I can't sleep
Squeena this is for you, your DH and Thomas
I know ds' disability is nothing compared to Thomas' but I know how you feel. Ds wasn't diagnosed until he was 16 ( after a suicide attempt ), and for all those years I couldn't see any light. I didn't know how I would get through another day. But the light is there. Stop looking for it. Start everyday as a new day. xx0 -
Well my lovelies, I have been missing for days
tried a few times to pop on but kept getting bamboozled by life/events getting in the way!
Those of you with a limited amount of time feel free to bypass this post as I could be some considerable timexxx
b_e_g oh my lovely I'm so sorry I didn't get on in time to wish you happy birthday on the day. Happy belated birthday messages to you and Gleek I truly hope you've had a good day. I hope things are settling for you and you are finding time to be kind to yourself and maybe a therapeutic little embroidery. Sending love xxx
Mrs M hope you are okand have had a fun weekend, hopefully you will pop in and make my morning with your Mrs M Moment What a FB choice of song for your friends funeral. He must have chosen that himself mustn't he, what a sense of humour. You can't cry listening to that, that is for sure. Daren't mention it to DH it's one of his faves he might insist on it too (when the time comes) xxx
Mrsinvisible how on earth do you manage to do so much in one week. Are your days longer than mine, or am I as I fear toooooo lazy by half. Glad the greenhouse is sorted, you must be itching to get started on this years grows. Cheeky insurance company, paying up vibes off to them. Bold folk they are! Your talents obviously are elsewhere than baking haha, just whipped up a bit of upholstery!! Then coffeeHow was the skyping this weekend? I'm suffering "big fat missing my boy itus" at the moment
but love to see what he's up too and of course DDiL and the adorable VVVDGD1
I'm typing as I'm waiting for a photo to come through as she VVVDGD1 starts kindergarten today
How was grandma sister? And your VDGS not had an update for a while. What sad news about your neighbour. His poor dear wife, such a horrible time for her xxx
Ruth did you catch Beverley Knight on Wogan this morning. Wow the voice is unbelievable. Oooooh the show, you are going to just love it. It's out of this world, the music, the cast, the singing, the dancing, use of lights and set oh I really don't have the words ( Caitlyn would) We both just loved it. And the encore even had DH busting a few movesIt was such a wonderful night xxx
Msgigglewick hiya! I've missed you! hope the troublesome teen situation has improved. I can't believe you are back on SW I thought (photo of elf tshirt) you looked perfect, well like a yummy mummy to be precise. Where are you going to loose another stone from lady??? You did make me giggle with your Yankee candle order, well if DH will stay in bed his card is fair game I reckonHow is DD4, hope she's recovered well. And DD2 you must be so very proud. What a very talented bunch you are. How is DD1 getting on with her course ? xxx
his missus the lovelies have made wonderful! as always suggestions! I did for my BFF a kilner jar decorated and wrote inside 50 reasons she was my best friend, to be honest I could easily have done 50 more, so I will save them for her 100th xxx
Arthien well done on getting the travel guide! hope it gets here. You go very soon don't you? I love the TKMax home section too, my DH not so much ha xxx
Linky loving today's quote! good for you! I'm glad you got sorted at the opticians. Friends like that we can all do without I'm afraid. We do all know how you feel, you've always got usThat sounds more like a threat doesn't it haha. Exciting news, so you'll be disappearing you your tree again won't you
xxx
BBTHREE goodness me another fall!!! What are you like? I promise you SW is a doddle once you've got your head around it. I think your palate adjusts too. I have never ever eaten fruit or veg in my life but I've got used to it, I am NOT going to say I enjoy (cos that'd be breaking the habit of a life time but it's weird that I do) Hope the decorating and appointments went wellRuths advise for London was excellent, we will certainly be going back xxx
Murie you were so right! it took me days to come down. I was high as a kite ha. You make me chuckle. I think we must be related, each post makes me think, you are me hahaha. That's exactly how I started, before you know it you've got orders for cakes coming out of your ears!!! Be choosey is my advise. Each person that I told I'd stopped "doing" cakes replied with a comment like "but you'll still do ones for me won't you?" Whey hang on "NO" I'm not doing them anymore!!! How did it go with the sandal in the end? bet you are your harshes critic too! xxx
Mandco really hoping that that migraine shifted! they are horrible things and so dibilatating:( how are the plans going, it's FEBRUARY yikes xxx

