Sorry to hear that Mia is not well. Hope vet manages to give her something to sort the problem.

Sounds as though you have had a great weekend Ruth. Sorry that you missed the Autoglym offer at Halfords. My DB is getting one for his birthday next week and I keep thinking it doesn't look much (only paid £6.66 for it) but is would normally be a lot more. Should I feel guilty? I know he will appreciate it as he always likes a nice clean car. :D

Had a squirt of One Direction perfume whilst waiting for Mum's prescription this afternoon - didn't seem too bad at first but I am not too sure now (bit sickly).

Well going to get my pjs on just before the oven pings and then I think I will become a couch potato for the rest of the evening. :D

    Take care everyone

I get the guilty feeling too. It's silly because you've bought something you know they'll like and you got a bargain on it. My friend crotchets or knits things for people but doesn't class them as a 'present' because they're hand made! Never mind that often the wool costs more than what a present usually does.
I'd rather have a gift that some thought has gone into-even if it only costs £1-than something which has clearly been bought with no effort whatsoever. (Hope my brother takes note!)

I have this problem, I paint glasses and mugs for my friends but always end up getting a bottle of something and flowers to go with it.
It's so hard to value a handmade gift :/

feisty I hope the two links work as I don't know how to post the actual photo from my phone! The grey one is the first one and I have done the reddy one tonight. The reddy one is going in to the Christmas stash :D

    Your scarves look lovely. :T

Nanamia - lovely to see you back on form. ;) All your work seems to be progressing really well. We discovered woodchip inside our old built in wardrobes too. :rotfl: DH said that it wasn't too bad to remove - like boards I believe as it that much emulsion paint on over the years. Then lots of filling and sanding and hey presto the result was more than acceptable. Good luck with the wardrobe building. x

Ruth - decided that the car gift pack will be sufficient for DB and I'm not going to feel guilty one little bit. ;) He actually commented the other day that it was about time I stopped giving his son (24) and daughter (18) their easter money - he probably has a point - will review this next year. After saying that they (probably sil) still sends for my DS and he is 27 :D

Didn't bother with breakfast this morning (naughty I know) and at this moment in time I am absolutely bloomin starving. Lunch time cannot come quick enough. You may think you can hear thunder - well it could well be my rumbling tum :o. Decision time - do I stitch to pass the time or get the ironing board out? :rotfl:

    Take care everyone

BeG don't keep us in suspense, did you stitch or iron? ;) I would have chosen stitch personally.

Nana so lovely to see you back xxx

Well the bank visit was actually a success - we now have the option of staying put for another year if the flat doesn't value too well. It will still be more expensive than now, but manageable :)

    Back from the vets. :D
Mia is fine. It is hot spot. She has antibiotics and steroid anti-inflammatories.
Cost £60 but worth it. We are not using the insurance as it will only make it dearer next year, and it isn't an ongoing problem.

Ds is paying half as he had a good win on the football yesterday.

I bought some lovely lights yesterday in Lidl's.

I have put them on top of the wood the lounge curtain rail is on. It does look very posh. Not me at all :rotfl:

Neither :rotfl: I got carried away on the laptop which passed the time quite nicely but I have now done the ironing, taken it upstairs and now I am having a nice cup of Earl Grey :p:D Pleased to hear that the bank appt went better than you expected.

So pleased to hear that Mia has got some meds so hopefully they will do the trick for her.

Love the lights btw. I was in Lidl this morning - I needed a couple of their little baguettes and Mum said she wanted some foodstuff to send to the local foodbank. I seemed to get quite a bag full for just over a fiver. We don't really eat much tinned food, so I have never tried any of it but it should be ok. I usually go to Lidl on Saturday mornings to see what half prices offers they have.

I've just subscribed and popped in to say you are very bad people - I stayed awake until 2 am yesterday morning and 5 am the night before reading and following the links to various sites. I was supposed to get up early and go to the doctor's - failed twice now.

I have to say that, having been confined to bed for three weeks, Taking painkillers (overdid diy - trying to get the house up for sale and done something nasty to my leg) you really have saved my sanity but you're so addictive .

Will join in more actively when I can manage more than 3 x 15 minute sessions of housework a day and got house plans back on track but plans for Christmas and birthdays are underway. Going to have fun cutting bunnies, tulips and eggs from a bag of foam sheets that were cleared out of the smallest bedroom prior to decorating (only 15 minutes of painting left but can't get up ladder - managed the part that's done by bribing DS3 and standing on a box 5 minutes at a time). Really need to get back to doctor's for advice on how to proceed from here - lot less pain but no where near normal.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
