I currently live in a little village in Shropshire. Tiny little castle, village green, duck pond, post office, pubs, ofsted excellent school, good A roads and commuting. Big cities only an hour away. Gorgeous spacious solid and warm 2 bed cottage, facing open fields. A totally beautiful location to brilliant place to bring up a family. I have a well paid job thatI love a 20 min drive away.

And as soon as the decorator has finished this house is going on the market and I'm taking a significant pay cut to move back to Wigan in the north west. Downtrodden home of terraced houses, clogs, pies and whippets. Why? Because that's my hometown and that's where everyone I love lives. Because I've finally realised that what other people are impressed with isn't important. Me being happy and being surrounded by friends and family is what matters to me. Job status and money in the bank is useless if you're lonely. I am kicking myself that I have spent so many years doing the career thing trying to impress (mostly) my parents and wasting my life. I cannot wait to move home!!

West Cornwall where I live now, beautiful beaches, good walking on the coastal paths with fantastic views and villages, mild weather and the bonus of being miles away from the rat race, even in high summer you can avoid the crowds if you know where to go.

Have lived in Lancashire, London and East Anglia, now I wouldn't want to live anywhere else but here.:)

Sandbanks, Dorset. Right by the sea and by living there I would clearly be a millionaire (which I'm not!).
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

I used to live there - loved it! Decent shops in a quiet town (all and sundry commuted into London during the day) and nice people. Despite leaving the area 20-odd years ago, we still have the friends we made there. Only a short train ride to London, and a short walk to the countryside.

We're going to move from South London to Cornwall this year - within the next few months hopefully. I can't wait. :p

The sailing is fantastic, and the seafood the best.
