Sequeena.. there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
At 7 a diagnosis of severe dyspraxia and dyslexia and growth hormone deficiency. At 18 months and 3 ,2 surgical procedures on manbits. At various intervals throughout childhood showed hearing loss varying between 'marked' and 'significant'. At 6 MRI showed significant brain damage. At 5 dx of severe hypermobility. SALT for 3.5 years from age 3.5. The dyspraxia was eventually linked to brain damage and while it presents as dyspraxia is some other long winded condition I can't even remember! There is also a social development delay and a physical development delay.. the physical aspect isn't too bad tbh but the social one caused more issues.
This child is now 18 and has just been asked to enrol on the art degree.. he can't even draw!!! There is something out there for everyone! Trust in him, guide him and push him to explore every avenue.. all he needs is your love and support and encouragement the rest will come in its own time.
There have been times I have been terrified and wanted to hold him back so I don't see him fail.. but then I realised, we all fail at times and by trying to protect him from these failures I was failing as a parent. So we took a step back and caught him as he fell, rebuilt his confidence and moved to the next challenge.
I think Thomas proved his fighting spirit by simply being here in the first place.. he can do whatever he sets his mind to so long as you help him spread his wings.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

JJ well hello, lovely to see you up and at em, good luck with ou, and hope you stay out of 'their' clutches from now!
Sequeena, JJ is right, the future is unmappable, and there is no telling what T will do. Keep going, you will get there, love and hugs to you.
Nanamia, rainbow drops, aww not seen them for years.
OMO Your family tree research sounds fascinating, hope it rewards you with nice surprises, what a lovely thing for FM when he is older.
I still haven't had word from the insurance company re the money for the greenhouse, but no matter, what will be will be.
Friend came over last night to tell me that one of our neighbours had died suddenly this week, such a shame, his poor wife is obviously in bits, can't speak to the undertaker, won't get out of bed, awful, for her, and her son who lives away.
I'm going out for Sunday lunch with the Grandma sister today, so off to iron the creases out of the face and comb the ravelled bits of head, love and hugs. xx0 -
JJ Happy to hear that you are now out of hospital & looking forward to the future. What do you fancy studying with the OU?A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining inPS Our next celebration is tomorrow - Groundhog Day! An american-style roast dinner, with the Bill Murray film! No presents this time. I've tried for two events a month - here's the list...it gets VERY random! I'm loving researching the recipes and planning what to make.
I like to do this too, lots of happy memories throughout the year
For some other 'special' days check out this list..............

I also buy pin badges for different days of the year. I wear them on my ID lanyard for work (not all at the same time!).
Enjoy your weekend.

JJ - welcome home, been thinking of you. As someone who has a phobia about being sick I'm in awe of how you cope with that let alone everything else.
Sequeena - can I just agree with what Caitlyn has said because I couldn't possibly say it any better. Sending you positive vibes to help support you. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0