Nicki I'm undecided what to do about Easter eggs, no surprise there! I was going to do sweet bouquets but when the eggs are on offer it's not really worth the effort costing wise is it X
Kellyhghs sounds like a lovely present! as ever the lovelies have already given sound advice:) When I culled my card making stash a few months ago I hung onto the things I thought I could scrap book with and have given myself six months to get myself in gear and blinking hek one month has flown by. I need a pusssshhhhh xxx
Peppa you are so right about wilkinsonsit used to be my fave (well along with lakeland) but I reckon it's spreading itself a bit thin now. Hope it doesn't follow woollies. Doesn't Caitlyn have the most beautiful way with words xxx
Baby boo oh you poor things. What an awful shock for you. Poor DH I hope he's not suffering to much pain and that he is very soon on the mend. I don't even want to ask how the interview went in case that more bad news. Oh you poor things, I really hope that's the end of the bad luck and that things are now on the up for you both xxx

Yay, think I'm all caught up now. Wow what a week that wasIt's been a really great week for us. Fun packed (DH is still exhausted but in a good way I hope) I came home from London as if I'd been away a month, inspired and found my GUAG. The change really was as good as a rest (for me not DH bless him) Had DGD2 for a sleepover and trip to the seaside which rounded off a great week. Had catch ups and coffee with my wonderful neighbours and BFF, I can certainly recommend to all. Night night, who knows what fun this new week will bring. May we all share lots of Mrs M Moments xxx

Thanks JJ x T currently has a developmental age of 15 months (he's almost 30 months). I don't think we'll send him come September but we have put in an inquiry with a SEN unit just in case x
My dd was diagnosed with Dyspraxia at 12 yrs old she was put at a developmental age of 4 yrs 7 months:eek: this although a huge shock at the time was also a blessing in disguise as it explained a lot and we adjusted what we were doing and how we were doing it to fit in with her.
Its not always easy we get it wrong and all hell breaks out but she is almost 17 now and a lovely caring young lady. She has uncontrolled epilepsy and after the dyspraxia was diagnosed with asd.
Things will get easier [eventually] with the right support T can and will flourish ,unfortunately in our case Rotherham schools are severely lacking in support !This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
morning all
JJ best moment of today i think will be reading that you are back home. i know you still have a long way to go but so glad the first step is taken and you are safely back home, i hope the path to recovery is full of lots of little steps all in the right direction.
OMO i love your quotes they really do brighten up everyones day and give the thread a nice highlight
B_E_G i hope your birthday was a good one and your got treated very well.
had a busy weekend playing catch up with the EU laundry mountain which is pretty much now all dry so has been renamed mount ironmore.
today in honour of that rare promise of early sushine and a dry day ive rather rashly washed DH ju jitsu Gi (really heavy weight cotton jacket) its out on the line now so any rain in the east mids today will be my fault im afraid. frisday night was lovely it was DHs cousins 80th birthday so we went over and met lots of family from that branch such a lovely evening and so many nice rellies it was lovely meeting them all
i hope everyone had a great weekend
im loving reading the plans for your world special days celebrations caitlin and freespirit. that is such a brill idea to do that.
better go and put the kettle on, im currently on hold to the drs trying to change an appt from today to later in the week.
edit finally through and appt rebooked.
this week is success builder at my DS2s school every child in the whole school has an appt with their learning advisor where they set targets for the term and discuss how well they did with prevoius terms targets etc. Nanamia (and anyone else that wants one) my MrsM moment for you today is think about something you are good at and give yourself a pat on the back for that. it can be anything from making a great spongecake to what you do in the paid world but be proud of what you can do, then think of someone you love and what you admire about them Have you told them if not why? it doesnt have to be corny but find a way to let them know that you think they are special.
at christmas i told a total stranger she looked lovely and her dress really suited her, she looked so surprised and pleased. little comments really can make all the difference - whether its a nasty one that cuts to the quick or a kind word that can make the difference to someones day. make yours a nice one.
anyway kettles clicked so im away for a cuppa then have stuff to catch up on (a huge bag of odd socks that need pairing)
'see' you laterSPC~12 ot 124

