Wow amazing cake!!! Your mum looks (understandably) delighted. Now DS and I made Scooby doo fairy cakes today, from a packet but he likes mixing the ingredients and putting the little "stickers" on top on the icing. I was quite proud of our achievement but now.... Only joking ;-) But seriously you are a talented lady!
thanks for letting us know nanamia, sending good wishes to JJ and hope she is on the mend very soon

cos its the christmas chatter thread ill show the stocking now its almost finished, i just have to sew the back on.

Plodding along, glad you were all ok,
Mrs moneypenny, wow your very talented, could you make us all one please :-)
JJ, I hope your better and home soon, I'm sure your putting a smile on the nurses faces.
For a change we seem to have a bit of luck coming our way this year, dh's nanny has given us £200 for no reason other than she wants to treat all her grandchildren, so that's the start of our house deposit (have worked out it will prob be about £1100)
And I got a phone call from my local shopping mall tonight to say I'd won a MacBook Pro. I've never won anything in my life never mind something worth £1200! :-)
    Wow! How exciting.

JJ if you're reading get well soon.
Nanamia, where does your husband go fishing? Mine likes seafishing but won't go on boats cos they make him seasick lol. Instead he likes finding precarious positions to perch himself with his huge rucksack often in the dark. He is notoriously unlucky, it invariably rains and he catches very little (often nothing) but he still loves it. :rotfl:

Had a couple of playdates past couple of days and took both boys to Church yesterday. DS1 has been so good, sharing, being careful around the babies- even being quiet in Church. Our baby boy is nearly three months and is good as gold. So I am a very lucky mummy :-)

Today I was playing with my 2yr old little boy, pretending I thought he was a sausage butty. Tickling him and pretending to eat his calf and his tummy. He was screaming with laughter then saying, "Its only me mummy". Anyway I was in the kitchen shortly after. (Bending over to get something out of the cupboard) and my cheeky monkey decided I was a sausage butty. First I knew about it was him biting my bottom! I didn't half jump. So funny.

    Xmas Saver!
j-j hope you get better soon. Sending hugs

    debndot well done you :j

We'll the car wouldn't start this morning. Flat battery. The RAC only took 35 minutes to get here, so I was only an hour late for work. Not as bad as it could have been.

Booked mine and dd's optician appointments for next week. We picked our frames today. I know we will both need new glasses. Mine are basic £25 ones, dd's are designer £125 ones. Which sounds worse than it is. Because her astigmatism is so bad we gets £89 towards her glasses. I pay an extra £10 to get her lenses made thinner. Even then one is deeper than the frames.
Ds has to go separately as all going together takes too long for him.

Am going to shampoo the lounge carpet tomorrow. I wonder what shade of brown it actually is ? :rotfl:

Heard from JJ aka Festive Princess our poor lovely is in hospital 20 miles from home :( Hoping to see both the neuropods and surgeons tomorrow. I have threatened that if they don't sort her pretty damn quick or refer her (to the big wigs in London) I will be round. Sending all our love to her of course and blooming sort it vibes to any drs concerned :) xxx

Ploddingalong flipping heck you must be shattered :( Hope your LO is better very quickly. Sending you smiles xxx
b_e_g sending coping vibes for the funeral. You care for so many I hope somebody is looking after you too xxx
his missus today must've been so hard my lovely, coming so soon after your Darling Dads passing. I think as others have said even when you are sadly preparing for the worst it takes time to actually sink in. We are always here if you ever feel like chatting, ranting, laughing or crying. We are blessed with so many wise members, somebody can always help xxx
Mrs M your leaflet still sounds pretty clever to me :) and what's even better is the gesture of help. You are a sweetie :) I absolutely adore the stocking, your friend is so very, very lucky. Just one thing please post larger pictures haha (some of us are getting on a bit!) xxx
Murie sadly my toddler is 54 and still showing no signs of growing out of the terrible twos I'm afraid. Trouble is I think I'm to blame cos I've been way too soft. Hey ho. I love the carousel I think it's my fav bit, Freespirit is so right (well let's face it she usually is) we are our own harshest critics. xxx
Fuddle woo hoo your off :) well done on aquiring the slippers. I use under bed storage in DGDs bedroom, it brilliant isn't it and hidden. I think Primarni had some flat cap type hats in, some places charge silly prices don't they, especially if there's a chance DH might not wear it X
Nic I'm sorry that blooming pesky woman is still causing problems. Argh very, very annoying xxx
Mandco it was DGD2s first full day today. Wow it's unnervingly quiet isn't it. She popped in on her way home though, full of beans. Time goes so very quickly xxx
Mrsinvisible snap with the nose incontinence :( I'm not poorly with it tho thankfully. Hope you are being kind to yourself and not overdoing things! I will be checking! What blooming bad look for your friend with the stolen car :( although she's very lucky to have you on her side :) And fav cous bless her, I will be 50 in July think that's the mammogram age is it? Could you pop over and hold my hand too? xxx
Spring Dreams Oooh thank you! I had already downloaded that one, so it'll be next on my reading list. It's great to get recommendations isn't it xxx
Freespirit OMG you aren't actually having to post your bucket list online are you? Goodness me. Although started that book Ruth recommended "Fireside Dreams" and the main character found her bucket list and she'd written "things to do before she was 30". So maybe I was being a little harsh on DS :) haha.
Did the scales smile at you this morning, mine were kind 3lb off. Blooming good job too as I don't know where last weeks gain came from! Are you following a plan? Have you looked at SW ? Cos you aren't ever hungry on that one. I don't go just loosely do it myself. Let me know if you fancy trying it xxx
Linky and 3fortheholidays love the quotes. Most apt, thank you xxx
