OMO I've just been reading about it on the BBC news website, what a devastating event!
I did smile though at DS's comment. I supported an autistic girl a few years ago who always took what I said literally. I was forever asking children (though I never asked her) "what are you waiting for, a bus?" To which they would reply giggling, "Yes" knowing I'd say something daft like "They're on strike today/don't come this way on a Thursday, so you'll have to walk." but she would always say, very seriously, "Buses aren't allowed in school, they're only allowed on roads."
One day, in yr6, she actually answered for me with, "The driver won't let you on because you're a smelly boy and only princesses are allowed" and spent 10 mnutes giggling at herself0 -
Freespirit, hope you get that sorted right away, feeling for you, what a rotten task even without the storm winds.
OMO your DS cracks me up. I love his response to the cat swinging, and laughed out loud as I read it. (thankfully I'm on my own, ) Hope you have a lovely shopping spree, with or without BFF.
Got washing almost dry this morning, before the rains came, looks like an ironing marathon is the order of the afternoon! ho, hum.
There is a meeting this evening about the future of secondary education in the town, as two (of3) schools are going to close and there are plans for one academy, but no funds for new build, so goodness only knows what sort of a camel will be the result. (camel= a racehorse designed by a committee)
Off to get ready for Sil who is coming for coffee this afternoon.0 -
Also, OMO thoughts and prayers for the people involved in that dreadful explosion, and those affected by it.0

OMO I read about the gas explosion at lunchtime. The frightening thing is that it could happen anywhere. Hope the people involved are all ok.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

OMO- I popped on earlier and saw your posts about the explosion- must be worrying/thought provoking at the very least to have it happen so close to where you are. Fingers crossed that everyone makes a full recovery ( I haven't seen the news yet so I hope that all injuries are treatable).
Freespirit- you are having a bit of a time of it at the moment aren't you? I hope you manage to get it sorted soon as possible x
JJ- BRILLIANT that you are back home and well done you (and I don't know HOW you manage it!) for being soooo dammed positive in the face of all your troubles. You are a super star in my books!
Nanamia- the sandal is finished but wont be gracing a cake any time soon- looks more like a 'stompy shoe' than a sandal to me! Never mind- practice makes perfect (it had damn well better improve or it can 'pick its window' as Caitlyn says)
As far as SW is concerned Im not happy as I have maintained for the last two weeks so I have GOT to get myself back on track and start shedding the flubber.
Hope everyone is OK , especially those in the flood areas xxlovin' this site!

MONDAY
Anxiety and fear can protect you from danger, when you feel under threat, anxiety and fear trigger the release of hormones, such as adrenaline. Adrenaline causes your heart to beat faster to carry blood where its most needed. You breathe faster to provide the extra oxygen required for energy. You sweat to prevent overheating. Your mouth may feel dry, as your digestive system slows down to allow more blood to be sent to your muscles. Your senses become heightened and your brain becomes more alert.

Did find a bargain this week tho, extending table and 6 chairs brand new ex Argos stock off gumtree for £175, still selling online for 799, so chuffed with that, nestled nicely in the loft til we move :-), will catch up properly soon, hope everyone is ok x0
