Thanks for the supportive messages folks, haven't caught up to be able to acknowledge everyone.

Re the £75 pe kit, is this for Primary or Secondary school? Including footwear my 14yo son's pe kit is well over £100. He has to have a black rugby outdoor top, white indoor top, shorts, white socks, black football socks, trainers, football boots and shin pads.

My daughter starts at the same school in Sept, and though I don't know the girl full kit yet, she will also have to have football boots.

It's why I make sure xmas present don't cost too much.:p:D

Both my kids birthdays were last month and they received a book token each from their Aunt. DD spent hers last week at WHSmith, she got 2 books because they were buy one, get 2nd half price and then bought a 3rd with the value left on it. Anyway I got a reward card for buying kids books, with 3 stamps on it (1 per book) and it said collect 4 stamps for lego figues, collect 6 for an art set, but I thought the best was collect 8 for £10 off kids books with a min spend of £10.

Son still has his book token to spend, so I thought I'd take him into WHS and have the stamps for the books he gets, and then between now and xmas I'll have made it up to 8 stamps and I can get a free book. :j

i dont think schools count footwear when they sell the kit, that is usually bought from shops so would possibly be extra to the £75 quoted.

my school sell the socks tops and shorts then say what footwear shin pads etc you need as well as allowing you to wear plain non logo or stripe seam joggers or tracky bottoms for outdoor pe but you can source those youself. (as i said earlier most of us 'source' the shorts and white pe tops elsewhere also)

love todays quote, reminds me of the joke about the dyslexic agnostic insomniac who stayed awake at night wondering if their really was a dog.
    no offence meant to anyone.

    Hi everyone :)

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately but I've still been popping in to read and catch up.

It is organised chaos at work at the moment. I've just had one of those days where you feel you haven't got anything done & the 'to do' list has got longer!

    Hope everyone is keeping well.

Hi all. Haven't posted in quite a while. Hope everyone is well.

OMO I love the quotes, I have a good chuckle over each of them!

Re PE kit, I remember when I got to high school it was so expensive that my Mum bought the biggest size in everything and they lasted me 5 years! I remember the netball skirt and tennis skirt being below my knee in year 7 and in year 11 they were mini skirts! :rotfl:

Well, SIL has gone home, and DGS is going home in an hour, so I will be alone. I think it signals early night. Glad you are back, Nanamia, and that Mia's sore face is being limited, OMO.
JJ not another infection, honey, hope the biotics work.
today l have been busy in the garden, we have cut down the huge willow tree from next doors garden which was stopping the light getting to my other neighbours patio, and making my trees lean forwards to get a share of sun. Now I have to get rid of all the branches, the logs will go to the neighbour with the log burner, and the rest will get shredded, by Nev-the shred. It will take the garden a long while to recover, though, as it is so wet underfoot.
Nana I have severe wardrobe envy, send/post photos asap.
