I've just subscribed and popped in to say you are very bad people - I stayed awake until 2 am yesterday morning and 5 am the night before reading and following the links to various sites. I was supposed to get up early and go to the doctor's - failed twice now.

I have to say that, having been confined to bed for three weeks, Taking painkillers (overdid diy - trying to get the house up for sale and done something nasty to my leg) you really have saved my sanity but you're so addictive .

Will join in more actively when I can manage more than 3 x 15 minute sessions of housework a day and got house plans back on track but plans for Christmas and birthdays are underway. Going to have fun cutting bunnies, tulips and eggs from a bag of foam sheets that were cleared out of the smallest bedroom prior to decorating (only 15 minutes of painting left but can't get up ladder - managed the part that's done by bribing DS3 and standing on a box 5 minutes at a time). Really need to get back to doctor's for advice on how to proceed from here - lot less pain but no where near normal.

    Hello and Welcome :hello:

You must be having a bad time if WE saved your sanity. Either that or your stark raving mad and you'll fit in here just fine. :rotfl:

Welcome Mothernerd - hope you're soon feeling much better and up and about again.

OMO - glad Mia is on the mend, it must have been a real worry.

Nana - glad you're back and well done on the bedroom progress. I think you're amazing to have stripped the woodchip, years ago we had some that even resisted the industrial sized steam stripper!

Newthrift - the scarves look great and very complicated!

Freespirit - painting is one of those things that's a good idea and great when it's done but the bit in the middle is a right pain! I was really shocked to hear about Peaches Geldof yesterday too, it's so sad when someone so young dies whatever the reason. Her family must be reeling.

Feisty - good news about the bank. Hope Mr Feisty is ok.

Not much to report here - got DGS2 (4 months) for the day tomorrow (my regular Wednesday treat) and DGD for a few days next week so lots to look forward to. Have finally finished huge new mum pamper hamper that I've made but it's from DD2 for her friend and also the covers for the dolls pram that we've got DGD for her 5th birthday in a couple of weeks. Might give it to her when she comes up next week though as she'll no doubt get lots on her birthday and also it will save me trying to hide it!

Very involved with doing the family history at the mo - not easy as half of Mum's family are from Ireland when you go back more than two generations and half of Dad's family are from Poland two generations back!
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

    Evening everyone,

I get the guilty feeling too. It's silly because you've bought something you know they'll like and you got a bargain on it. My friend crotchets or knits things for people but doesn't class them as a 'present' because they're hand made! Never mind that often the wool costs more than what a present usually does.
I'd rather have a gift that some thought has gone into-even if it only costs £1-than something which has clearly been bought with no effort whatsoever. (Hope my brother takes note!)
Pie and mash seems a very English thing to eat, so I think I'd see if hubby can whip up a steak and ale pie.
Any joy on the Grand National bet?

Ha afraid not, one of mine was in the lead for a while then got knocked down by a riderless horse :D we always have a little bet it makes us think of my nan she loved the grand national

    Back from the vets. :D
Mia is fine. It is hot spot. She has antibiotics and steroid anti-inflammatories.
Cost £60 but worth it. We are not using the insurance as it will only make it dearer next year, and it isn't an ongoing problem.
Ds is paying half as he had a good win on the football yesterday.
I bought some lovely lights yesterday in Lidl's.

I have put them on top of the wood the lounge curtain rail is on. It does look very posh. Not me at all :rotfl:

Oh OMO so glad MIA is going to be fine bless her, love the lights and yes i am one of the lazy ones :D:D

Good evening lovelies. Must say feels good to be popping in at this time, more like me :) I've failed to catch up on the missing posts as yet but will stick at it. Mothernerd welcome, sounds as tho you are already one of us :) Yep it's addictive :) and I love it xxx
Peppa the woodchip was horrendous, then some weird white bubbly layer followed by a yucky green stuff- who knows what those layers were (must've been painted on) but gone now. Sanding is the mornings job, so I will let you know b_e_g I hope you are right. I'm both amazed and delighted with the sliding doors and excited to see them finished. Don't think anybody else will get excited over them, I chose the plainest possible white ones, didn't fancy the modern high gloss or mirrors cos they'll probably be up for the next 30 years :)
Glad Mia is on the mend Linky and that the bank news was pleasing Feisty .
Hugs and love to you all till I catch up with events. Night night Sis xxx

    Hello all!

    How we all doing?

I am on day 2 of a nasty throat infection - 10 days of 8 penicillen today so hoping tomorrow (day 3 of anti bs) will start improving it!

Had a lazy day today stayed in and watched a film "Man on fire" with mum and number 1 cousin which was lovely!

Went to Asda this evening for ice cream and pink wrapping paper for Goddaughters first birthday! Need to remember before 2pm tomorrow to order a card for her from Moonpig!

Anyway! I shall try to catch up and remember the answers :)

I found lots of tags 3 rolls of Xmas wrapping paper and lots of bows/ribbons which I have stashed away also found a new lip balm set which is in the Xmas stash! :)

Got two tired doggies hinting for bed so am off for now you lovely lot!

Mothernerd - :hello: it is very addictive, I love it!! Hope you mend soon!
peppapig - thank you :) I'm hoping they will love them for Christmas and apperciate the time spent searching for wool bargins :rotfl: It's honestly really easy, I am a very novice knitter!! Have a wonderful day with your DGS & DGD.

Well I am now having to start a list of what I have brought already for Christmas & cost as me and OH always pay 50/50 for everyone's gifts - I purchase first as I love looking around, he helps when I need and then pays me half which is fine by me :D He does think I have gone a little mad making for Christmas in April, I won't tell him I started on here in Feb :o:D
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
