Found you all
Sorry I've been MIA, but you may remember I was feeling a bit under the weather Christmas Eve? Well it developed into full blown lurgy, I had to leave Christmas at the in law by 8pm as I could barely function. We then had 3 separate family gatherings Boxing Day that I had to cancel as was feeling so direI'm slowly improving
I will be done for Christmas by the end of November, as refuse to be stressed and ill for the third year running![/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Hello all, found you again
I'm going to try and be more organised this coming year. Finances got too tight, and some gifts didn't arrive until the 23rd! Then I didn't finish wrapping until nearly 3pm on the 25th. Thankfully it was family gifts and I got them done in time before we went visiting. I also won't be buying anything that requires refrigerating again, wrapping Ex's gift from DD as he is on his way to pick her up was more than a little stressful when the wrapping paper was a very tight fit
I'm going to get my planner out and update it with info from this years celebrations, start my next spreadsheet, and hopefully I can be less stressed next December :rotfl:
As for planning through the year, Ex is getting married in February and DD wants to buy them something so I'll have to look into that. I have my DDs 13th birthday in April, along with my nephew (1) and niece (6) as well. Then apart from cards I don't think I have anything else to think of except ChristmasCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
aww that photo is sooo sweet.. i haven't put my photos on my laptop off my camera yet.. should get around to that ( i got a few new lenses for my camera and 6 new filters so will be playing lots!)
Feisty sorry to hear you got the lurgy over xmas! what a brilliant idea though about being ready by the end of november.. i might join you in that one including having everything bloomin wrapped! spent a week doing that this year and with recovering with my back again wasn't fun. So this year once ive done the sales properly (can't until kids and dh is back at work properly) i shall wrap that lot i think! (thats if i can get some wrapping paper) then do it bit by bit hopefully.Totally debt free wohooo 2014

I'm in too! I won't be able to post as regularly as you all but I promise I read every day & I wouldn't have managed such a smoothly run Christmas as the one we've just had without you all.
Lovely to read about how all your days went. Sorry to hear about the lurgy bugs that have been lurking. It's my turn today. Grumbly stomach all night & don't know whether it is actually a bug or too much indulgence
I was spoilt with a new phone that you can download apps on... is there any apps that any of you would recommend to help me remain organised?
I did a bit of shopping Boxing day at D*TC*MGIFTSHP.. a few new decorations ect, am thinking the more serious discounts will happen after the new year but because I was so organised, I have pennies left over from December pay to shop
!
Things I am hoping to do differently is, be finished, everything brought, wrapped or made by the end of November. I was still wrapping a few bits & making table settings (pots of gold) late into Christmas evening.
So, once again, I really appreciate these Christmas threads. Thank you :T
Oh & my tree is down! I just needed to freshen the downstairs up a bit. I still have the lights in the window, ornaments & china about ... these will come down in the new year but if I can recall, I did the same last year too. So, next year I'll just put it up a week earlier so I feel it's had it's monies worth.
Enjoy your New Year... I am working but wishing you all a Happy & Healthy one X

Oooo I forgot to mention I have a few pressies ready for re-gifting, and we plan to cut the budget down to either £5 or £10 per person, as it is just getting too expensive and makes me feel grinchy

Sorry haven't read back. I hope everyone is OK.
I really must get my !!!! in gear. Bar walking the dog I haven't left the house in days.
Am looking for advice
Do any of you lovelies have any experience of ELC HappyLand ?
I have just ordered FM the funfair from ELC. It is £20 down from £60, and I was thinking about getting more bits through the year. ( Am hoping some of it goes in the sales).
But is it worth it ? It's sooo expensive. I'm looking at boy bits obviously. The Pirate ship, Police Station etc plus cars. I was also going to get the box that becomes a play mat.
Ds had no imagination so I have no idea what boys play with.0 -

My son loved the happyland and theres always loads and loads on ebay the imaginatext range by fisher price is quite similar but once the littlies get used to the basics like police station fire station pirate ship in this range they can use those bits with the batman and superhero sets etc without replacing everything could be worth a look at as theres not a huge difference xPAYDXMAS2014-:santa2:#6-£200/£3587.35=5.57%
