  • Morning, head is full of cotton wool, and my nose is incontinent, when I talk I sound like a sea lion barking for fish! Manflu? you betcha.
Plodding along what a rotten thing to happen, those people who did not reply should hang their heads in shame. Thanks for all the congratulations for DS1.
My friend (beauty therapist) had her car stolen on Saturday evening, and when we went to recover it, the thieves had removed th battery and burned out the clutch. She needs it for work, so they have deprived her of the means to buy another! She is having a run of rotten luck at the moment, hope it improves. In the short term, at least, I can taxi her about, but it isn't a long term solution.
Fave cous is coming for lunch today, she has her first mammogram on Wednesday, so I will go with her, and then have a treat day.
Off to make soup, and soda bread for lunch, be good, all xxx

Just dropping in to document that DH has been given a pair of girls slippers from a work collegue. His daughter got 2 pairs for Christmas so they're in the boot ready for my eldest next year.

Need to source under bed storage for accumulated gifts!

Beginning to think of a valentine gift for DH. Something that's useful but with a comical effect - thinking a flat cap seeing as he's pushing 40 and balding! Secretly I think he'd like it and will appreciate the comedy value but depends on how expensive they are really.

    Afternoon.

Hugs His misses, each first without someone you love is so hard, don't be afraid to cry and get it out. I,spent too much time trying to show everyone i was strong when mum passed. Then I dropped and broke a plate I had as a child, and that was me, cried for days. Take care of yourself x

Today is housework day. I was doing well until I sat down with a cuppa and came on here. Not I can't motivate myself to get back up lol.

I know what you mean about friends Plodding along, I have one friend that treats me rotten and is so moody and huffy. She is lovely when she want something, but not so nice when the tables are turned and I need her.
She is ignoring me again this week, and bringing down everything I say to her. She's very defensive. I wish I didn't care, but it hurts. I can't avoid her as my daughter dances with her daughter x

Freespirit well sis from another mister! keep missing you this week. Did you bake today? I was very tempted but behaved myself and did a little cleaning, but don't worry, I'm not poorly and it will not be repeated for some time hehe. Just took advantage whilst DH and lovely neighbour had a little mooch around the local fishing shops :) Roll on the fishing when I can get a little bit of peace xxx

I didnt do it yesterday, i was in a lot of pain with my back (well in fact back, arms, fingers, neck) god i need to be put down :D but i have today a Sausagemeat Plait and Sausagemeat Danish Pastries, the theme this week was meat. I have finally mopped  today seen as it has been dry so far, glad DH is out and about, send my love to JJ, i think you are right about DS that is 3 days working on my bucket list perhaps he knows something i dont :p

I'm doing ok. It would have been dad's birthday today, think once today is out of the way, I can start looking forward with a more positive attitude. I did a lot of grieving before dad died and I think I'm almost through the crying phase :)

HISMISSUS sending you love and hugs, the firsts are always the worst but even more so, being so close to his funeral x

Freespirit- I think Mom has always looked younger than her years. As far as the cake is concerned- yes the cake itself is ok but I wasn't happy about the carousel. I made the canopy and horses etc in icing using a chocolate mould which didn't give such a clean cut moulding so was difficult to work with. I wanted it to be perfect for Mom so got annoyed with myself that it didn't look as good as it should. (Bit of cake OCD crept in and I couldn't leave it alone I'm afraid! Nearly put the thing in the bin several times I can tell you!!)

The thing is MURIE the imperfections we see when we make things, arent noticed by other people, i learnt that a long time ago, and i am sure it was perfect to your mum all the same. Ooooh i cant see the new photo just the one of your mum and the lovely dogs

MRSMONEYPENNY i love that stocking it is gorgeous, and so much hard work gone into it

MRSINVISIBLE oh no your poor friend that is all she needs, why is it when we are having a tough time its just one thing after another  Hope you feel better soon

Sundays challenges, i didnt get them finished yesterday but have completed them today :)

Taking care of our wellbeing is something we can all do. It only takes a little change to make a big difference to ourselves and those around us. But good emotional health can slide into serious and enduring mental health conditions if we ignore our wellbeing and forget to take care of ourselves

    1. Complete the daily sudoku challenge
    2. Complete a daily record sheet
    3. Bake for the Sunday Bake Club
    4. The weekly weigh in

    Todays

BE ACTIVE go for a walk or run. Step outside - nature is good for us. Being in green open spaces increases our sense of wellbeing and relaxation. Cycle to the shops, play a game, get muddy in the garden, dance. If you find it hard on your own, talk to a friend, family member or work-mate - help motivate each other. Go to your local library and see what activities are on offer in your area or go on the internet. Dont forget to eat well, nutrition is a key part of keeping active and keeping mentally and physically healthy. It doesnt have to be boring or expensive, lots of fresh produce and omega-3 rich foods. Exercising makes you feel good and joining others helps you to feel connected. Most importantly, discover a physical activity you enjoy and that suits your mobility and fitness.

    1. Complete the daily Sudoku challenge
    2. Walk route 1 (400 metres)
    3. Work on your bucket list (www.bucketlist.org)
    4. Sort/Purge through your old photos
