Morning :hello:
Harrogate was lovely the sun was shining bright and very much enjoyed it! Was not OS in the slightest but I am now being goodThe only downside was being full of cold all weekend, still got it now
doing my best not to give it my OH as he goes on a stag do all weekend from Friday and that wouldn't be fair! He has been looking after me well though, brought me a cuppa to bed last night and made my lunch for work today whilst I sat in a hot bubbly bath :kisses3:
he is very good
I have read through what I missed, I apologise now as I can't remember everything I was going to mention - cold is not helping either!
BEG - we stopped at the Old Swan Hotel which was quite expensive and was not worth it's money! £138 per night per room:eek: OH's parent's paid for us all though and they complained and got £30 off, I am going to be leaving a diplomatic review as some parts were OK but as I say not worth it's money! OH did say we would of stopped at Travelodge as it was only up the road and we didnt mindhe is wondering if we try and go back with some friends as the bars were nice and stop at the travelodge!
OMO - What a very nice ''friend'' (that was sarcasm although very hard to show when typing I just realised)!! You are doing well on your fund you will have a lovely van when you have done.
Freespirit - feel better soon!
Nothing overly christmassy has progressed at our house, I am going to finish putting all the fathers day/birthday presents together (which I did start last week) and then I will be back on the Christmas train :snow_laug:xmastree:
Sorry I know I have missed people I was going to mention! Hugs & happy thoughts to everyone who is in need/wants!Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

£138 per night :eek: For that sort of price you would expect everything to be spot on. Watch out for the special offers for TL - we have had some cracking deals. Atm there is only one TL and can get a bit noisy as there is a nightclub next door and bars within close proximity but they are building another (should be ready for later this year apparently) and it is going to be more family friendly. Mind you we have usually been mid week and have never been bothered by the noise (no, it's not us that's out there making all the noise). Pleased you enjoyed Harrogate but sorry that you have got a nasty cold. Hope you feel better soon.

Hello everyone, i'm back and have enjoyed catching up!
junior_j good luck with the Scotland pot - I love it up there! I'm pleased to hear of your referral and hope they can find some answers to a better treatment for you.
Nanamia wonderful news that your DGN is now doing better. :T I have missed where you are but hope you're having a wonderful time. x Thank you for the update on Feisty, sending lots of positive thoughts.
Ruth_honey sorry to hear you've had to say goodbye to your old bike - what a shock that must have been looking down at your legs! I hope you find a suitable new bike that you can enjoy. I share your Sky+ box woes, we had stuff recorded to about 90% capacity and had to reboot and lose it all! We were told it was because our box was too full, but why say you're at 90% and have 10% left if already you have too much?! Needless to say we're more careful of clearing it out now!
Newthrift glad you had a lovely time in Harrogate but sorry to hear you've picked up a cold. Happy to hear OH is taking good care of you though! It's always disappointing when hotels don't live up to expectations, especially for the cost, i've had that before. Sorry to hear of your brothers accident but glad he's ok.
Gettingtherequickly I am just like you with cake decorating - I love baking but lose patience with decorating! I did a cake decorating course once which was good and I enjoyed it but also made me learn that I probably don't want to do it for a living! I think I like the idea of it more than the reality!
Doodygirl yay for your first Christmas present purchase! I am way behind this year as I usually pick stuff up in January but didn't this year.
Quidsy good luck with your financial goals, you'll get there with a bit of determintation!
Mrsmoneypenny sorry to hear DS is unwell, I hope he recovers soon. Thanks for the link to the Yankee candles link, how different!
OMO congrats to your son for passing his test (I also had to look up what it meant!) that's great news. I can't believe your 'friend' had the cheek to do that!!! I just can't understand people sometimes as there's no way in a million years I would dream of doing that. I'm backing you all the way with your pot and know you'll get a much better caravan!
Freespirit sorry to hear you've been suffering with your IBS, my mum gets that so know how awful it is. Glad you're doing better and well done with the walking, they say it's one of the best forms of exercise. Plus it helps to clear the mind sometimes. Coffee & walnut cake is my absolute favourite - mind if I pop round for a cuppa and a slice?!
mrsinvisible I am excited for you for your trip to China! I have never been but imagine it can be an amazing place to visit. Hope you have a fab time.0 -
Well i've had a lovely time away and feel very rested. Or at least I did until the alarm went off at 6:30 this morning! We stayed in a lovely wooden lodge in a forest, it was very relaxing and good for the soul! We had virtually no signal on our phones which was a pain at times but a good thing really to get away from technology.
I also made progress on my Christmas shopping - I found a 'LOL' mug for my brother, he ends nearly every message he sends with LOL so couldn't resist! I also found a lovely snood for a friend so they're being stashed away in the Christmas box.
Well I am now in my last month of work as I am due to be made redundant at the end of June. I've known for a long time (our company was taken over last year and it's been slowly shutting down since) but it feels like it's come round quite quickly now. I'm sad because once I leave that's it - no going back! It won't be here at the end of the year so it's not like I can pop back to see people. It's such a shame as it's such a great place to work, but unfortunately nothing I can do to change it. I think this month is going to fly by!0 -

Got to say, when I was made redundant, I was glad to see the back of the place! When I joined the company, we all loved working there, and believe me, we worked out butts off, but things went downhill when we took over another company. They didn't have the same work ethic as us and were grossly overpaid (advantage to that was our t&c's had to be revised up) but they felt they were superior to us. When we left, we left with friends for life, strengthened by the fact we had grown with the company. Had to take a salary cut when I started this job, but does it bother me, not in the slightest, working a lot less hours, no stress and a fab boss who was at the back of the queue when it came to patience but at the front when it came to generosity, so good things will come of your redundancy.A smile costs little but creates much0 -
BEG - yes I think we saw that TL, we did say bet it would be noisy with the bar below; saying that me and OH would possibly have been in there if we had been stopping in that one :rotfl:It is a shame, so much worse as my OH's parents run 4* holiday cottages + lorry firm (I help out + have a job 3 days a week) and they are leaps and bounds above that place which was meant to be 4* too  I think it was lacking a little TLC if i'm honest, which was a shame. I do imagine in it's hay day it would of been fantastic!!
Princesskitty - Thank you
sounds similar to a big company I know near here (and all through UK) it's just gone downhill since and original staff are being made redundant left right and centre! Our work place got taken over last year and it is just very stressful, in honesty I am waiting for redunancey it would be better! Every cloud though so I hope you find something much betterChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Gettingtherequickly wrote: »Just ordered a couple of large Winter Spice candles from Avon, £6 each, reduced from £10, probably not the greatest, but they will be fine for the season and to get into spirit of things. But having said that, Avon stuff tends to be good. Ordered other bits to justify the £3.50 delivery.
OMO, love the way you are just charging through the savings, think you will be buying well ahead of planned date.
ETA: Oh dammit, missed the reduced delivery code,99pdel, ends tonight, so probably worth having a look
If you miss the reduced delivery, or have a rep (or you can find a rep using the website, way to keep delivery free) they are the same price in the C11 sales book, most will be either just going onto C11 or it's up next, the winter spice diffuser is in there too £4...
I can't remember what the candles smelt of.... but they are a very pretty colour! We got someone one for Christmas
Candy cane nail strips are also in there £3, I used them last Christmas and loved them! planning on getting some for each my friends this year
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -
Hello lovelies, I'm sneaking back in.
Thank you for all the positive thoughts and well wishes.
We haven't exactly had the greatest of news and in all honesty it's knocked us both for 6. We are going to try and keep positive and live life to the max, as you never know how short it may be!
