Hi all
Just a quick hello to say I am still around and will catch up tomm I promise....
It's been mad here, we managed to get wardrobes and bits from ikea on Saturday morning and the entire weekend was spent helping DH lay the new carpet and build the wardrobes. All done now and looks amazing but I am just trying to play catchup on the rest of the house which seems to have gone to pot and needs a good clean and tidy.
Hugs to anyone that needs one
XxxAims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -
I need a time frame now I think and I can give the decluttering one last shove! xxx
When I first read your post Nana - I read it as "one last shovel" Surely things can't be that bad. :rotfl::rotfl: That's what happens when I am lying at a funny angle with laptop wearing varifocals. Thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

OMO - love today's quote. Thank you. :T Love the idea of socks with the days on - must make the pairing up so much easier. Might have to have a little pop into Lidl tomorrow after the dentist (perhaps).
nic - congratulations on getting the job. Hope it leads to bigger and better things for you.
3forholidays and springdreams - thank you both for your lovely birthday pics. They are brilliant. Make my posts look rather boring.
Hanley - you poor thing. You must have been scared stiff especially being at home on your own. Take care.
BBTHREE - we are collecting our carpet on Wed and Ikea delivering on Saturday. Just wish it was here now as the whole house seems as though it is upside down. It will be worth it in the end.
So pleased I have managed to keep up with posts today.
Take care everyone

So DH phoned Interflora this morning and they are going to be replaced tomorrow. They will have cost a bl**dy fortune and I bet the other supermaket ones I received will outlive theirs by a mile. I hate people being ripped off. Rant over
Glad you had a lovely day BEG and I totally agree about the flowers. When my son in law was in Afghanistan last time with the army he used an online site (the one that links something in the sky with a farmyard animal) to send flowers, a ballon and a card to my daughter - she saw the entry on the bank statement when it came in so knew they cost a bomb and the flowers looked like those bunches you get from the local garage. Trouble is you don't want the person who sent them to know they were rubbish so these people just get away with it. Good on you for contacting the supplier and hope you really enjoy the replacement bunch.
MrsGigglewick - thanks for the Yankee candle post on the Grabbit thread - have just posted on there because I bought £92 worth of things for £51 then used your code and got £5 off so only paid £46. That means I saved £46 - go me! Except that really if I hadn't gone onto the Yankee site I'd have saved £92 :rotfl: I'm not sorry though - they were all Christmas themed things!
Hanley - sorry to hear about your window.Hope you manage to get it fixed very soon.
Nic - well done :T and you're right, a foot in the door is worth a lot because so many vacancies now are advertised internally first.
Nana - I hope Wilks don't follow Woolies too but it doesn't seem to work when these shops move away from what's made them popular. I tend to try B&M, Home Bargains and Poundland now before I get to Wilks. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

Nobody at work remembers it ?
Mind Your Language was definitely shown nationwide, in the late 1970s - I remember it well. I was quite young then and found it very funny to be honest, but the humour wouldn't be very PC these days. It had quite a large viewing audience then though.0 -

Oh Hanley that's awful I hope it doesn't cost too much to fix
Jess I'm glad you had a lovely day hope you didn't get up to anything else in those woods ;-)
Well my inquiry with the SEN unit was a waste of time it seems all school admissions go through the LEA. Hopefully it won't be too much of a faff I know T's paediatrician sends his reports to them so they should already be aware of him.
Thank you everyone for the kind words. It can be hard to see the wood for the trees sometimes. Thomas had a great night he slept 11pm-8am. My Oh left me in bed for a bit longer as I've not been sleeping well. I came downstairs to find Thomas playing with his scooter which was meant to be a birthday presentit was only £5 but he can't use it yet there was no reason at all to give it to him.
He's had a few meltdowns one particularly bad one on a bus. I stroke his cheek and stay quiet me talking makes him react even more. I could see a woman out of the corner of my eye glaring but I ignored her. Really, what did she expect me to do? Get him out on a moving bus, smack him? I am used to glares and comments now but it does irritate me. It was a bad day for his hypermobility when he walked his ankle kept bending inwards so he face planted the floor a lot. Oh dear.Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

I stopped getting buses, from getting on until we got off DS2 would scream inconsolably... We had a few comments.. the answer was usually and you think I LIKE hearing my son upset? You think I wouldn't make him stop if I could? You think no child has ever cried before? JJ lovely to hear that you are up to exercising! nothing like a walk in the fresh air!
Hanley, that is a scary thing, hope it isn't tooexpensive toput right, and at least the inner pane is intact.
Nic, well done on getting on the list, hope the work comes winging your way soon.
OMO, oh, your quotes just go on getting better. I will definitely use that one. I also reckon that pushing 60 was exercise enough, but now I'm pulling it after me!
I remember Mind your Language too, but it wasn't one of my favourites.
MrsM I'm working on it, does being a catalyst for disaster count as something I am good at? If so, go me!
I haven't got a lot on todays to do list, but all the things that are on are things I don't want to do. Mainly because where I need to be to do them is too blooming cold. On the plus side, I spoke to the insurers and they are releasing a cheque for the greenhouse today, and I told tem that I didn't want to claim for erecting it, as my 'team' of erectors, (Nev the shredder and Jim-Bob ) only accept bacon butties as currency, the man laughed and said ok they would cancel that part of the claim.0 -

The best piece of advice i was given by the Autism team was that when dd has a meltdown to stop all conversation and as long as she wasn't hurting herself walk away until she had come out of orbit. Not easy to do on a bus though.
DD's issues only started to come to light at Junior school so im not sure how it works with littlies but if you need support contact your local Parent Partnership they were invaluable to us . They came to meeting and held school accountable when they failed to deliver on their promises. They also have a direct line to the SEN dept at the LEA.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
