saddled with his debts, I would be so angry too! And the bank really not helping, I think they forget sometimes that we're actually human beings who have different situations going on. I hope you manage to get it sorted soon.
mrsmoneypenny sorry to hear about your son, lots of rest for him and hopefully it won't take him too long to recover. I think we're all guitly of assuming the men in our lives just have 'man-flu' when they get a bit ill!
OMO I can get a bit impatient too when I really want something and it can feel like you're never going to get there - but you will! It's all about keeping strong minded and disciplined to save and that day will come when you get to buy your lovely caravan. Then we're all coming on holiday with you!I love that quote - I do that ALL the time! I'm intrigued by your Facebook selling, how does it work? I hear about lots of people selling stuff on there but I haven't got a clue how you go about it.
msgigglewick what's your new business?? I hope your daughters exam went well. Sorry to hear about your old school friend and at such a young age, what a sad situation for the whole family.
springdreams you are so organised!! I am in awe...0 -
I know I meant to be saving, but I couldn't resist it for £15. It had been up for sale for 2 days without any interest. I do feel very posh. :rotfl:0

Very swish OMOA good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.
