According to the news there are people unaccounted for. Search and rescue are at the scene. I can still hear more sirens coming. 2 helicopters have landed. The explosion bought the house next door to it down as well.0 -

I'm going into work later today. The road that mine goes into is being used for redirection. I have tried to get out once but it's full both ways.
It's strange but even when you know the area, being redirected confuses you.
It is one of the busiest roads in the morning rush hour. It is the route to 3 schools (one in the actual road, dd's, and another primary school),and the route out of town for many people. At 8.30 I expect it would have been packed with commuters on and road and foot.
10 people have so far been taken to hospital, one with life threatening injuries. He is a man in his 70's. A woman in her 50's has bad burns.0 -

A house a couple of roads away has just exploded. My friend ( who I go Christmas shopping with) lives in the next road to me and she felt it. The back door of her house flew open and things shook. I didn't hear it, but I knew something major had happened because of the amount of sirens I could hear.
Dd has just phoned me and said it is bedlam at school. They are right by the house and loads of the younger kids are crying. She said the windows shook and nobody knew if it was another part if the school that had blown up. They school is very old and set in two buildings either side of a cul-de-sac. It used to be boys one side, girls the other.
ETA - someone must be hurt. I can hear the helicopter. It lands on the field of dd's school when anyone needs airlifting to hospital.
The wind didn't stop all night here. The fence panel were banging all night. And it's freezing again although the sky is very clear. I think we are due another large downpour later. But then I think nearly everywhere is due it at some point today.
OMO i am here, migraine last couple of days and then DD1 woke me at 6.30am saying she can smell burning and the light in the conservatory is buzzing and arcing, me (old thicky) smelt something funny when i got up in the night but because we had awful storms all night i thought it was that earthy stormy smell, we havent used the light since new years day, and it isnt on the same circuit of lights to turn off at the mains so DD1 popped to BnQ and bought a tarpaulin and rope because roof is leaking into light fitting and we have spent all morning trying to cover the conservatory, in howling wind  i need to catch up on all my challenges since monday too. Oh god i have been reading on twitter about explosion and casualties, how awful, i didnt realise it was near you, btw your lovely DS has cheered me up out of my stressiness with his sayings bless him.#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0
