Feisty I know exactly how DH is feeling. There is a knack to broaching the subject. I know he's fiercely against it at the moment. He's probably not wanted to face it himself. Let him ponder a while and see if he revisits the subject, maybe as a short term measure (even tho you know different) etc etc. You know how it works, let them think it's their decision/idea etc
In a week when the tax man has been knocking it'd be good to know some of it was going to good use. Gently does it. I don't need to tell you but take care to boost his self esteem at every opportunity (blooming hard work at times) but worth it

ive got an opticians app for this Thursday after work, i want just a cheap pair but as they are varifocals the lens push the price up.
I made a bit of a boob , the Catherine Tate dvds came but in dd's name so she opened them, somehow my amazon order defaulted to her details ! She had a bank card set up on my acc but just before christmas i set her own acc up but must not have removed her name from my acc !This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Chrissy, have you looked online at the cheap glasses shops? My mum gets her varifocals for about a third of the price that the high street shops wanted. I got the link from the MSE main site - might be worth having a look?0 -

hope everyone is well on the frosty crisp morning
debndot fantastc news about the win and it does appear a change to good fortune is heading your way. long may it continue
fluffysox sorry but had to smile at you getting your bum bitten
JJ sending speedy recovery vibes to you
Feisty sending hugs and good wishes in yours and your DH direction, things cant be easy and well meaning but tactless friends dont really help at times like that. However nanamia is offering brilliant sensible advice
PloddingAlong anti sickness and non spreading lurks that go away soon vibes heading your way.
CHRISSYG sorry your amazon order got misnamed when delivered and the surprise spoilt
freespirit66 i hope your back IS feeling better soon and im sure nic does as well;):rotfl: im terrible for that. on a different forum years ago someone had posted that someone had accused them of entering comps to win anything and everything regardless of whether they genuinely wanted the prize, shed just won a trip to gracelands to mark an anniversary of one of Elvis' birthdays i thought i sent her a lovely PM supporting her till i got a reply saying well i know youre a fan of his but im sorry you feel that way. i reread my pm and id put we all know your the kind i of person who wants to win everything:eek: id missed the word NOT out:o
i really try and double read and spell check everything now. luckily she accepted my grovelling apology and she she thought it was a bit out of character for me.
she must have forgiven me cos i sent her a silk rose and she managed to get her DH to distract the guards at his grave and put the flower on for me and photo it, there were signs saying family flowers only others were supposed to be left in a different area.Mrs M your leaflet still sounds pretty clever to meand what's even better is the gesture of help. You are a sweetie
I absolutely adore the stocking, your friend is so very, very lucky. Just one thing please post larger pictures haha (some of us are getting on a bit!) xxx
if i get a lotto win big enough to give up work and just stay home stitching ill put you all on my 'too stitch for list';)
hope you all have a lovely day and manage to stay warm and preferably inside.
perfect day for me would be getting my cross stitch out and a cup of coffee but ive got cleaning and work to do (better get my thermals and boots out plagrounds arent that wamr unless youre one of the ones running about playing tic or footie)SPC~12 ot 124

11months and 4 days!! ... I will NEVER be sorted in time!!!
Need to order a couple of books for OH for V-day.. and a present for nursery Olivers birthday (4) and GS1 (5) and OH needs to sort his dads birthday this week.. they are visiting on Friday. and DS3 (15) on 4th March.. that should cover everything until June.
Would it be silly to buy a large pack of story books for random nursery birthdays??
Am I allowed to get huffety that OH's dad buys for him and the 3 girls and leaves me out? OH spends quite a lot on him and his partner individually and/or jointly .. I'm not upset just a bit huffy.

Nanamia - thanks for the update re junior j. Can you pass on my best wishes xx
Murie - You have a very lucky Mum - the cake is gorgeous.
Plodding along - sorry to hear about your roundabout nightmare. It is times like that when you realise who your true friends are. It's been quite a major ongoing thing that I haven't posted on here but I "lost" a best friend last year as she treated me like sh@t over a number of years and things came to a head and then I had all the hospital stuff and I decided life's too short to have selfish uncaring poisonous people within it and around me. We have a lot of mutual friends and it is awkward and would be easy to give in, but I think once you take off your rose tinted glasses and see how you have been treated (or not helped and ignored when you need it), it's hard to put them back on again. Hope you son feels better xx
Nic2075 - based on above - maybe you need to say enough is enough and distance yourself from the friend.
Free spirit65 - still loving the tasks. I am drooling at the thought of sausagemeat plait.
Hismissus and blue eyed girl - still thinking of you both xxx
Mrsinvisible - hope you feel better soon. I am at home looking after DS today who has manflu (or 10 year old boy flu in his case). Sorry to hear about your friend and the stolen car.
Mandco - glad pre school went well.
Mrsmoneypenny - that stocking is lovely, you are very talented.
Reen73 - 50p decs from John Lewis. So jealous.
Spring dreams/plodding along - just noticed your sigs - I am defo playing catchup re the decluttering. Any tips?
FeistyFidget - hope things improve for you and your DH. Don't be pushed/swayed into rash decisions by others.
Debndot - I am so pleased for you. Free dosh and a comp win - that's amazing and well deserved. Congrats.
Fluffysox - I vote "I was pretending to be a sausage butty" for quote of the week. Pmsl.
I decided I am going to "declutter" some weight. I am a right fussy mare about what I will and won't eat so not doing SW or WW, I am just going to go my own way.
Pigpen- I seem to remember on the grabbit thread somewhere there was a big pack of Disney books on offer at argos which would be something you could split.Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -
Just popping in really quickly before my busy day. Only getting round to sending the corset back today, Nanamia. Have measured loads of times and I'm going to try one 4 sizes smaller (8") but I hope that's not too drastic. It's costing me nearly £5 to send it back!
I'm pretty sure I've also read Meet Me Under The Mistletoe. I really should get back my cross stitch and stop reading so much. I've got soooo many kits to stitch.
Speaking of bucket lists, I have one. Well, I call it my dream list as I wasn't so keen on the 'bucket' idea. I have a notebook and each page is something I want to do, then when I've done it, I write a page about it. Someday I will also do a scrapbook page with photos for each thing too. I've sort of made a start on it, but done very little. Some of the ideas were for things I've already done-eat fish & chips at the seaside, build an igloo, ride on a cable car in San Francisco-but others are for the future. It doesn't have to be major expensive things like travel the world, go skydiving etc. It gives you something to focus on when you have a free weekend too.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