Thank you for all your birthday wishes. Had a lovely day doing absolutely sweet nothing.
We went out for a meal with DH, DS and DS's GF on friday which was lovely. Got some fab pressies - money (never comes in wrong), hair voucher, coffee shop voucher, necklace to match earrings I got for xmas, slippers, toiletries, scarf, purse, choccies and a couple of lots of flowers. :j
Received one lot of flowers via Interflora on Friday and we noticed by Sat afternoon that they were starting to wilt. So DH phoned Interflora this morning and they are going to be replaced tomorrow. They will have cost a bl**dy fortune and I bet the other supermaket ones I received will outlive theirs by a mile. I hate people being ripped off. Rant over
Hugs to all the people who are having a tough time with little ones. Hopefully help and support is out there so don't be afraid to ask for it and of course we are always here if you ever need to sound off. x
TV man has just been out - our aerial blew down on Sat night and has been banging off the side of the house since then. Pleased to say that its all up and running and to be honest I was expecting more than £30 as you dont seem to get much for your money these days.
Oh well stay warm and safe. My heart goes out to the people who are suffering with the flooding.

Had a lovely day yesterday - spoilt rottenWe had a lovely Chinese (bit late for New Year but never mind) courtesy of Mr. S's. They had a great deal on 4 mains and 2 sides for a tenner.
Will give our Mrs. M Moment some thought later when I get a few quiet minutes.
Plans for the week - hopefully gloss in bedroom is getting done today, dentist in the morning (prep work for having crown fitted ), wed morning visiting friend and collecting new carpet pm. Thursday might go out for lunch with DH as we have a Groupon voucher for a couple of posh burgers and it is about to expire and we cannot waste that. Friday shopping and Saturday Ikea delivery is due (fingers crossed).
Stay safe and warm everyone

Hi all,
Firstly, hugs to all that need them (I can't remember all the names and I don't want to appear to miss anyone out)
Nanamia, I love the kilner idea jar. I may do 40 memories of our friendship to make us giggle...there have been many!
Mum is all set up with her "old biddy" phone as it is affectionately called. Set up the emergency button, just hope she doesn't catch it by accident and give us all a scare. Sis reckons mum'll press it for a laugh just to see who responds first or we'll all respond at the same time and get the engaged tone:rotfl:
Have bought the chocoholic since 1974 bag and some body shop choccy goodies for other friend soon to be 40.0 -
Thanks for all the scrap booking advice, ordered a couple bits on half cost as free delivery over £5 at min, and gonna pop to home bargains and b&m tomorrow for a look there:)
I'm not sure if someone has mentioned it before, but I find the Crafty Crocodiles website really good for cheap crafty bits, particularly when they have a sale on. Hope you had a successful shopping spree
I had a busy weekend with no opportunity to catch up, so I'll take the chance now to say welcome back JJ and happy birthday BEG!
We all got up early yesterday to go and see the Severn bore, which should have been good as it's a high tide at this part of the year, and what with all the rainfall as well it should have been spectacular, and it was ok but not really worth getting up for at 7.30 on a Sunday morning! :eek:0 -
Bless you Chrissy for such a supportive post for Sequeena after the year your DD had last year, when you mention her now I picture her sat with her headphones on giggling at YouTube. This thread really never ceases to amaze me, in such a wonderful way xxx
b_e_g I'm glad you had such a good birthday, you deserved it. Your week sounds busy but fun (well except for the dentist obviously) yikes:( Everybody has whipped on with their bedrooms and mine still isn't started. It was measured up again yesterday for built in wardrobes and darling neighbour (he's fitting them) is ringing around today with queries- apparently. I need a time frame now I think and I can give the decluttering one last shove! xxx
his missus I'm glad you like the jar idea! I think I had as much fun trying to think of the particular incidents (then narrow them down to 50) as BFF did reading them. Happy memories we've shared. I giggled thinking of your Mum and her old biddy phone then thought I'd blooming bash my DS or DD if they 'lovingly' called me that haha. They will be warnedxxx
Mrs M Thank you for the Mrs M Moment I'm pondering, I will be back later with how I used it. You do make me smile xxx
Athien I'm going to google the Severn bore so I know what it isYou are right tho, it'd have to be pretty spectacular to get me up and out for 7.30 am
I've used crafty crocodile successful to, (in the past I promise not since my "cull") xxx
Festive Princess I know you'll have lots to catch up with in RL and your Mum will be spoiling you rotten but I do worry when you go quiet:( it's not like you xxx
Mrs M I'm pondering still xxxThe secret of Christmas
It's not the things you do at Christmastime
But the Christmas things you do
