Right.. Christmas shopping for next year underway.. and I spent my gift voucher on myself.. and a bit..
.. Joe Browns, Boots, Cath Kidston, Next, BHS, House of Fraser, Disney Store and Lakeland done.. I am now skint..
I have my sons 18th on the 15th Jan and they are 1, 3, 4, 10, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20 and 23 next year.. and the grand beasts are 2, 2 and 5.. and my niece is 5 and my nephew 1..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
If you are near a Range, they are brillaint for art supplies, they have packs of glass paints, paintbrush, 4 paints, and out line stuff... very cheap for whats in them, and the paints last AGES. I bought mine umm about 7 years ago had to replace the outline stuff and I mix all my paintbrushes up, but LOADS of paint left
. The also do ceramic packs, same stuff but ceramic version. They are the Vitera ones you paint it on then put them in the oven to set it, it's supposed to be dishwasher proof after, not tried it myself but a friend did accidentall put hers through the once... an d it survived... \/ after it's wash \/
I've just been out shopping got a ted baker set from boots for my aunt either birthday or next Christmas, and what is either for next Christmas, or a late gift this Christmas for a friend. Some years he buys presents other years he doesn'tso will see if he brings me anything
. Everything else I'm waiting see if they still have when the 75% off starts mainly my hair stuff, it's not such a good offer as last year... last year it was shampoo, conditioner, mousse, and hair spray in a wash bag with giant curlers and 2 clips. I actually bought it for the curlers at the time but the hair spray has turned out to be the most amazing hair spray ever! but...it's over £6 a can on its own
! The case this year is just shampoo, conditioner, mousse, and hair spray, none of the extra bits and it's the same price, so I will wait or boots points just for hair spray.
And I got some Quizzed up playing cards, they are like a usual set of playing cards but the have a question in the middle of each card thought they might be a bit of fun not sure if I'm opening them now or keeping them for the table next Christmas... theres only so long a mini bowling set from a cracker amuses people lol
Didn't find any gift wrap ribbon I likednearly bought a roll of wrapping paper in m&s but it was £1.75 for 4m... and just brown paper with a nordic type design in white, wilko paper was as nice and much cheaper before Christmas even! I end up buying more every year anyway because I love wrapping paper!!! lol.
Ooh and also went to waitrose, got some of the heston Christmas stuff for my dinner tonight, some veg things, and some fancy stuffing with cherries in it... stuffing is my favourite thing, and cherries are my favourite fruit, I am so excited!!
I'm useless though I talk myself out of spending money, I pick something up carry it around a bit then put it back! I really want a onesie found one in New look, kind of boring just blue with a bit of lace on the shoulders but it was nice and soft, but still I talked myself out of it, and some shoes, and I really kind of needed shoes I only brought walking boots and some hole ridden summer shoes I use for driving back to the house I'm looking after with me oops! Only here till Sunday now though, so I'll survive...
(haha sorry I was rambling I've not talked to anyone today lol )

Hello to any newbies :santa2:
springdreams - that TV is a bargain.
marco1dog - sorry to hear about the fish
wuvvies - although it was understandably very emotional, it was great that your DD stayed and had xmas dinner with you.
Hi Freespirit66 :santa2: Being a bit nosey here but whats the mums challenge in your sig. Not updated my sig for 2014 yet and that looks interesting.
Pixtotts - That glass looks stunning
xxAims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -
Been at work today. The office was very quiet today but a great day to catch up on all the small jobs that you don't get time to do!
I still have one roll of Christmas wrapping paper unopened and some Christmas cards left over so I will keep these for Christmas 2014.
I have some vouchers/money to spend that I have been given for my birthday and Christmas - don't know whether to brave the sales as I don't want to hold on to the vouchers too long.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Hello everyone.
I'm another lurker de-lurking!
I love Christmas and had a fab one this year. I really took the time to search around for the best price for what presents I wanted to buy and want to do even better for 2014.
I started working for a big supermarket chain this year so yesterday and today stocked up on smellies for every Birthday and Christmas present for next year. The whole lot would have cost £90 and I got it for £30! Feeling very pleased with myself. Now just waiting for the wrapping paper to go down a bit more and that will be another thing crossed off my list.
Hopefully this thread will give me the motivation to keep going.

Thought I'd brave Milton Keynes shopping centre today and it was heaving. I got the perfume set and the diary I went in for though plus a jumper but cba to queue at Pandora to spend my gift voucher - will leave that until things have calmed down a bit and people are all back at work.
Going to spend this evening transferring key dates into new diary and filling in my list of who we sent cards to this year and who we got them from. Also need to update my pressie list as got some last minute things for people that I didn't add on. I find it so useful to keep the final list - the number of times I've gone to buy someone the same thing two years running is surprising and my list stops me doing it.
Welcome all newbies and de-lurkers
Wuvvies - so glad things went well for you with DD, it must have been horrible to take her back but at least you have a connection with her again now.
Marco - sorry to hear about the fish, hope you find the culprit and manage to put a stop to it.
Pixtotts - the glass is lovely, understated but very effective. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Wuvvies so glad your DD was home for Christmas, nothing beats having your mum when you're feeling unwell.

Wow how lovely! And only 8 months old- goodness me. My DS sat up unaided for the first time on his first Christmas, and he was 7 months then.
Well our Christmas started well, DS enjoyed getting food and drinks ready for Father Christmas and Rudolph. I mixed oats with some glitter to make magic reindeer food (we had no carrots) and he loved stirring it up, so it would be just right! Would you believe he spent 20 minutes stirring it :rotfl:
He was in bed by 8pm and DH was recruited to get us drinks and put Christmas music on while I finished wrapping. (baby crying brb)

OMO thanks for the new thread
hope everyone enjoyed the festivities
spent more time together in one room in the last 3 days then we probably normally do in a month  amazingly very few arguments and some great family fun with lots of laughter which is what its really all about
popped out briefly today as was getting a little bit of cabin fever didn't really need anything and was very good as spent very little brought some new jeans & a couple of little gift set @ £2 for dd friends birthdays stash. have been avoiding the sales as don't need anything at the moment and want to try for a cash free xmas next yr so gonna spend as little as possible for now until I build up some credit.
don't actually need any wrap or cards for next yr so that's a start.
welcome to all the newbies

Its my christmas present off DS he has done a folder full up of challenges, such as going out on my own, go walking, write personal goals etc all to help with my depression and anxiety and get me back to feeling confident and happy, i get rewards for each days challenge i complete over each month, plus i have presents to open on certain days to help with that days challenge, he has put so much thought and effort and god knows how much money plus it is ongoing throughout the year i would hate to think what it finally adds up to, it is so sweet.Dunkeydory wrote: »Hello everyone.
