Anyway Christmas eve I was sat wrapping the boys gifts. We had a few visitors drop by dropping off bags of gifts (customary in DH's family) and I had bags for them ready. All finished at 11:25pm. Sat back to enjoy a glass of mulled wine. 11:30pm DS1 was heard screaming. Poor mite had been sick over himself, his bed, the floor.... and he continued to throw up til about 6:30. He would fall asleep then wake as he vomited- no warning so we took turns lying with him. Very tired household Christmas morning. And loads of washing over the past few days. He opened stocking and presents from Father Christmas. Then he wanted to play with his new boats in the bath, so we all had baths- then he fell asleep on the couch for a couple of hours. Woke up much brighter and we enjoyed the rest of our day. So many gifts, we were still opening them last night. DH bought me the Babyliss Perfect Curl. Its fab but my attempts to do it on my own resulted in me nearly pulling my hair out. So while DS was asleep, my DH used my new snazzy gadget to curl my hair. And the curls lasted (getting looser of course) until I washed my hair this eve.
The snowglobes with pics of the boys were a big hit. My plan for next year is a photo calendar. I intend to choose a picture every month so its easy in December.
On Christmas morning DS was thrilled to have a new dressing gown with Bob:rotfl: the Builder on. It was a handmedown (still new with tags tho) and a bit big so I was saving it but he was sick on his other one so I got it out. Anyway "Wow, wow, wow, thank you Mummy" bless him
Anyway we're all full of cold now so I had a lovely pj day playing with my little ones while DH was at work. Really enjoyed it tbh, will have to do it more often.

Omo thank you for the new thread, lovely pic of Robbie, could you add me to November birthdays list please, the 27th.

  • Good evening all,

I went to Dunelm this morning and bought a Mickey Mouse biscuit tin reduced to £2 and sets of three nesting cake tins for £2.50. I am determined to give more handmade gifts next year. I love receiving homemade gifts but always worry that people will think I'm mean if I give something I've made rather than bought. I generally end up giving something I've made as an add-on, as though it has no value, but I need to start costing my time and effort rather than just material costs.

I had planned to sort out my unused present stash this afternoon and start next year's list but opted to finish my Wasgij and eat chocolate instead...well, there's always tomorrow!

Thank you to all who contribute to this thread - I really enjoy reading it.

Thanks mandco, freespirit and pigpen. Funnily enough the last time DS was sick it was the early hours of my birthday :-P He still had a good day, lots of family making a fuss of him, and opened presents gradually over two days. SIL told me she'd rushed her son (7) to open everything before they headed to family for Christmas dinner. That's not my way, if anything I encourage DS to enjoy one gift at a time, even if it takes more than a day. He is much better and ate a bit today after refusing food previous 2 days.
Now I just have to figure out where to put all the new toys. A clearout is needed asap :-P

.. when she thought she had finished and the 2 y/o was still slowly unwrapping. We found a couple more unopened in her bag but how sad does she look?

fluffysox your poor little man, glad he still enjoyed his day though.
pigpen what a cute face, bet it was hard not to laugh at that one she's so sweet.
i've done really well in the boots sale this year, went to a small one out of the city yesterday and managed to get some Thomas toys at half price, which when i looked on the website weren't even included in the sale so quite chuffed. B and q had 75% off their last bits so got some rope lights for outside next year, dh is going to shoot me if i don't stop shopping soon i think :-) need to start wrapping and putting away now, hope everyone is getting bargains and enjoying the remains of the festive season x
