Welcome Sammy. I think I'm doing hampers for the grown ups this year (one per couple I think) - that way they won't get the same thing from anyone else and they wont know how much they cost either - win win lol. I'd definitely recommend Home Bargains or B&M if you're going to use baskets although I do think the giant popcorn holders make great containers for movie hampers.

Hope everyone's animals are soon feeling tip top. Our Bonnie (Jack Russell terrier) who is 9 years old now, had quite a few teeth out a couple of weeks back and is now tucking into those hide bones like a puppy - she's never really done it before so it's making me wonder if her teeth have been hurting her for ages and we didn't know. Just had her insurance renewal in - £33 a month  Unfortunately now she's 9 we're unlikely to get insurance elsewhere so it's really that or nothing. We have a £70 excess, have to pay 20% of the balance and it doesn't cover special food or dental related things! They were very good when we first got her though because she had a liver shunt and they paid out about £3000+ for surgery in her first few months and the insurance was only £7.50 a month then. Think I might have paid it back by now though :D
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Hi lovelies , throat infection is clearing but going to chest! Tut tut. Anyway, I think it's all because I have been on the go! So today I slept.. A lot and feel a lot better for it. :o

Hope all these doggies are feeling better soon! Our oldest dog is a miniature dachshund who is 10 apart from having big dental surgery last year or was it beginning of this year? Well apart from that she is doing quite good although she's having some dry skin , changed diet slightly and that's helping ..

My bills are getting on top of me so I have sat down tonight and worked out what I have to pay and when. Need to save for Scotland miss my friends and Goddaughters far to much.

Anyway hope you lovely people are good!

As for decluttering I will be doing some myself on Monday! My room (which is tiny , needs some tlc! )

Good morning, hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I saw the Debenh*ms 70% off bayliss and harding, and ordered 2 sets with dressing gowns to put away for Christmas, and got some 75% off cards from cancer research charity website, now need to put them somewhere safe, and write a note of their whereabouts in my diary, so I don't lose them! Also got my friends little boy a 1/2 price box of 400 lego bricks from Asd* for his birthday on Easter Monday.
But... I also bought me 3 clematis plants to ramble over the new fence so that's £15 out of the budget blown. Might have to sell a child or two.
Freespirit, and all you other decorators, my living room needs mega work on it, you are making me feel guilty.

Evening everyone, hope you have all had a good weekend :) I look a right sight today two big red styes again in one eye and my usual swelling up, DD2 facetimed me from Thailand and said i looked like i had gone 10 rounds in a boxing ring :p DS made me get out in the garden today to do some challenges, omg it is just awful, i just dont know where to start, its so neglected, and half finished (from exH), decking is beginning to rot in places, fencing has got some holes in it, nettles everywhere, a massive pond that needs to be filled in, its really got me down a) i dont have the know how and b) i dont have the money. I think DS is right we need to get a chainsaw and just get rid of everything :D my veggie patch is overgrown (my fault) i just cant get back into it since he left, two greenhouses sitting doing nothing, i really need to rethink what he has done out there it is so bitty, i thought shrubs would be easy to look after but they are all straggling over ndn especially the forsythia and wisteria and climbing rose is straggling over other ndn and round the blooming wires that go over our garden, (telephone and electricity) i will be glad to get back to my painting tomorrow and that is saying something ;)

MRSINVISIBLE we are at opposites your garden is getting attention not your LR, my LR is getting attention but not my garden, any tips on an easy to look after garden??

CHRISSY great result on the sewing machine :)

JUNIORJ hi glad you are keeping well (well except for the throat and chest) :)

Will post challenges tomorrow cba to go into bedroom and get them  sorry for having a moan needed to get it off my chest, night

Chrissy, go you, well done. That is a great bargain, happy sewing.
OMO, that quote is on my bedroom wall, a present from DB and SIL last Christmas, still makes me smile.
Freespirit, aaaarrrgggghhh. I know how you feel, gardens so quickly get out of control, and cause real despair. Chain saws are one solution, as your DS says. However, I would just draw yourself a picture of what you really want and work slowly at it an area at a time. Then just keep that area tidy while you are dealing with the next bit. ExSIL and I have just about finished the 5 year plan for the next stage of mine, to make it less energy intense, with low maintenance winters.
Fave Cous came yesterday and we ordered her the Bayliss and Harding things from Debenh*ms, too, so although I spent, it was her money, good feeling. We are going to have a day out together on Thursday, visiting 2 lake district garden centres, and eating afternoon teas, I wish I were rich. (actually no I don't, as then I might not have met all my lovely cyberfriends on here.). Off to peg washing out, then coffee.
